The Debt - Directing a Scene

After two days of lectures on how to shoot a scene, we create a film set right in the classroom and give each participant a role. There are plenty of jobs to go around: assistant director, actor, cameraman, lighting, shot logging, sound capture, slate, etc..!
We shot a silly scene based on a parable (see if you recognize it). This gave the participants hands-on experience and the thrill of a finished product.
While they were in production, I was editing in real-time so that they could see edits while in progress and a finished version as soon as shooting wrapped. The whole scene took about 2 hours to shoot but was extremely helpful in cementing the things we've taught this week.
