Not sure if I agree with the sight gauge being too low. Hyd oil expands and depending on the position of the stick that can be a make a huge difference in levels. If it's cold and has something in the sight glass no matter how low you should be good after it warms up and then give it a check with the boom in a standard position.

Fundamental failing in this video was to state the correct position of the machines arms, boom, dipper and bucket to the check position!

You don't need the tractor running, but you do want it warm.

So if the circle for hydronic oil is going to be full to the top?
The level of the oil should be in the middle of the sight glass.
On hydraulic level should all your cylinders be in before you check the level on the machine? Just wondering?
Typically they cylinders should be half way in when checking the hydraulic oil level
Should show where to add.
