I think in one of the videos he explained that he left because he thought that MMA was building a fourth base with the gold instead of the 3rd that we all know of which could have made him think that he was at least 30-40 supply down...that made the most sense to me of why he probably gg'ed.
It's not even that unrealistic for him to think that; MMA absolutely should have had a 3rd base already, Idra couldn't have predicted the reason he didn't. He assumed there was a mining base somewhere, and that he lost an entire mineral line because all his drones were stacked up on the gas.
that drop killed no more then three drones. the drop wasnt the main reason. Idra saw that gold expo building and he thought that was MMA's 4th base so he thought he was too far behind to save. incontrol was interviewed about this and thats what he said thumbs up so people know the reason
idra probably seen that at his expansion his drones that were mining minerals went to gas... and he probably looked quickly and seen no drones there and thought the drop did alot more than it actually did... in fact he just had like 20 drones on one gas
he actually is casting now, get ready for an MLG with: Idra: "Flash winning the game with a biomine push! However, we can clearly see that he is awful because he is not doing the broken super imba hellbat drop every single second!"
I see it now. First time i watched it, I didnt realize that he had sent all the drones into the geyser. i thought he killed all the drones with the drop.
No, he would have won. He left because he didn't notice the self kill and (this is the bigger one) his vespen gas was low and thus he assumed his drones had been destroyed when they were actually doing nothing.
@JeffWatersRules well when it comes to analysis day9 is at a VERY high level of play, and can determine the actual outcome of battles and drops and general builds acurately. Dj Wheat is a FUN guy who is i believe plat or diam zerg. He has done ALOT of the entire e-sports community not JUST starcraft, day9 RECENTLY has taken that approach as well forming partnerships with other games to promote esports to make the community a much larger and nicer place ^^ hope i helped cheers ^^
It shocks me that some people dont know who DJ Wheat is, he is the Day9-equivalent of e-sports movement. People here watch Day9 Dailies but not Live on Three/Kings of Tin/Inside the Game/Weapon of Choice? People who claim to watch SC2 have only just begun! I remember watching wheat back when he worked for EG
@aztluke I wondered the same. At MLG Providence I watched Tasteosis push that button several times when there was confusion starting the Naniwa game and the casters were put on the spot. I think it has something to do with unscheduled commercials. Like a panic button.
i would so ticked as MMA thinkin that idra is just too full of himself, like "am i not worth being finished off?" then i would yell expletives or something like that, but otherwise good play from both of them
@LightBrand in the game against HuK he should have known through his scouting through how much time has went by and his past unit compositions that it was imposable for HuK to have such an army, if he just payed attention and noticed that the VR were doing 0 damage, hes a professional gamer these kind of mistakes shouldnt happen. as HD and Day[9] said he quits when ever he even thinks hes behind and that is a fact he would rather take a win anyday then try and be a smartass (watch the nony game)
Posted on Husky's vid on this by Kronk554: According to my friend, he had played MC earlier and mc said that the next time he saw idra, he was gonna kick his ass. Irda gg'ed because he wanted move to the losers bracket to face MC
@wyyclef hmm.. interesting.. but what it doesn't make sense is why then is there so many audio connections in it. (at least in this one) the tastosis one looks smaller. But still uses the audio connections. I was thinking it could be some kind of mic controller so he could mute and set the volume of his speakers, but I can't find anything on the internet like this...
@MagStarcraft I disagree with the comparison to his match against Huk. During that game if I put myself in Idra's shoes, with my limited game ability after seeing those hallucinations (not knowing they are) I'd pee my pants and think I lost for sure. I mean who knew Huk had such a powerful army waiting for me outside his base ready to strike? I'd think I marched right into Huk's ambush. This game there's no way I'd think Idra thinks he lost, I'd be thinking I'm kick ass right now.
@netsquall I'm middle of platinum, I'm nowhere near IdrA in skill. I'm not eating potato chips and I'm in pretty good shape. Now lets think about this, what on earth does any of this have to do with his poor decision? This is about bad judgement and maturity.. would you ever see Select get flustered and tell someone "this is ridiculous" and quit? Would you see him quit prematurely before even examining all options? I doubt it. Yet this is becoming a trend for IdrA and u have to wonder why.
@LightBrand That's the stupidest reason I have ever heard. This is not a silver league ladder game with nothing on the line. This is the Winners semi-final of one of the biggest SC2 tournaments in the world. To think that he gave a player a free win when there's so much money on the line is so fanboy-esque its unbelievable As far as the GG goes, a lot of people think Idra believed that gold base was MMA's 4th, not 3rd. Equal bases vs a Terran MULEing a gold? Bad times for a Zerg
@DarkKnight2k6 What? 2011 MLG Orlando Champion Huk (Canada). 2011 MLG Providence 2nd place Naniwa (Sweden), the top 8 was half non-korean. I could write a much longer list but I'm so sure you don't pay attention to competitive starcraft that it's not worth me writing.
Even though he missed it, he should've kept playing. Even if it looked like a loss, comebacks aren't rare and quitting is a shitty thing to do to the audience and your sponsors.
@Konyak0 actually he does. It's a prestigious tournament. He feels obliged to do so in most of those games regardless of what he thinks. HuK is just annoying to him.
Lots of money is one the line in these tournaments though. It's not different than real sports to be honest. The only difference is anyone can do well in a videogame. No matter how much you practice running, you'll never become the world champion in it. In videogames, you can. Still, when any tournament is giving a pot of over 50k, it's a real sport then.
Bumbleness Supreme Brady Woah, that's not true for physical sports except running. Sure some people are blessed with bodies to be able to run faster. But in sports like soccer experience and tactics come into play. A 'real' sport as you call it doesn't rely completely on one's physical attributes.
Morrille Nagy I'm late to the party but no, games are not about biology. It's about practice. The shittiest player can be made a strong one if someone mentors them. The problem is, most people refuse to put in the time and effort to become a strong player. The people who do well in fighting games are people who put their heart and soul into it. Unfortunately, in real sports that can only be applicable to a few, some sports are biology vs. biology, with no amount of skill actually giving you an advantage. For example, being a skillful at playing basketball can make up for being a short player, however being a 5'6 guy running against Bolt will ALWAYS lead to you losing. He is simply built to run fast. Being tall and fast. For example, even when Lance Armstrong wasn't doping, he had a clear biological advantage over his peers because his body doesn't produce lactic acid which allows him to go at 100 percent longer than his rivals. The only biological advantage a person can have in a fighting game is making a good call and being able to react to things quicker. Unfortunately, that often doesn't translate well to fighting games. There's too much going on and a lot to dull your senses during a match, and a lot of risks that are needed to be taken that can quickly backfire.
@Jaryism what's funny about that statement is you're sitting in a chair eating potato chips and probably play in silver maybe gold league where as Idra is rank 1 grandmaster and has played thousands upon thousands of games, he got rushed hard by MMA because MMA boxed basically all of his units and sent them to attack, it was a total all-in on MMA's part and Idra didn't know it was an all-in so he left simple as that
@LightBrand No i disagree it was IdrA being IdrA he GG'ed Preemptively again with out seeing the final outcome he did the same thing in dalas against HuK and he'll do the same thing again if he cant get a grip on his nerves. Also he knows he fucked up and he regrets this one and the one Vs Huk.
@misanthropiclusion I'm saying Idra quitting during his match with Huk was justified because he got faked out by the Hallucination. Here in this match what did he get faked out by? I'm saying I would have forfeited the match with Huk as well not sure about you, but I would not have quit this one unless it was for an insult.
embarrassing that a pro gamer would emotionally quit that hastily without even taking a minute to explore any other advantage or analyze the situation in a "major" tournament. Again.
"I am absolutely speechless."
He says after two minutes and twenty seconds of solid ranting =P I love Day[9] XD
This was more interesting than the actual game.
"This attack is gonna great for Idra, would expect a gg from Idra any moment now!"
Lol that's day 9 in the next game I think
Day[9] "I'm absolutely speechless" - HE JUST GAVE OUT A 40 PAGE ESSAY.
Well Idra is quite entertaining Ill give him that
"why gg, not understand" - MMA
yup, that's idrA for ya, wow
Feeling nostalgic

it always bugs me that so many pros gg after they get just a little bit behind. this is a good lesson for others. fight to the end.
that drop killed no more then three drones.
the drop wasnt the main reason. Idra saw that gold expo building and he thought that was MMA's 4th base so he thought he was too far behind to save.
incontrol was interviewed about this and thats what he said

yes ffs how is this not clear to everyone
-day9 goes on a rant about idra and the ragequit. then says he's speechless...love how marcus was the one who was actually speechless.
2:17 Day9 says he's speechless after he spoke 2 minutes non stop lol
he actually is casting now, get ready for an MLG with:
Idra: "Flash winning the game with a biomine push! However, we can clearly see that he is awful because he is not doing the broken super imba hellbat drop every single second!"
Yes and a blazer can be part of a suit. At least based on restaurant dress codes and I suppose those are ok to go by.
I think it was a preemptive gg from idra but normally you surrender after you type gg, so he surrendered out of habit maybe?
that would be even worse :D
Am I the only one who laughed when they saw the ad for hot pockets in the background?
I see it now. First time i watched it, I didnt realize that he had sent all the drones into the geyser. i thought he killed all the drones with the drop.

"...but IdrA continues to deliver, tournament and tournament again" lol
no, the orbital command was infested and he was at risk of infested terrans suiciding into his tank lines; a risk he could not take.
I should destroy my own CC vs zerg more often I guess....
3:39 the way he turn at the camera and says " with limited success" lmao
i would so ticked as MMA thinkin that idra is just too full of himself, like "am i not worth being finished off?" then i would yell expletives
or something like that, but otherwise good play from both of them

3:20 just love that part :D so wtf moment
Idra played Brood War professionally. He had a very successful Brood War career.
Man Day 9 coments xD Is try is try hard to undestand was goint on in Hydras head, and only found more confusion ! GG!
Day9 talks a lot. So poor Wheat can't get a word in. :'(
Posted on Husky's vid on this by Kronk554: According to my friend, he had played MC earlier and mc said that the next time he saw idra, he was gonna kick his ass. Irda gg'ed because he wanted move to the losers bracket to face MC
lol...did anyone else come here thinking they would see someone rage quit a UFC fight
he didn't leave, he was fired
anyone else notice how jeffwatersrules always has the top comment on all SC2 videos?
WOW someone video tape Idra playing black ops.
@wyyclef hmm.. interesting.. but what it doesn't make sense is why then is there so many audio connections in it. (at least in this one) the tastosis one looks smaller. Invite Idra to your Friday Poker Night!!! AND WIN ALL THE MONEY!!!
he was not talking because he was disappointed and upset about idra
Day9: I'm just at a total loss for words. ::continues talking for 3 more minutes::
I think they were trolling each other
Lol dragon's saying never give up existed back with MMA
@MagStarcraft I disagree with the comparison to his match against Huk.

Day 9 just pretends the other guy doesnt exist lol
IDRA=I Do Rage Alot makes sense to me
@halfbakedc00kie Yeah its called "The Story of MLG" and its on Day9's channel its towards the end but the whole video is hilarious
@LightBrand That's the stupidest reason I have ever heard. This is not a silver league ladder game with nothing on the line. Idra found this video
I know there have been Starcraft players who manage to snatch defeat right between the jaws of victory but not that way.
@ctsincebay that depend of the number of mules, a mule is worth 4 drones
Djwheat is so mega pissed lol
@MrFunnyPeete He did leave the scene he announced his retirement.
Just noticed idea got fired on my birthday
If I was a pro Starcraft 2 player, I would troll IdrA out of the butthole in every game I played against him.
ohhhh, that sucks!!! thx for explaining to me :D
@JeffWatersRules he's the ying to the yang bro there'd be chaos if there was such a thing as a 2nd day9
Nobody keeps Idra from losing. Except of course idra
@ctsincebay yes but idra had 16 mutas on the field and could have brought that scv number count down very quickly considering MMA had few marines
pro gaming means pro gaming show up looking pro :)
yes, but maybe the comment wasnt about this particular video but IdrA in general
who the hell if the guy at the left? he wasnt talking and they should have hired someone that could follow with day9
suits are awesome.
i think idra really need to take a leak at that time
Not something you'd expect a pro SC2 player to miss lol :P
@Konyak0 actually he does. It's a prestigious tournament. He feels obliged to do so in most of those games regardless of what he thinks. HuK is just annoying to him.
I m gonna destroy my own CC when i m losing
obviously he gg'd so that there would be more games, idra always wants to practice
Good thing day9 knows his shit, if he didn't, that speech he made would have made him look a bit dumb lol
does anyone know what is that little orangeish box with those audio connectors ?! What does it do ?!
queen
does anybody know what number the daily was where Day9 talks about this and MMA's funny reaction?
sounds like a fix to me...
i cannot believe just a game

but here he did
IdrA is why i watch starcraft
Who is this seccond guy? he just sits there..
After MMA asked IdrA why he GG'd, did MMA say "fuck off" ?
@JeffWatersRules It's impossible to outtalk Day9. That's why he is quiet:P
Love it XD
@musicaddicted777 THAT made no sense.
thats actually what most players do.
Yea, this definitely wasn't a ragequit. Idra honestly thought he was on the losing end with no way of winning. Idra doesn't gg when he ragequits.
@Stevek1m23 test bug i think....its not in the map pool
@misanthropiclusion I'm saying Idra quitting during his match with Huk was justified because he got faked out by the Hallucination.

Its a BLAZER
why did mma destroy his own command center?
@ZeroIsMany just you... it the casting garb
@Bullman85 Huh? I dont get it..
Sorry "ESE"
Day [9] and djWHEAT
@JeffWatersRules huhu....
@Bullman85 actually hold 9
he doesnt gg often though
