When I first heard the soundtrack, I thought to myself "Wow, it's as good as Streets of Rage". And then I found out who composed this game... Good work, Yuzo Koshiro.
30 years since I played this game, and it was the soundtrack that hooked me to it. Darkside Visitor is the track I remember the most. I think I even wrote a rap to this. Goes as hard as hell.
Darkside Visitor rap . . I still remember this: ( a lot of 90s pop references ) I don't brag, I BOAST . . not the ghost, with the most / But when I'm on stage, I'm Jordan, gonna take you coast to coast / And bring you to the Land of Braggadioco . . want some mo'/ N---a I don't think you should be f--kin' around with this sh!t so just call yo ho/ Come correct when you're stepping to The Lyricist Swiss Miss mickey fickeys gets the fist, because I'll piss on your wack delivery/ N---ga are you hearing me? I guess not / Survival in this game, you better Get Smart / Or call on "99" with those weak ass lyrics that you say they're/ Smooth as wine, like Tribe said you better Check the Rhyme / And bring it home to the Microphone Checka / Uno - Dos - Checka, I hit you with that mecka lecka / ( sound of inhaling a quick hit of a joint ) hiiiigh mecka hiney ho / You didn't know about that genie in Pee-Wee's playouse so you couldn't flow / And make a wish and have me disappear / I keep on going and going and going like the Rabbit and you're the Duracell / Hell I break it down for ya / I didn't claim to be superni-ga fu-kin' all the b!tches and smacking all the bros/ But in this game you better come strong DAMMIT / So look alive ni--a, because I'm the baddest Mickey Fickey on the planet
one of the many heads of my VGM mount rushmore. Koshiro-san was a awesome double agent in the 16 bit era, producing great tunes on both systems. This game reminds me of going my cousins to see them play SNES (i had a megadrive, so seeing such a different console in action was quite the thing back in the day) and the character being called Mr Higgins often amused us as that is our family surname.
A game this mediocre has no business having music this good!! I'm over 45 and not at all ashamed to say that I still absolutely love this soundtrack!! And the sound quality on this video is insane! The stereo effects are fully intact. Tracks like "Big Zen" are bouncing back and forth in my headphones! Very nice! I distinctly remember having my TV connected to my hi-fi sound system (oh yeah, that's old school) and recording each track on audio cassette so I could play it in my car. The only downside was each track would start off with a jumping sound or some other video game bleep or bloop. But after I hit pause the music just went on. When I played it for people they were amazed it came from a video game. My two favorite tracks are "Blue Blue Moon" and "Darkside Visitor." If memory serves Darkside Visitor was the swimming level (I think). Good times!
That's awesome. Hopefully it helps improve your child's school day! When I was teaching, I would jam these OSTs throughout the day so respect to you for having them on before the school day.
Some of these tracks are straight up gangsta. I haven't heard this in years. Impressive soundtrack to this game.

I can only imagine how awesome would be to spot someone driving their car while playing this music xddd Rock on!
Dude, I did the same thing in high school. I still have this mix tape in the closet !
Darkside Visitor is the first track on Level 5, when you go into the castle in the dark.
@@finisher3xDarkside Visitor is very underrated! It feels like you're rolling deep in the hood at night. 😎
Blue blue moon and cool beat sounding straight out of the hood
Good'ol days 👍👍👍
Fuck yes, this game was so hard, these sound bites were on repeat in my brain. Great game, killer soundtrack🤙
Cool Jam 16:05 triggered instant nostalgia and anxiety! Stage stressed me out 🤣

Rented this game at least once, maybe a couple times.. always kind of hated it. But this music is forever burned in my brain.
Same here. I even owned the game, and disliked it but the music was one of the top 10 in the whole SNES system.
I feel like Tim and Eric drew inspiration from this soundtrack, especially their snow party song
yEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!
I’m having Sonic cd vibes here
