The tallest tower was completely unable to target the enemies. Only the outermost turrets in the mid-height tower were firing as well. I like the look of the guard post in front of them, but it seems like you'd need to lift the turrets up substantially higher if you want it to be effective in a tower. They just can't see over the wall.
I lined the roof of the Red Rocket with machine gun turrets after I noticed the 360 clear view of the terrain, later I'm sorting loot and crafting, hear the turrets fire up, look to see which direction, and after they went silent I went out to loot the bodies, and I find the bodies of two Terrasques, they got pretty close but were still a bit of distance away from the walls.
Nice idea, especially when placed at ground level. The tower desing seems less useful, because: * High elevation turret => Short detection range. * Gun turret a bit in from the wall => Can't shoot at close targets.
You should jump back in again if you're on console, especially Playstation, since it got the 60 FPS update with a bunch of bug fixes and some cool new content. It feels kinda new again. The other day I did the quests Emogene Takes A Lover and Fire Support, and NEITHER of them bugged out lmao. Super dope.
What I done was build up a few storeys and then you can go sideways along the map, high up like a bridge. But once you build the platform level at a height, you can remove the supports from underneath and the platform stays in the air. So from that, you can build all over the map, far from your base and nothing can get up there. You'll find wastelanders and other enemies on the ground below. So place turrets and things randomly around your platform walkways. Then when you're off doing missions, the turrets will be killing the enemies for you as they wonder.
I did something similar with the roof of drive-thru entrance. I was still building the settlement at the time so I didn't have any settlers just water and 2 MK1 turrets when I got attacked by twin deathclaws. They came running over but they couldn't do anything so they stand there and got chewed up.
I just have the red rocket gas station from the beginning of the game. Lined the entire roof with turrets, I'm busy crafting, when I hear them fire. By the time I get outside, the fight is over! Though I never had a behemoth attacking me yet. For some reason they only send single low level super mutants, Gunner or Raiders. Even though I get called in to help out against several high level super mutant squads in settlements I only helped out once and never did anything with! Been a long time since I last got a single deathclaw attack me as well...
I find that simple scaffolding HMG towers are cheap and easy to build, and seem to be fairly effective. Build them three levels high and two squares wide. Put two MG turrets with the barrels facing the short edges, so the blind spots are facing each other and the tower can shoot in all directions. Set up these towers cross-protecting. Melee enemies don't seem to be able to get at the guns, and ranged enemies seem to aggro on things at ground level. I suppose I'll incorporate a genny and some stronger turrets once those become obsolete, but so far them and my automatic pipe-rifle armed settlers have made quick work of anything that has attacked them, usually before I can get more than one or two kills. It really is a frenzy of autofire.
Different approach: ground level so all turret has line of sight, and wire fence keeps enemy and their grenades out of reach. Machine gun turrets and shotgun turrets still fire through the fence without problem. Just make sure wire fence is not directly beside the turrets.
Man those Skylines are sweet cars. More common in the UK than the US due to import laws, yeah? Im enjoying driving a nice 7th gen Accord with a V6. You get 240ish bhp and a bit less torque. In a vehicle weighing 3200lbs, it's pretty good. You know what I'm saying dude. It's just a joy to drive these older Japanese cars. Even though my car has a lame electronic throttle, it still has a really nice steering feel. It's a cruiser and it just feels so smooth with that N/A Honda V6. I keep it detailed and stock except for tires. I think a sorted E39 M5 would be driving perfection. I love that blue-silver BMW paint. Right now of any new car, a Giulia 2.0T is what I'd like.
Bunker is interesting(but it could lead to complications, since you used guardpost in it, when you will deploy your guards trough the terminal ), as to the tower, I prefer different design: up to 5 concrete cubes with the triangled roof pieces, from the second store, clockwised and next level counterclockwised, and so forth, to and fro, each piece fitted with heavy mg turret, such multidec construction could defend half of Sanctuary alone. Practically, nazi used anti-air towers in Berlin.
So when you mention raids like with the ancient behemoth is that the settlement ambush add on from the creation club? Cause I’ve never gotten attacked by anything apart from deathclaws and gunners and raiders. (I usually get attacked cause I have a lot of deathclaws captured in traps and stuff.)
Why would I think guard posts provide defence when not manned? I explained multiple times they are used for cosmetic / aesthetic reasons and they also provide cover for the turrets from attacks like the Behemoth rock throw ect ect
That looks great an all but av always went with the ultimate in defence with every settlement it's a nuclear apocolips afterall with mutants monsters an cunts everywhere so av went with the multistory concrete walls all around with machine gun turrets every block or two most are stacked foundation blocks but some are simply concrete walls stacked and I've got little circle concrete turret with 4 laser turrets at each corner (and spaced periodically in the large sections )
Nice to know of another fallout fan who is also into the tuner scene! Got a vault 111 decal on my ride! Check out my Mazda 2 page on Instagram @mazda2_movement

I started a new playthrough last week and I’m definitely gonna use this in my settlements.

You've inspired me to play Fallout again ✌️

I'm building a military base on Spectacle Island and had an idea to build towers, but these are brilliant. Love it!

Fantastic this looks great, also cool whatever that is you've been up to!

We can no longer use a beam or ladder to move the shed like that. At least not with the base game anymore.
thanks im learning more about defense & structures
I do wish there was a turret tower object that I could spam for my settlements...
I like the build, i am a modded player so its not as needed for me but in the beginning it should still be pretty useful, thanks!

I was trying to figure out what you were doing trying to get those boards into place...I would just glitch them in. Way faster.
Very cool idea and I will incorporate this into my own builds! Thanks ;-)
What a Genius idea...thx for showing us/me...greets from Germany well done :)

Wargwarn Dad.
Safe bruv!
sorry i'm missing something.... how did you pick up the entire structure at once?
Hold E
Group select
I don’t know. It seems less fun when a mod is capitalizing on a game flaw. It kind of takes the fun out of it.
Very narrow arc of fire though. Why don’t you open up all 4 sides like the front?
They can pivot, but in the shack they can hardly aim at anything.
0:12 .. One of the wheels is broken .... Didn't know anyone still did single wheel burnouts .. lol
I hope you realize that guard posts only provide defense when manned by SETTLERS not turrets.
Why would I think guard posts provide defence when not manned? I explained multiple times they are used for cosmetic / aesthetic reasons and they also provide cover for the turrets from attacks like the Behemoth rock throw ect ect
CursingWithCurtis since every third word out of MXR's mouth is either aesthetic or immersive I mentally block any use of those words .
lol
To me it seems I can only build wood and steal buildings ... trying to find the concret
seriously if people would request for antagonizer DLC not april fools

Bad title of the video. Should've been called, watch my car ad.
85% the rest boring 😮
Disliked. This doesn't protect the turrets against molotovs and guns
I don't remember him saying anything about it protecting against molotovs
Technically the title of the video says Best Defense. Good but still flawed
Lol. Another one of you mod vegans
What do you mean by that? :D
Bro uses fallout to plug his sad af car. Got some ego for a tiny channel
Why you want show your tatoos or your real you? Plz dont.
Won't it limit the shooting angle?
ssddsquare you could modify it
