I have this printer, I use it for greeting cards. The best setting is Photo paper then choose matte photo / semi-gloss / or glossy, and High. If you use the other printing settings like greeting card and cardstock the image comes out looking muddy.

i just returned my 4th printer. Yes 4th. Every single one gave spects that they printed on cardstock. They did not. I just bought this printer after calling Cannon directly for help. Great customer service. Went over all the specs and paper weight for me. Finally!!!!
I purchased the TS 9521C in order to print 12x12 scrapbook paper, When I printed my first page, Canon automatically sets the 12x12 to Cardstock. Fine, however the print quality was not what I wanted. You cannot choose your image quality in 12x12. Cardstock is not coated, therefore the image that came out was muted and not as I desired. I called Canon and the tech worked with me to find a solution as I do many collages and the photos will not print nicely in 12x12. The solution is to buy coated A3 paper. I ended up buying Koala 13x19 paper, chose the the A3 settings which gave me the option to print in 12x12. The image was excellent. I also used double sided coated and I got both sides with very nice images of paper. The paper from Koala is very thin, but it worked fine. You must trim off 1 inch before running it through the printer on the width side. Hope this helps a lot of you if you want to print in quality.

You have given me some hope! I've been struggling to get the print quality on my Canon Pixma TS6120 where I want it. Right now I only have regular printer paper available to do tests on, so I think that's the problem. Hopefully, when my sticker paper gets in I'll see a difference in saturation and be able to get the proper settings for the right paper. You're a gem.

the free templates are a game changer!! i always end up buying a huge stack of notebook paper but only end up using 5 sheets. with the printer, i can print as many as i need without wasting. awesome video!!
I have this printer. I printed posters out, A3 borderless. The image quality was crisp. I print my own A3 posters on gloss paper, matte paper doesn't look as professional.

I hit "print", then saw the word.. TEMPLATES......... Holy crap!!! Who knew!!! Ive had this printer for YEARS and years..... This is a great printer and thats why I never wanted to get another one..BUT I do like this newer version... Ive ALWAYS made greeting cards, calendars and printed out my own photos.... so happy to hear! to print borderless it will be a setting on your computer. For Mac, when I select the paper size, there is an option to do letter size and then letter size borderless for example - hope this helps!

Hi, Do you know if the Canon TS9520 is the same as Canon Pixma TS9521c, with the only difference being the color (TS9520 is black and TS9521c is white).

Yup watching tons of videos trying to find the best photo printer. I will primarily be using it to only print photos when I travel to my scrapbooking retreats. Now that Sams club has gotten rid of their photoshop area, I cannot develop them and pick them up on the same day anymore.
I have it. Not super impressed by the color, my HP 3755 does just as good. I do love the scanner feed and the double-side printing! BUT WHY can you not print with the cover down, ugggg!

Hey man, I have a Canon Pixma MG2450 and I get the error code 1700 (Ink absorber is almost full code). I have changed the ink absorber but still, the code persists. Is there a procedure to erase error codes? Thank you.

I just got the TS9540 and it's the same as this. Just a newer version that came out 2 yrs ago. You should definitely try the TS9550 if it's available in the UK. It's still in the TS9500 series.

Hi!! The borderless printing option should come from your computer or device. I have a mac computer, and when I go to print there is an option to choose borderless when selecting the paper size. I'm not sure what the chromebook looks like for printing, worth looking at some youtube videos for chromebooks specifically! I quickly searched and saw maybe setting up a borderless print on Google Doc might work. Hope this helps!
Hi there! I personally haven't tried plastic pouch, but I think if it is too thin it could get caught up and jammed in the printer :( As an alternative, you could print on transparent sticker paper and place it on plastic if you'd like!
Hi! Yes the Canon Pixma should be able to print borderless in 5x7. I wasn't able to confirm how many prints before consuming the ink, but after doing some quick research it seems like other reviews are saying 500-600 online. I hope this helps!! and thank you for your comment 💗
I just purchased this printer and went through the setup but I feel like it’s missing driver info. I also have a Mac but when I go into the printer settings on my computer, it won’t know the color options tab. For example, on my old printer, I could chose Color Match or pick a driver created specifically to my printer. It would also let me tweak some of the colors if needed. Do you have any suggestions?
@@makia4259 I did and kept checking the Canon website multiple times to see if there was a driver that I missed, and I still never could get it load the profile correctly.

Yes it does! Just printed a birthday card yesterday and it worked perfectly. Just be sure to put the print setting to two sided on your computer (I almost forgot lol)
I just bought this printer and I am struggling with borderless printing. It always prints over the edge and I lose a bit of what I wanted printed on each side. I have been trying and trying but cannot seem to find a solution. Any ideas?
I would also like to mention that it will sometimes print patterns and other times not. I have a strip of polka dots on one of my pages and even if I click the same printer settings sometimes it will print polka dots and other times it will print a black strip. Is this just me!?
When designing an artwork, make sure that you allow for bleed areas. These are areas where the artwork will reach but potentially will be cut off when borderless printing. Allowing space for bleed reduces the amount of artwork that gets cut off.
So the Canon Ink does not last that long. I also print out a lot of pages a day since I make memo pads, so I decided to try an alternative Ink brand called E-Z Ink on Amazon. It lasted waaayyy longer than the Canon ink, and it was half the price - same color quality. My printer itself is working fine with it so far, so i'd suggest looking into compatible ink brands for any printer you end up using if you want long lasting ink. Hope this helps :)

You have to download a printer profile

How long does the ink last?
Honestly the ink from my experience lasts longer than most other printers I've used previously.

Borderless help
Should be in your computer settings when you print! When you select the paper size, check to see if there’s a borderless option - hope this helps!
So you had to hook it up by USB to set it up? That's a failure, Canon. Literally, failed.
