Listen , you don’t owe us a Christmas light video . Thanks for sharing your journey but remember that your health is more important than fame and fortune . Your family needs you more than the subscribers do . Take some time to count your blessings and be in the moment.❤
I agree completely, I am astounded at how much work gets done on your property Brian. This year I am only lighting the indoor lights and candles. It has a been a challenging year with family crisis ongoing. I will be lucky to get some Xmas cookies made. We can only do our best!
R & R!!! It isn't a luxury. It's a requirement for sanity and safety. Please take care of yourself. We like having you around, and all our gardens are dependent on your expertise.
God works in mysterious ways. I completely understand "Murphy's Law" interrupting plans and stopping you dead in your tracks. I've had a few times this year I've had to make an unexpected investment that actually worked in my favor in the end. The hard work always pays off in the end. The pasture, as well as so much of the gardens you've been laboring on will give you so much enjoyment later in life. Good on you for recognizing a well needed break. Keep up the good work!
Every time I see you with your tiller I tell you (mentally) you need one with the tines in the back. Glad others actually suggested the change. The difference is amazing. Daisy looks preggers. Waiting for the light tour. Bella was watching you and Emily pull the trencher up the hill with an astonished look on her face. Take a rest.
HI Brian and Emilie. Animals are so cute. As to the water pipes, my dad couldn't bury his below the frost line in Wisconsin because on the property their was 8 inches of good soil then it turned into clay then gravel. So to make it easy on himself he didn't bother and just laid pipes around the house on the surface. Then in late fall he pulled the drain plug out of the elbow on the corners where the pipe rose up to the faucet and drained water ( and if necessary took air compressor and blew the rest out) Great job Emilie on working in the pasture. As to the lights, try to relax and take a fun day with Emilie and Noah to do the lights together? You still did a great job on what you got accomplished. Take care Brian.🙂
LOL! I often comment to my parents that we should just change our surname to 'Murphy,' for the amount of times Murphy's law takes us down. Great work persevering!
Emilie's such a trooper! I know you're just seeing the setbacks and what isn't getting done but you've accomplished A LOT! You've put up Christmas decorations and lights inside and out - call it DONE and don't stress over it any more. It's important to take care of yourself, relax a bit and enjoy this time with your family (2 and 4 legged).
With the soil that you have I imagine it would be easier to dig holes with an auger. I don't know if you are familiar with the channel Garden Answers, but Laura has some of different sizes that she uses on a regular basis and it makes hole digging a breeze. It might be worth checking out.
Brian and Emily! You're both young and full of life! Please don't tell yourselves anything but that! Most of our struggle is in our heads ..and what we say out of our mouths! We manifest, verbally and emotionally, more than most know! You're doing great! You accomplished a lot and will sleep well! You have been extremely blessed! God is so good... all the time!
Our electricity was off for about 36 hours here in East San Diego County. I didn’t mind it too much. We have propane stove and water heater, so we’re able to cook. I always have a well stocked pantry and we made sure the flashlights had fresh batteries. I loved the quiet! Only thing I missed was my electric recliner wouldn’t go back no matter how many times I pushed the button! 🥴. Life is pretty good! 😊
I think a nice xmas gift for the sheep would be their own eating trough. :). Great work you guys! Ground work is never fun. I love how easy you make putting in irrigation seem! Next year or the year after i may give it a try :)
Your angels must have nipped the cord on the old rototiller. Now you catch your breathe till the new rototiller arrives. You will smile and ask yourself why didn't I do this sooner when you feel the difference the rear wheels make. With your ongoing projects the new tiller will make your life a bit easier.....and that is a good thing. That pasture will be emerald green real soon. Happy sowing and good luck. The hard part is behind you.
Good Lord gives you a break for a reason, it's starting to look absolutely beautiful thank you for all your hard work making this planet more beautiful
Great job but do not beat yourself up for unexpected happenings and truthfully, you need to take it easy and not push yourself as hard.. It’s OK to take breaks.
Wow!! Impressive hard work! Looking good. Love the fake poinsettia for withstanding the wind, all the animals and your "Catiwampus " humor 😂 Enjoy a well deserved rest....Xmas lights can wait.❤
Hi Brian, gosh that did look like hard work! It will be beautiful I. The spring when you have a places to graze those cutie friends you have. I know what you mean by late Christmas decorating this year. I’m also running late, in fact I think a lot of us are this year! It will get done when it gets done. Everything is coming together. Well done.
Thank you for allowing us into your world and letting us live vicariously through your adventures! I do have a question though . . . What are you going to do to prevent Daisy and the sheep from rubbing up against the sprinklers and knocking them down?
Have you considered putting a couple of rainbirds on your house in case of fire coming at you. I know of two families had their houses were saved by turning them on as they prepared to evacuate.. The number you would need would depend on how much you want to keep wet.
I just have to say, I absolutely love Bella! She's a happy dog soul! ❤ The sprinkler job looks great. It was an eye-opener for me regarding the DIY aspect. I love your channel!
Tillers with rear tines are very hard to control on slopes. Just like your trencher was. If you till straight up and down the hill it works, but if you go at an angel to the hill it will want to roll over on you. Just letting you know what I experienced. I'm pretty tough, and it was hard to keep it from rolling. One time I couldn't stop it, and the tiller wound up upside down. My slopes are not half as steep as yours. On flat ground they are awesome.
Wow reminds me gardening is such back breaking work. Luckily I live in the northeast, and everything is frozen until March. You remind me of my dad with Murphys law. He would always say well look who showed up on time, our old friend Murphy is here. 😅
😂 Im a garden contractor, this is a Tuesday for me. Harden up big fulla 💪 Just jokes, cept for the Tuesday bit, love the vids mate 👍 Always think, how hard could an Aussie work? Then try your hardest to match that 😂 You wont, but try. My mum has gloves like that. Always water the ground mate, always water the ground
Watching you and Emilee with that trench digger...that half bent position (like vacuuming) is not good for your lower back. Take it easy...the lights can be for a HAPPY NEW YEAR
Nothing ever goes as smoothly as originally planned. A person has to expect some snags here and there. But like you said, you worked very hard and so the unplanned break actually becomes a welcome rest. It is important to schedule some breaks just to get rest in order to keep a clear focus. Otherwise, you get overworked and that is when accidents can happen. A friend of mine, who was pushing himself to finish part of a project, accidentally cut off the thumb on his right hand while cutting the last piece of wood using a table saw.
Not sure if you are aware of this, but white pvc degrades quickly in sunlight. You’ll want to paint anything exposed or plan on replacing it in a few years.
Hopefully, the integrity of the PVC pipes will be maintained. I did notice, however, that the purple prime activator, vital for creating a secure bond between PVC and adhesive, was not included. Did you use a 2-1 primer/adhesive and a light sandpaper?
I wonder what it would cost to bring in a bull dozer with a ripper on the back of it. A few hours with that would loosen and fluff all of your landscaping and planting areas. Would save you a ton of labor.
Some cheap box store glue is primer & glue in one, but you are correct about his technique with those first few pipes. Both pieces must have primer & glue, and it should be a swirling motion with the primer to properly prep the surface, not just a straight in and out. You also need to hold the pieces in place for about 30 seconds because as the glue cures, it expands slightly. This can back the pipe out of the joint if you don't hold it in place.

You are so correct Holly.
Awe Emilie your a doll for helping Brian out ! ❄️⛄️🎄💚🙃
I had no idea that pvc pipe was so flexible! Great progress! Have a safe weekend. Santa Ana winds are no joke!

Your rooster crowing made my dog sit up and look at my phone 😂
WWow Brian and Emily, with this project you have "Out Gophered" the Gophers. Well done. Cheers, Muffy.

I hate wind too. It's hard to work in it, it's loud and scary to see my trees whipping around my house. It just wears me out!
I think a nice xmas gift for the sheep would be their own eating trough. :).
Great work you guys! Ground work is never fun. I love how easy you make putting in irrigation seem! Next year or the year after i may give it a try :)
Wow! What a lot of work - I'm exhausted watching this 😅

I know Murphy quite well, he loves me! 😂 You got a lot done and should be proud of yourself!
Sorry you had such terrible weather. Glad you are all doing well (animals included). God bless!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Great job but do not beat yourself up for unexpected happenings and truthfully, you need to take it easy and not push yourself as hard.. It’s OK to take breaks.

Lol my hubby carries as many groceries as humanly possible into the house from truck every time 😅

I love your faithful helper, Bella.
She's the best.
Thank you for allowing us into your world and letting us live vicariously through your adventures! I do have a question though . . . What are you going to do to prevent Daisy and the sheep from rubbing up against the sprinklers and knocking them down?
We need to install an impact sprinkler like yours just not on such a tall pipe. Thanks for showing how its done.
Laying out irrigation is hard work!!
That was a big plan for a few days. You needed a break! Its looking good!
Well done Brian I really enjoy watching everything taking shape you do a really good job Brian
That's a lot of work you both did. Take a break ❤
Everything is coming along! The sprinklers look good!
Have you considered putting a couple of rainbirds on your house in case of fire coming at you. I know of two families had their houses were saved by turning them on as they prepared to evacuate.. The number you would need would depend on how much you want to keep wet.

Brian show last years lights! No worries they were beautiful.
You got a lot done in two days. I agree, blessing in disguise that the rototiller broke. You needed a break. We aren’t as young as we used to be. 😞🤣
You are very fortunate there our frost line is 4’ down.
Oh listen to those birds! Miss it here in Ontario this time of year
You can also use in-ground pipes to run your sprinklers to wet the field or orchard
Bella, the always faithful helper.❤️

Always water the ground mate, always water the ground
Well done, Brian. Merry Christmas
Those banana trees and monsteras look great!!!
I’m worn out just watching you do this . Rest and relax.
Don’t stress about lights. Only person you have to please is Emily. Lol. We will watch when you get done. Good Christmas Eve video. ❤❤❤
During the entire video, I was wondering if you were going to put up flags. Whew. LOL.
Watching you and Emilee with that trench digger...that half bent position (like vacuuming) is not good for your lower back. Take it easy...the lights can be for a HAPPY NEW YEAR
Thank you Brown. Lots of hard work to do, boy it will be worth it in the long time.❤️✝️🙏🎄
Moringa leaves are used to feed all kind of cattle and are easy to grow... would you grow some Moringa trees in your beautiful paradise?

I love watching your projects. Educational and inspiring 😊
Wonderful to see Emilie.
Oh that looks like a bunch of fun for you and Emily
Oh boy that is brutal work!!!
I, too, despise WIND! Cannot figure out why but, it makes me extremely ANGRY! A "breeze" ok, WIND, not so much! LOL
Your banana plants look great!
Oooo, a new rototiller. Merry Christmas to you!
Not sure if you are aware of this, but white pvc degrades quickly in sunlight. You’ll want to paint anything exposed or plan on replacing it in a few years.
Thanks for the tip

fun update. Thanks.
I barely got my tree up barely decorated, decided no gifts this year ,just don’t want to this year
I wonder what it would cost to bring in a bull dozer with a ripper on the back of it. A few hours with that would loosen and fluff all of your landscaping and planting areas. Would save you a ton of labor.
You should have seem evidence of Daisy having heat cycles if she did Not get bred.
I noticed those grey planter boxes behind you a couple of times, and mostly during the end of this video. What are you going to use them for?
A lot of people I've spoken to say they just aren't as in to setting out Christmas decorations this year. I have nothing up at all!
Really? It is just the opposite here. After November 6th everyone is happy here! They didn’t even wait until Thanksgiving to put them up!!
..yup, it’s been a depressing time, and it’s only going to get worse. 😢
Aren’t you supposed to prime the pipe first and apply glue to both surfaces.? How your joints hold okay!
I won't be surprised if the gophers chew through your pipes. I hope I'm wrong.
Question - how do you know how to do all the stuff you do? Geez
Yep, public utility incompetence stinks
