Fun fact, stations are on Victoria line are humped. Trains arrive at full speed and the incline acts as a braking mechanism. The exit of the station is a decline allowing the train to depart faster as it's going down hill. This saves energy, and allows the trains to run 10% faster than relying on electric traction alone!
The inclined/declined track at stations is great idea you're right...I read somewhere that it's been used since the 1800s when electric traction was not as efficient or reliable as today

My point still stands, Paris metro trains are much slower than the London ones. In some lines, because of short distance or curves between stations, trains are going as slow as 15-20 mph, for instance Line 7 between Château-Landon and Gare de l’Est
i’ve been on the tube and yes they do arrive fast and also have good brakes one time i was on the tube and saw a train and i didn’t even think it was stopping cause of how fast it was

Victoria Line was semi automated as far back as the 60s! It was brilliant tech for its day. Also pioneered automatic safety braking. If it gets too close fo the train in front the brakes come on automatically. Standard across the whole UK rail network now.

If the london train is going down hill at 64 speed it gets ten times faster to 74 speed this is caused by going down hill fast it will make you skip the stop so don't go to fast going down the hills like 64 45 and 60 these speed will make you derail to and going down a hill to a station 64 45 60 speed it will make you skip the staition like bank .

Worked there for 5 years. Every train is going this speed. Have you noticed the sensor right above you at the cantre of the station overlooking the train. That monitors everything from speed to how long it takes to leave the platform
Victoria line indeed. Can't lie, when I went to the north destination i.e. Walthomstow central, the speed they come in to terminate there, made me stand in one of the corridors between both platforms to walk towards the one with a train coming in, and get pushed back by air, at an intensity I don't feel I have been amongst before, on the tube, underground!
It’s not extreme speed. In the tunnels, the tube reaches a speed at around 20-40mph. When it enters the station, it moves at around 15-20mph on average in which it will slow down until the end of the platform
Yeah that’s pretty quick considering I’m from America, something like this would never fly here in the US and before people come at me I’m talking about a train that’s stopping at a station not passing one. But subways and metros approach our stations slow as shit when stopping at a station, which is good anyways because here in the US people can’t keep their asses off the tracks Americans will literally FIND was to get hit by trains it’s ridiculous.

That's normal! And it's going uphill. Every station on the Victoria is higher than the running lines to help braking and acceleration.
That was first ever used at Holland Park on the central line I believe, as a trial for later stations on the network
