Scleremchyma is a dead mechanical tissue . Also , there are 2 types of scleremchyma depending on their shape- Fibre Sclereid. Fibres- are long , elongated cells , present in the husk of coconut. Sclereid- brachy sclereid( stone cells ) . Found in the pulp of GPS ( guava , sapota, 🍐). Note , the sclerieds are spherical, round or cylindrical. Their main function is to provide mechanical strength. Note- collenchyma is a living mechanical tissue but scleremchyma is a dead mechanical tissue.
