  • This is a brush fire that occurred Saturday, March 26, 2011, in the Suntree area of Central Florida, just north of Melbourne. People were ordered to evacuate their homes as the fire approached. About 40 acres were consumed by the fire. It was a windy afternoon and it rapidly spread, but damage was kept to a minimum, through the efforts of Brevard County Fire Rescue and Division of Forestry.

@Brushhoppr Nope. none of the houses burned. This event could have been a lot worse and it was extremly close to some houses, but fire crews worked quickly to save this neighborhood. The black smoke was really thick brush.
