Omg THANK YOU for telling us what the sensors look like. There is an intersection by me that whenever I stop at it, it for some reason never sets off the sensor and I’m stuck there for ages. I’ve even had drivers behind me yell at me because I apparently wasn’t far enough forward (though I was at the stop line so idk how that makes sense). I am definitely going to look for these mystical squares tomorrow. Cheers
Isn't he doing the roundabout the other way round? Here in the Netherlands we drive the roundabout anti-clockwise, like he did here. But we ride right hand side. It would be more logic if the Bri'ish would go clockwise.

There was a left turn id always take to get to my old house and late at night the light of the road i was turning onto would only change to green if a car was on the sensor so i would have a tiny bit o fun getting in the wrong lane if there wasnt a car there to make the light change for the road i just got off of and make those who were behind me have to stop for no one 😂
@12:40 you can just move the lights back 1 square mate. That'd be equivalent to just adding some microtiming between them. Phasing is the same, but acceleration for 1 square gives the purples enough time to clear then.

When I was a teenager. I had no idea this was a job. Traffic engineer. That almost 20,000 score was what I was thinking about. I have always been told I have a very efficient mind. I constantly see things in my head. Too bad I am permanently disabled. I think being a traffic engineer would have been something I would have been good at and enjoyed. Because that mega roundabout you did could have been so much better. So many roads you did could have been way better. The lights need to also be staggered anti-cloak wise every other. You had 4 lights per side. Had light one and three went while light two and four stopped and you staggered them it would have helped. But you needed side on off roads.
😂 the two orange cars at 1:01:43 just driving right against each other instead of one giving way is hilarious. Just sharing the lane and somehow not messing the whole traffic up
They've all but replaced the inductive loop sensors here in some states and swapped in cameras that use an algo to recognize traffic. If the sun is blinding it or sub par lighting it'll default to a normal timed loop sans sensors.
Square about you can add some roads back further to start pulling cars that need to go left so they don’t have to wait to merge on the square about. Hope that make sense

also, I stand by my New Jersey challenge... only use straight thru and right turns only... no left turns... so if you need to go left then put in 4 right turns. =D you might have to drive an extra three or for intersections... but never having a left turn means you never wait for a left turn a light, only wait for crossing.
Why didnt you natural engineering instincts tell your to make one crossing on the second one vs two? You couldve brought the two lanes to the middle, had them cross together. You should also probably stagger the lights more, so it looks more like 2 green, 1 red or 1 red, 2 green on a 3 light circuit, so you allow cars to exit before you let cars on. It could also be 1 green, 2 red on a 3 light circuit On the hamburger, you couldve added 4 bits of road to yellow and green to make a right hand turn, instead of putting them on the road to go all the way around the map.
Why would you not just make the square-about larger and scale it up so it can just hold more traffic. Take it to the enge of the map and more cars overall can be on it, even more so if money doesn't matter in final scoring :l

Acceleration times are quicker in game because there is no distracted drivers or hesitation to see if someone is gonna run the light.
