Its sad how many malls close and get demolished. This world is definitely changing with covid and just people shopping online. This is definitely a sign of the times. That mall looks like the apocalypse happen or the rapture. Definitely a cool find though. Glad you got to film it before it got demolished. Ethan preserving history.
I remember when this mall opened , Me my Mother and grand mother shopped at this place for many of years , I was about around 5 or 6 when I first went to this Mall , Rich's was the main store at front end and Woolworths at the far other end of mall , down where Radio shack was there used to be a Dipper DAN ice cream parlor ,, later on where Marshall's is now was the Phar-mor store , up back to the clock was in the past times at the mall was Rexall pharmacy and with a soda fountain although there was another fountain in the Woolworths store , directly out side. of the Macy's door was a play it again sports shop and on the other side was a Hallmark gift and card shop mainly at the time when Rich's was there , back where Burlington Coat factory was it used to be a Mervins dept. Store chain , back over where Marshall's side and where dollar tree is now there was a Spinnakers restaurant and bar they had good Prime Rib , where Marshall's is used to be the Storey's North DeKalb Movie theater , I just cannot get over everything being gone to history , I am 62 years old now but, when you can imagine things being that as they may looking back at what you grew with is gone it a tough situation to deal with when you loved it so much. I always went to see Santa Claus in the Riches store when I was a kid , though at Avondale Mall back before N. D. mall was even built I saw Santa at the Sears store , I remember when they filmed and saw Invasion U S A with Chuck Norris filmed on location that day actually saw the scene from that movie when the bad guys destroyed that mall.North DeKalb Mall very much a significant part of my life it was was only just short few years ago that I was still walking and shopping there with my Mother , now recently my My Mother passed away April 23 8:30pm at 89years old. So many memories that can never be forgotten.😢❤❤❤❤❤
I worked at the Batteries Plus across the street in Shamrock Plaza for a few years. I would frequent the American Deli in this mall any time I needed my 10pc mild all drum fix. Sad to see it go but this is the current state of so many malls at this time
