    Oww... Thats the trouble with complex bits... fault finding even Colin from Parlay Revival has had sail drive problems this last week and he bought a leg and found he couldnt swap parts.. but he had to get to his prop to find his noise problem.
    Glad you got the problem solved and now you at least have a spare leg you can overhaul and keep ready. 🤞🏼 🧙🏼‍♂️

      Well that makes us feel a little better that @parlayrevival had the same issue and was a bit stumped!

      Similar it was the lower bevel gears inside the leg.. a tooth had broken off .. so they had a bad noise and couldn't start their round NZ trip.
      BTW another well known channel was mentioning where they go for their repairs in the Caribbean ...for cheap rates and good work. I will try adding it when I check the name.

    It's hard to admit our mistakes in front of the whole world, but you were adult enough to do so. I enjoy the episodes you two make because they are real. Not just boobs and bikinis. Keep the faith and don't quit. Looking forward to the next one! 😎😎

    Wow, that would have been a 110k South African Rand cost if i had shelled out $usd 5900...definitly broken my bank for a year ....what could you have done differently to diagnose the problem ..maybe a lesson learned vid, on how to save huge expenses...thank you for sharing another grwat weekly vid..not many sailing channels would have shared their mistakes like you guys did...

    • @LivinLaVidaGypsea
      @LivinLaVidaGypsea  6 месяцев назад +1

      It definitely drained us. Still recovering. We think the biggest lesson was to not draw conclusions so fast, and test more. If it happens again, we should remove the prop to see if it was even spinning. That alone, would have solved it real fast.
      As for being honest, we want to always make sure that we are proud of what we post and we can back up what we say. 🤘💪

    either put the saildrive for sail or bite the bullet and see if you can sell it back to the guy who you bought it from at a smaller loss than the 2200 you paid for it...

    Does your boat have pods?

    • @LivinLaVidaGypsea
      @LivinLaVidaGypsea  4 месяца назад

      What is that referring to?

    • @FREEDOM195844
      @FREEDOM195844 4 месяца назад

      You don't have a rudder
      Pod holds the prop and will spin 360 degrees

    • @LivinLaVidaGypsea
      @LivinLaVidaGypsea  4 месяца назад

      @@FREEDOM195844 nope. Not we’ve got a fixed sail drive with a rudder behind it.

    It’s a BOAT (Bust Out Another Thousand). Sail drive is a weak point so having a spare and a spare prop might save you later.
