    Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 Internals Upgrade SSD and Battery Replacement
    Kingston A1000 960GB NVMe SSD + JPYUASA 39Wh R13B02W Battery.
    1. Upgraded the stock Samsung SM951 256GB NVMe SSD onboard to a larger size Kingston A1000 960GB NVMe SSD.
    2. JPYUASA 39Wh R13B02W Replacement battery for Xiaomi Mi Air 13.3". Excellent item came in time as my original battery is expanded & dangerous. Installed quickly & made a RUclips video of installation with battery stats before after results.

    Hi, first of all thank you so much for this video, was really helpfully :)! I just have a question that I'm facing...I bought the battery that you have suggested, I have done everything that you have well shown on the video, but now...on my battery icon it shows "Unkown remaining" when the ac is not plugged. When the AC is plugged it shows "Not battery detected". Do you have any idea what's happening? thank you so much in advance for your time

    hey man! any idea what screw I need for the m2 slot? planning to upgrade, and got the ssd but jus realized I dont have the mounting screw haha thanks!

      If you can't find a screw similar to slot 1 then try tape down the end of the SSD to mobo and stick a foam tape above the end it will press down firmly when you close the back cover.

    HI Richart, great work. I found out that 8Go memory is unfortunately not enough for my daily usage. is it possible to use the additional SSD as virtual memory to get a performance closer to that of a 16Go setup? thanks

      Slot 1 is PCIE NVME Slot 2 is M.2 SATA just go for something within your budget. I using Kingston 1TB SSD for both slots.

    I got the same model but I got it 2nd hand and a few screws are missing from the bottom part. any idea where can I get some replacement for it? couldnt find anywhere on aliexpress and such :-/

      if you have a 2nd hand parts shop near you better drop by there to pinch some screws just be nice to the staffs hahaha else try some electrical repair shop

      I just changed my battery and for some reason the bottom part of the touchpad became very loose, can barely use the clicks :-/

      @@xXmahriXx not sure how you got it loosen just by changing battery. Maybe you front screws not inserted & tightened hence gap for pad to press downwards? Try open & reset the battery alignment again?

      @@tubernaastig mi air 13 uses quick charge this will cause lower battery lifespan than normal charging method. Keep it off the plug & charge to 90% is advised. They have new version battery which limits the charge to 20w slower charge times but better for longevity.

    What size is the screw tool for the back of the laptopbro? Im planning to change my battery also, no ideal how to unscrew

    Hey man thanks for the nice Video. Do you know how to get to the cmos(bios- battery) my Mi isn't booting, I can't get to the bios, so I thought I need to check the cmos, but I can't find it on this side of the Mainboard. Cheers Dude

    Excuse me, if the NMVE of 960 worked for you? I used 500 Gb (kingston NMVE) but it didn't work

      1st slot is only for pcie nvme ssd and 2nd slot is for sata ssd. I use 1tb pcie nvme ssd + 1tb sata ssd.

    Thanks for making this video , it helped a lot . I have the same 940mx model and even my battery is bulging , can you tell if i remove the battery completely , can i run the laptop completely on charger. Hoping a reply from you. And can you tell how is the battery keeping up now.

      Don't think so cause it goes to battery 1st you may try run it without I'm just worried it may cause some damage. Just order the battery save you beats of headache. Mine is 2016 model until now still using for work & editing 4K RUclips video's. Save up this year to buy they coming out with AMD Ryzen model.

      Actually it is difficult importing here due to customs , so was thinking if i can remove battery and run without it , as the battery is bulged to an extent that even the structure is not in shape to close the lid properly , i don't even know if i open the back i will be able to again put the battery back , thats why i am confused weather to open this or not as i don't even have a backup pc. Though thanks for your reply. How is your battery backup now with the replacement battery.

    i was interested to buy this air 13 for specifics/price combo, but 4he30 minutes is the max of the battery life? Xiaomi guaranteed 9h...... Nice video anyway :)

      9hrs for Air 13? I only know the 15.6 pro can achieve that... Air 13 real usage with chrome, wifi & nvidia don't think can hit 9hrs.

    after installed the nvme into the 2nd slot, it was not really detected by bios... any resolution for it?

      1st slot is NVME PCIE 2nd slot is SATA only. You installed the wrong SSD. Specs clearly written & reviewed by many as well.

      If you plan to keep using the laptop for long order 2 batts together to save on shipping fees. Each batt should last 2.5 years if you avoid quick charging it should be better.

    Thank you for the video.
    Any idea why my laptop isn't booting with the second m2 ssd installed?
    Getting green charging led but it won't turn on. No power indicator light, no fan, no nothing.
    When removed everything starts perfectly fine.

      2nd slot is SATA SSD if use NVME SSD won't start if bios selected 2nd slot to boot. NVME SSD only for 1st slot.

      Yup it may have detected the 2nd slot as boot drive.

    Hi Richart, thanks to this video i opted to change my battery as well, and it's most likely it's the same as yours. But for me, when i used in while charging, my fan was acting up, performance lags, I think it is caused by different voltage, and i need to do something with the bios. Can you tell me your's bios version and where did you get the updated one?

      Mi didn't have any bios update but try check fan settings in bios or turn it off or auto then reboot into windows then set from windows fan

      I am using this 65 watt fast charger which has 3 ports, 65W - 30W - and 18 W, from Mcdodo. Interestingly, the old battery can be charged by the 65 W & 30W port, the OEM battery can only be charged by the 65W. I am thinking maybe if i use 45 W output from the newer model Mi 2018, the problem would be solved, but that's extra money with no guarantee

      @@RichartAsia for time being i don't find any issue tho after swapped it again lol, it has been hard to find a working replacement battery, had to return 2 before,, not charging at all, this one works but with minor issue. I think it's within the ic power controller that cannot charge the OEM battery properly. But maybe the swap that i did kinda calibrated it? Will see in few hours how it goes

      @@erwintan4746 65w charging should be no problem just take it off once fully charged up to keep battery healthy don't use plug in when already full. New battery let it use down to 20% then charge back up to 90% then stop keeps battery longer this way

    Hey man awesome video! Is there any reason why after changing the battery, the laptop turns on but doesnt go beyond the “MI” black screen?
    Before that I got a blue screen saying there was some error. After it turning off, I turned it on but it won’t go beyong the “MI” screen.

      I think the battery cable not connected properly or you have a defective unit try put back the old unit see if it boots

    Hey man, pretty random request but given that you're one of the few youtubers showing how to disassemble the device properly and still answering comments quite frequently i thought I'd give it a try. The laptop on my Xiaomi mi air 13 (2017 model, just like yours) is quite loose and wobbly. Have you encountered the same problem? If so, think you could make a video highlighting the issue and how to fix it? I had a look at it but am too inexperienced to attempt anything on it. Thank you!

      @@RichartAsia The whole screen! I can honestly move the laptop's screen by pressing against it with just one finger... Even when typing I can see the screen slightly moving. Not the most reassuring feeling

      @@Louisleloup123 wow didn't have that maybe I need to see how to hack it firmer. This screen is suppose to be lifted with one finger hence it's pretty easy to move but should not wiggle while typing.

    Be careful with the screws when you assembly it. I mistaken the top screws (which are longer) with these on the bottom and the case bent under the screws 🥲

    My battery is swollen, due to customs restrictions in my country I cannot order a new one.
    Can you completely remove the battery and use the pc only with the power adapter (charger)? since it could explode at any moment or even catch fire.
    If this is possible, in case of portability problems I would use a 20,000mah capacity powerbank and the same output specifications as the original charger (20v 3.25a), with that I could use it outside the home without worrying about having an electrical outlet nearby.

      Can't needs battery go to your local PC shop ask for help see if they authorized to import for you worst case scenario you may need to buy a new laptop

      2. I'm using 1TB SSD on each slot hence total 2TB storage. Only RAM can't change.

      Try other sellers in Aliexpress some can't ship batteries to certain countries or maybe currently cause of covid19 their ports are inaccessible to ship items...

      Hi I bought this new model for Mi Air 2018 model, it reduced charging time from 1hr to 2hrs at 20W charging instead of 36W to give longer life to battery.       Yup common even Dji mavic batts does this same with Lenovo or HP... faster for Mi cause it quick charges up very fast. Just buy replacement it's cheap anyways just hassle to wait for shipping & tax depends on your country.

      just order them from aliexpress the replacements are good enough for a few more years just remove charger once batt 100% don't keep charging whole day.

    Hello. My Xiaomi air 13 notebook, does not charge, and does not stay connected to the battery. The battery has charge. The battery is recognized by the notebook. But if you pull the power cord it turns off. Is there a way to fix it?

      Thanks for watching! I didn't repaste as this is not a high spec gaming unit not really need to modify much as the gains won't be much anyway. Better to get a fast ssd & dump all those junk microsoft apps that's hogging the system.

      When i connect the charger its showing 'x' mark in the battery meter.
      Powercfg /batteryreport reports -1
