- Engineers and Architects are coming up with ingenious ways of saving animal lives, by constructing wildlife crossings solely designed for animal traffic. These wildlife crossings dramatically reduce the number of animal deaths on highways.
The projects included in this video are: Veluwe, Ecoduct Wildlife Bridge, Netherlands. Veluwemeer, Aqueduct Water Bridge, Netherlands. Bukit Timah Eco-Link, Singapore. Blue penguin Underpass, New Zealand. American Wildlife Bridges including a Florida Underpass.

@2:25 so happy and excited to see herds of deer running across the wildlife bridge and knowing they're safe from traffic and accidents gives me a peace of mind.
I take a bow to all those who are part of the bridges for wildlife project.
This is civilized society. Mankind is the pupil. When we learn to live in harmony with our world and each other we will become children of the universe.
We need more funding for these on all highways across the globe to keep wildlife alive as every human on this planet is connected to nature and wildlife.
Yes!!
this deserves so many more views and comments, it's ridiculous
Thank you 🙏🙌
This video serves as an encouraging mark toward changing how we think about protecting wildlife. Although we have much work to do, I had no idea we'd come this far. Thank you so much for your channel.
People can lose their lives too. This is a win/win for all living beings. Added benefit, we get to watch all the animals using these crossings without interference.
This channel inspires us to fight climate crisis
Your channel deserves a millions subs...people should watch these videos instead of "Spending a million dollars" videos...I subbed u today:)
Thank you!
How inspirational are these bridges! I'm in awe of these designs. What a great channel you have. Thank you
Thank you so much!
This is a great video to pair with the Illinois 2023 Monarch Award Book called Crossings: Extraordinary Structures for Extraordinary Animals.
These wildlife crossings also provide a marginal benefit for people as well. By reducing the number of vehicle collisions with wildlife, we reduce the number of accident insurance claims, and consequently, the insurance premiums.
Yes exactly!
I am glad that these exist. But I am aware that we as humans can only account for a small percentage in the Environment. Truth be told, and depending on any Weather and geological shifts in the future, we might face floods, earthquakes and/or tornado effects that could bring these types of bridges to harm.
So we need to be mindful of not just where to build these bridges, but also how to create something stable enough to survive the changing climates of the land.
0:59 600 wildlife overpasses in the Netherlands!
I'm a concrete mason with 27 years under my belt building skyscrapers in Manhattan. I've always been a huge animal lover and activist. Well if I can help in some way I will be able to combine two of my favorite things. How can I get involved in this great opportunity??
The Netherlands really are on a different level compared to the rest of the EU
Agreed!
You forgot to cover the wildlife overpasses in the under construction Mumbai-Delhi and Mumbai-Nagpur expressways in India.
Moreover, India built a 16km elevated section in the National Highway-44 which passes through Pench Tiger reserve. The elevated stretch of the whole highway allows endangered animals like tigers to pass unhindered through their protected reserve.
Amazing!!!!
Same for humans though. Humans need to move about to find mates too. 😏😏😏😏😏😏🤔
@BirdBaily Yes. There are bridges for humans. The travel is being lessened for us though.
Love this
here in 🇳🇱 we have animal bridges and tunnels for years all across the country there really effective
They are awesome!
Woke
@@dajoker8998 why is that woke?
The Netherlands is gay
Thank you for advertising your channel on Instagram! I might not have found it otherwise. Really like stuff like this
Thank you!
Great idea, we need a duck crossing! 😆
There are three or four places in my home state I'd love to see these being built... I'd honestly try to petition for them but I don't think I'd find support and I have no idea how to organize anything like this...
Are there any EU programs that provide funding for such projects in the region? Are there any potentially simpler, low-cost solutions we can implement on a local level?
Actually much of the work on the Eco-Link@BKE was by Landscape Architects. No Toucans or Golden Lion Tamarin in Singapore either.
Love your content ❤️
Awesomeness!!!!!!♥️♥️♥️
... and provide nourishment for predators.
Lmao they could just solve the fish problem by building the bridge above the water but making a tunnel underwater is cooler I suppose! I wish they made it out of glass!
@@maryhillebrand7502 oh. I dont know how i missed that... Thank you for sorting out my confusion! But I still want the tunnel to be glass xD
Really enjoy your content brother.
Thank you!
that a good idea, but I think you will need several in one airier.
The fences funnel the animals towards the bridges
oh OK
This is a very informative and important video... but I don't think there are free collared-peccaries in Netherlands, neither toco-toucan and golden-lion-tamarin in Singapore.
Hey, It's my favorite game
I don't like my phone being controlled by someone else
Damn Right!
Only a first world country can be this thoughtful toward Animals. MAGNIFICENT!
That’s not a bridge that’s a Battle Arena
I’ve seen cats camp these spots cause they funnel prey.
Are the animals 🤞 Ng available for hunting?
Why does this video only talk about animal lives and not also mention how much human lives it can save, and how much money and health it saves in preventing wildlife related accidents?
