I'm a retired bed bugger owner operator who pulled for Allied Van Lines. I too knew how to drive in the snow. But after years of getting cocky about driving in snow and ice. Thanks Michael. I took an empty trailer from Laramie to the border on 287 in 40 mph cross wind. Man was that fun.. had to keep the foot into it to keep the truck moving forward whilst the trailer fishtailed back and forth.. lol. Quite the trip..
I ran that route many times from 1975 to 2015. never changed. would set there all day if need be. our safety Dept would not allow us to chain. reason. if you have to chain then the driving conditions are too dangerous. And in a court of law if there is a fatality you have a very real problem

Hi Mike thanks for sharing another great video. Do you have an email address that I can send a(phone #)to, i live in Grand Junction and would like to meet some time. If you needed to take a break or get fuel. Thanks
It's amazing that the government decided to build a freeway through some of the roughest terrain. Love our Interstate system. Thank you for sharing this trip.
Drove east into Denver just this week and while I’ve driven the 70 a dozen times or so, as soon as I got to the Eisenhower Johnson tunnel I just said to myself “it’s amazing that humans thought it was a good idea to punch a hole though the mountain, AND THEN DID IT.” Pretty freaking amazing. What a drive too, so so pretty. I have yet to do it in the summer though… lol I’ve only had to chain up once luckily.
I had to stop and change my diaper after my first snow show at night. It wasn't because of the ice on the road or anything but because of two cattle haulers that passed me going 95 mph with their headlights off, on the cb laughing and joking about me doin' 35 with my hands and feet grippin' the steering wheel and my eyes the size of the windshield.
I remember the first time I saw a sign that said "chain up area 1 mile". I wasn't thinking tire chains. So I'm wondering chain up your dog, chain up your wife, your kids, what? Then I got across the mountain and saw the sign that said chain removal area 1 mile and then it made sense.

Back when I used to run the west coast I had a set of cable chains with cams for tightening. They were great for severe ice but not so great for heavy snow or anything else. But on paved roads with ice they were the cat's meow. They ran extremely smooth and you could run them at much higher speeds.
I love to see ALL the country you travel thru in ALL SEASONS. I feel like I'm holding down the passenger seat and just absorbing all the beauty in our country. Well I guess you’ll have to stick with the law. Oh well 😔
Some folks do need them. These laws are there for a reason and cannot be enforced "piece meal"
Hi mate I'm Jim coming to you from new Zealand enjoying riding along with you and your comments also tripping through the snow
Drove otr 20 years Virginia to Washington state never had to chain up it always snowed while I was in Virginia lol
Back when I used to run the west coast I had a set of cable chains with cams for tightening. They were great for severe ice but not so great for heavy snow or anything else. But on paved roads with ice they were the cat's meow. They ran extremely smooth and you could run them at much higher speeds.
It's better to be safe then sorry. So stop your whining.
What is the speed limit when you have chains on in the USA?
Depends on the depth of the snow and if it's ice. Also you could run into bear pavement
First time viewing/new subscribing. Great commentary, and excellent scenery.
too many unreasonable lane changes. you are a bad driver
10_4 GB great drive,n Mountain Mike👍
Thank you Bergy👍 ☮️
Yes that may be the law but I believe the number one priority is safety for your well-being and for others on the road
Great video loved it from the UK west Yorkshire
Beautiful ride along, wish I was a trucker myself.. I love different types of weather conditions.. would make for an interesting day.
That was very interesting thanks for the ride
Thank you Mr.. glad you enjoyed it ☮️
Please stop complaining so much.
See you next storm when your in the ditch buddy.
beautiful country we have :)
For sure . ☮️
I love to see ALL the country you travel thru in ALL SEASONS. I feel like I'm holding down the passenger seat and just absorbing all the beauty in our country. Love the back roads best and watching you drive thru the snow. You have some serious driving and parking skills. Keep those wheels turning....our country depends on you delivering your loads what ever they are and where ever.
If any company I work for don't pay I don't chain I do enough free work for the company so no pay no chain don't let nobody else bulshit you about you put chains on so you can keep rolling to get paid that's an hour out of your busy schedule anyway do what you want to do I do what I want to do
Hey Mike!!!! Way to carry a tune...............but plz do not quit your day job!!!!!! Way to drive though!!!!!
Wow.. Mario.. I do suck at singing.. lol ☮️
You know Mike, if I was in that right seat my head would be on a swivel, oh ya thats my neck. I wonder if you could put the cam on a swivel and move it about every once in a while so I would feel more like I was actually there. I keep watching your videos so it's not like I hate it but want to see out the side and all around. Just a thought. Peace out.
P.S. I don't care what anyone else says, I think you're a great driver.
Oh watch out we got a badass super trucker
It's called better to be safe than sorry. They are not sissies for chaining up the tires.
I don't take I-70 ( UT-CO and back) from Nov to May. Hell no.
