There's roughly 40-50 energy providers gone bust in last 2 years. Each one gets swallowed up by the big few.
First principle to nationalising energy providers is it's harder to control many so shift power to a few big ones. Then slowly but surely make the few suffer -> for everyone else's safety then the final swallow.

They're not suffering though they're making record profits
All providers are capped at 1.9% profit. Its the suppliers to the retail providers that are racking the profits in.

She is unelected.
She's unelected and a genuine candidate for most unintelligent PM in UK history. She also has stated that the entire population of the UK just needs to work hard and are lazy, so not really something that will endear her to the public.
They don't hate her so much as they're concerned that equality has gone too far now that someone with special needs is PM. The job is far more than she is intellectually capable of doing and rewarding her with it puts us all in great danger.

That's not strictly correct... she's frozen the energy price cap, not your bill.....The price of a kW is frozen, i.e. how much energy companies can charge per kW ....NOT how much your bill will cost. If you use lots of Gas your bill will be way above £2500 a year, remember that figure is only based on an average usage.
