I'd suggest putting in a roll over valve on that tank so it can breathe, I've had issues with tanks creating a vacuum or over pressuring and my engine running super lean or create a no start, or long crank scenario
Some of those auxiliary tanks like he took the lid off of have roll over valves built into the filler cap. If it didn’t have one he could order one. That way he doesn’t have to do any more welding on it since he already put gas in it.
Nice work! Fun fact: ELD means fire in Swedish. Very fitting for a gas tank 😊
Was just about to leave the same comment!

I've never ever seen someone do CAD without a mouse !! well done, you've achieved it the hard way
The bright side of having to use the Chains Required sign, is that it becomes part of a gas tank & you have room to hang a new sign up in its spot
Give that awesome gas tank a coat of clear. It’ll corrode fast in your environment plus the proximity of the steel frame will accelerate that process. Lookup a little thing called ‘galvanic corrosion’. Build looking killer so far
Word. Isolating the two metals from each other with rubber grommets and pads will do the trick. Of course then you create places to trap water and salty road spray. Designing it so mud doesn’t get trapped in the crevices between them and water can flow freely away helps a lot too.
But yeah, bolt a piece of aluminum to a piece of steel and splash it with salt spray from the roads in the winter, and put it away wet… your aluminum will be swiss cheese before you know it.
These guys will learn all about it when the magnesium core support on the Tesla rots off. Lol
that outro was stellar edwin. The ads are much better as well. Engaging and good use of your beautiful backyard. This channel is so much more than I could've imagined 5 years ago
Ethan embracing his inner engineer makes me so incredibly happy. Never forget, you don't need to be an engineer to do good engineering.
Ya know, I'm kinda curious if ya'll perhaps have any plans to optimize the steering setup so that you don't have to fiddle with a hydraulic system just to try and get it aligned correctly and all of that, and instead just have already aligned with the front steering normally as a toggle alongside crabwalking.
Some rock crawlers use hall effect sensors mounted to the steering arms to find centre and use a momentary switch to trigger the steering to find the happy place between both sensors. I think they are a bit at risk of damage and have ideas of a cable rounded from steering arms to the cabin that triggers 2 micro switches.
It would be trivial to setup an arduino reading sensor off the steering column that activates the pump at certain going rates (so like half way through the steering turn you'll go a certain amount and then full send gives you same-same on the back). I'd say it would take a single day with all the parts required in hand. Cost would be cheap too, something like 50~60 doll hairs for all the stuff you'd need (arduino, any rotary sensor, any relay output with four relays).
It’s honestly amazing to see how far this channel has grown good job grind hard keep up the good content
Some people appreciate art but I have been able to watch it be created in front of my eyes.
Thank You Guys
Very neat fitting tank. I like the street signs, also adds bonus corrosion protection. :)
Crazy they leave free ones on the side of the road.
@@lancestephenson9375 And thoughtful enough to hang them up out of the mud and grass.
@@NathanNostaw 🤣😅😅
I would put some type of led lights inside the frame rails behind the Grind Hard end plates so they light up from the inside and the light protruding through the letters would look spicy bro.
Scam
Really looking good! Going to be one hell of a nice toy when she’s all done, and great looking gas tank came out really nice can’t wait to see this thing out tearing it up , great video was always ! look forward to seeing it complete👍🏼🤩💪🏼
Absolutely needed and welcomed some GHPC in my morning coffee! Thanks gents
I think you should put a work cab thing on the back and put a bed and shelf in so you can keep stuff in it and sleep it seems cool to me.
Yesss about time I've been so excited for this one and the fire truck builds!!!! I was tired of power wheels
Same bro
That gas tank made from road signs is the coolest thing I have seen in a while! The way you peeled of just a small strip for the weld was most satisfying. Could have watched you make those all day!
Your "sign" tanks are the coolest!
This build is looking fantastic!
Thanks for sharing!
I was watching some of your old videos can't stop thinking about how cool it must be to have a upgraded power wheels. Ever since I saw your first video with it I really wanted one.
I’m so excited for you guys to get your new shop built! I can’t wait to see it!
Putting a light behind those 2 pieces you made you put it in the frame like breaklies would be cool
Your fabrication skills never cease to amaze me
Back in 2013 my dad had to sell his custom long bed extended cab ranger. It was yellow and it was sold to a guy near us in rilling prairie Indiana. I want to find it again. He completely redid the interior and everything, completely custom and cool. I wish I could find it
I like the artsy filming randomly placed in the video. You need to put lights behind the custom plumbing end pieces.
Awesome build can’t wait until it’s completely done!
Street sign fab is a must for every build
Add a brace across the frame where you took old one. You need something stronger than what that frame now has, remember, this isn't a regular 4x4.
I was thinking of how you use street signs for things, while I was at "work" today. It looks great.
The rear axles on that are the exact same as the front axle on the old Ford M151 my dad and I are working on. So cool!
The Ranger is coming nicely together! Love the new style voice outro with summary.
This thing is turning out to be so awesome. Love it keep it up guys!
Lights in the frame to illuminate the grindhard endcaps would look cool.
I'm glad your adding baffles in the tank.
Congrats guy's on making the cool gas tank. The Ranger is looking better.. great job.
6x6 that's nice. I was thinking of doing the same thing to my riding lawn mower. All I need to do is buy another transaxle extend the frame towards the rear connect the two axles with a belt and a pulley.
Hadn't seen any of this before.
Ford Ranger ! I'll be back sometime when this is over..
Love seeing how well you guys are doing! You make a great team.
That is the coolest gas tank I’ve ever seen!
For the future, you should find a way to drain the frame rail you welded the grind hard plates to, water will collect in there
I can't wait to see this thing finished you guys are wicked with them tools man.
7:15 but that's part of the fun, walking around seeing stars from brake cleaner fumes while you use grindy spinny cutting things.
This is your coolest build yet guys!
Gas tank? Your insane. I've got a 52 f6 and I'm going to use a Marine tank. Nuts n bolts shake it up baby.
This video had a whole new feel and I’m here for it!!! Mintiest build yet
May need 3 pairs of shoes for that rig! Awesome!
To make sure there is no leaks try using red dye pen and then spray developer on the other side of weld. If there’s any leaks the red will seep through
Good product but how are you going to apply it to an odd shaped closed tank like this? I don't know if it's the best way but i just use air plus soapy water.
@@Lucas12v well you usually do it before the cap gets put on. Cause you won’t have gas at the top 24/7 so if the top leaks a tiny bit it’s not to big of a deal. But you’ll also wanna test your gas fittings and what not to before you put on cap
Drill a hole in the frame near the back and jam some red bulbs hooked to the brake lights in there so your logo cutout lights up! or just wire them to turn on whenever
Best truck and popcorn by far! 🤲🏼
Can't wait to see the progress of this episode guy's !
Beautiful fuel tank , very pretty and street signs is a nice patchwork , very very nice!
This one hits a little harder than the rest their content. Superb music and editing!!! Damn
This is some of yalls best editing yet!!
The music in this video was exceptionally excellent. Even though it is always great, today it's really really good!
I am a journeyman sheet metal worker and with all my years you guys always impress me with your trade skills. One of my favorite things to make motorcycle gas tanks and fenders out of is street sighs. I don't know where your located but it really sucks I'm on the east coast and all aluminum street signs are now being made with a plastic and aluminum bonded together so start saving as many signs as you can
they’re in northern idaho
Right at the start, when you said ,'new tank',I was hoping you'd baffle this one. That 1st song kept me waiting for C.Eastwood to kick in the door...Kewl tunes,as always. This Monstrosity of a truck is just Badness all over.I like the suggestion of putting lights behind the frame endplates too.
Have you ever thought of racing the Kernel? I have no idea if they would let you since its custom, but the Parker AZ 250 would be pretty cool to see you in.
I love the repurposing of all the signs
Still the sickest channel on the entire internet!!!
I liked the editing on this video, keep up the great work
YEAAAAHHHHEEEWwwwwwwww Yeah Boys! Making my Friday, YET again! New King Gizzard album drops last night and now this vidjah. Ready to rock the weekend!
Hey guy’s !!! Very nice tank !!! But use Acetone for remove the glue. I am a French Canadian Québécois. You have the best video’s in World 🌎 tanks guy’s ❤️
It is gonna end up som much cleaner, stronger and better looking!! Im an RC lover and builder, and this looks like something you might see in "our World"... :D
That zip line was dope af ngl
Sweet the mullet truck is back. Have a great day.
I can only assume your new workshop is gonna be built out of tube steel trusses through the rogue fab bender, painted in steel-it & clad with ally street signs😆
really class the self-built tank best grind XD
Dang that was an incredible fuel tank build. Well done!
The streetsigns gives character
I love your street sign gas tanks haha. It's become like, a signature of yours
Time for a shop upgrade! Would love to see it
Been a fan since you started boys! Always looking forward to the updates :) Simply fabulous work!
Hey there he really showed some good and badass fabrication skills I like your style brother please be safe at what you are doing God bless you and just be safe please
plz more random footage of puppers throughout video, thanks!
Those end caps came out awesome! I gotta get an arc droid.
You guys should put some l.e.d.s behind them so they light up
"i gota steal this... well re-steal this formerly stolen road sign"
😂😂👌
Every other channel I’ve seen takes a sip or ag1 what’s the deal can’t do it with a straight face and say and it taste good too 😂😂
No mention of that torch table?! Literally in love with that setup. Great work you guys.
He did mention the name - it's an ArcDroid CNC "plasma robot"
@@brianb-p6586 Thanks for looking out!
Kinda funny seeing AG1 popping up as sponsors on most channels I watch xD Also, awesome build, can't wait for the completed build! Are there any plans for improved suspension like most prerunners have? Or is that not a viable option because of the twin axles and steering.
Right? someone at Athletic Greens has good taste
This will never be a “pre runner” lol way too heavy, bad suspension design and it’s a 6x6. Too slow, too heavy, too design flawed.
@@crippledproductions2194 Yes, I think it would be possible to build a 6x6 pre runner, but you'd have to completely rebuild the rear end, and come up with some design that could still incorporate that swing arm suspension (idk what exactly it's called but you know what i mean)
@@geoffrey6000 this particular truck with how it’s built will never be considered a pre runner.
@@crippledproductions2194 I'm surprised to see someone still doubts these guys and ther fab abilities I'd be willing to bet by the time they are done the truck will be very capable and worthy of the pre runner name
The rims look sick on it
uhhhhh yeah this is my favorite TIG welding channel.
I love that they didn’t show us the new wheels they put on it, but if you look at the thumbnail it literally shows the wheels😂😂
Looking great gyes great show ✌

thats the coolest gas tank i have ever seen .😀
That fuel tank is a piece of art!
That is a sick plasmacutter!
Lol love this stuff. Dude is a mad scientist. Great content guys. Keep it up
That time laps tho.. WOW
You could build this channel with this truck. Love rangers😍
When you guys were emptying the old tank I wondered why you didn't just supply power to the pump and the slap a hose on the other end.
It's a classic example of working harder instead of smarter. Same way they just filled the new tank with fuel without checking it thoroughly for leaks beforehand. The YOLO style is super entertaining but sometimes it's a bit sketchy.
Hey Grind Hard Plumbing Co, it would be amazing if you guys made brake lights or running lights inside the grind hard plumbing co metal plates you added for the frame at the back
but you just watched them weld it shut?
@@masonrogers9943 people have no common sense
@Crippled Productions Totally, once you weld something, it's like, forever. I think weld is actually Latin for "unable to alter". Plus there's no way you could put in a little bunghole for a lighting fixture, cause there's a weld nearby.
@@beerdedwanderer go look at the back of your pick up and tell me if you can see the frame rails
@@masonrogers9943 I have a bumper.
Ohh I've been waiting for this video series!!!
Would make 1 hell of a overlander 👍
Keeping the parts of the signs visible that you could Is a great touch. When does the shop build start?
More beautiful fab work!
Hoses through the body need bulkhead fittings through the floor. Just my opinion. I really enjoy watching your modifications and looking forward to more.
Feel like in order to be considered a pre-runner it needs long travel suspension not just pre-runner front fenders
So far, this thing isn't very prerunnerish at all but it's definitely cool. I don't know what more is planned for it though.
The street signs give everything you build more character.
The biggest weight reduction you will get will be by swapping out those boggers for a standard m/t
also that useless rear axle
@@taylorhickman84 yes get rid of the rear axle on the 6x6 so its no longer a 6x6, for weight savings and defeating the point of this build
@@taylorhickman84 so make it a normal boring pickup truck?? Why are you watching the series about a 6x6 if not for the 6x6....
