    That's a jam up job right there man! Honestly the best I've seen. I've only done a couple but would definitely like to improve because it was a pain in the azz LOL. That kind of work takes a lil of everything to be perfect lol. I do have a couple questions if you don't mind. What temperatures are you using for your iron as well as your hot air station during the removal process and what type(s) of regular solder and size do you suggest when reinstalling the port that will have a nice hold for the long run? I really appreciate your time and such a detailed video!

      @@racardablackmon8389 I thought I replied to you! Thank you for the compliments! I recommend keeping your temps at around 700F at the highest and keep your airflow at 6 or 7 for a thin board like this. Also make sure you use flux! Don’t overkill just a dab should be fine.
      And 63Sn/37Pb solder wire is usually the best for smaller electronics. Use smaller diameter wire 0.015 inches to 0.032 inches in diameter is best.

      You don’t even need to use your hot air. Just use your iron to take off the wires from the board like it did. Hot air is kinda overkill. Lol. If you’re asking generally, hot air and iron temp I keep usually between 7-800F and air speed at 7

    Is that low melt solder again you use to prep the traces?

    • @KortechService
      @KortechService  2 месяца назад +1

      @@joudomsouk No, you want to use low melt solder only when removing. Clean the low melt solder with a soldering wick and apply regular solder to prep the pads and pins of the hdmi port. 😊 You don’t want to use low melt solder to bind the port to the board. It’ll lose connection because the board will get hot during use and the low melt solder will lose connection.
