- The First Scientist Ibn al-Haytham commonly known as Alhazen, this man is among the forefathers of physics with his experiments on light. He carried out his experiments with a sense of the scientific method and recorded his experiments’ data with a great degree of meticulousness, which inspired other scientists after him. Thus he is regarded as the first scientist to record scientific data and data analysis.
“The Pioneers of Modern Science: History of Islamic Science and Technology” exhibition provides the opportunity to get to know the scientists and their work that had built the foundations of disciplines such as algebra, mechanics, medicine, astronomy and physics; inspired the scientists and artists from other cultures and laid the foundations of modern science. The exhibition also explores the ability of scientists to study and translate the work of Greek, Indian and Chinese cultures and bring them into their own civilization and develop new methods.
“The Pioneers of Modern Science” exhibition that will meet with art-lovers for a year until September 2020, is held by the main sponsor Turkish Airlines and venue sponsor IGA Airport Operations - Istanbul Airport, with the contributions of Turkish Ministry of Culture. Vakıf Katılım Bank, Ziraat Katılım Bank, TURKCELL, TUSAS and Prof Dr Fuat Sezgin Foundation are among the sponsors contributing to the exhibition.

سيوفر معرض "رواد العلوم الحديثة: تاريخ العلوم والتقنية الإسلامية " الفرصة للتعرف على جهود العلماء الذين وضعوا الأسس التي بنيت عليها التخصصات العلمية المختلفة مثل الجبر والميكانيك والطب وعلوم الفلك والفيزياء. الإلهام الذي زودت به مختلف الثقافات العلماء والفنانين، ووضعت أسس العلم الحديث في مختلف حقول المعرفة. يستكشف المعرض أيضًا قدرة العلماء المسلمين على دراسة وترجمة أعمال الثقافات والعلوم اليونانية والهندية والصينية واستيعابها في سياق حضارتهم الخاصة وتطوير مناهجها أدواتها وأساليبها.
يقام معرض "رواد العلوم الحديثة" الذي سيلتقي عشاق الفن لمدة عام حتى سبتمبر 2020، بمساهمة من وزارة الثقافة التركية وتحت رعاية شركة الخطوط الجوية التركية والراعي الرئيسي إدارة العمليات في مطار إسطنبول IGA، ومن بين الرعاة المساهمين في المعرض: بنك وقف كاتيلم، بنك زراعة كاتيلم، تركسيل، توساش، أيوب صبري تونجر، مؤسسة البروفيسور الدكتور فؤاد سيزكين وجامعة كيركالي.
