I attended zoom AA, wayyyyy more doable for me, if I had to get in a car and haul my ass across town, I’d have found any reason not to. Give it a try if you need or I can tell you the name of the group I liked to go to if it helps.
My aunt's legal name has been Crystal Method since before I was born 😭 We're Canadian so she took her wife's last name, I never got to ask a Why but I assume she just thought it was funny
The stigmas against meth will never not be ironic to me considering how normalized Adderall, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol is in the community. I'm a recovering addict and it's interesting to see how people look down on meth addicts but say nothing about the most commonly used substances especially cocaine with alcohol which is the most used combination of drugs/alcohol in the USA and extremely toxic to your health. Then there's the use of amphetamines like Adderral by people who aren't even using it for their mental health but instead, abusing it. There's Adderall shortages across the country too. No one talks about this. Being a meth addict was so isolating and alienating and it was so hard having to hide my addiction while people were doing lines of cocaine and taking shots all night. If I had been open about my addiction at the time, I would've ruined my reputation and career in nightlife because people look at meth addicts like they're all the same when it's just not true. Yet when people buy an 8-ball of cocaine every weekend and stay up all night, no one says a damn word.

I'm a harm reduction advocate and just want addicts and recreational drug users to be safe and part of that includes reducing stereotypes and stigmas that alienate people in addiction which often leads to death when that addict feels not only alone but shame. If people wanna do drugs, they don't get to shame other people who do other drugs. It does more harm than good.
I was on adderall pretty damn bad, but I’ve only done meth once. To me they were very similar, but the meth lasted wayyyyy longer. Other than the duration and potency they are basically the same damn thing and I’m sorry you had that experience, but I’ve seen it as well. It really is stupid how we pick and choose our “acceptable” drugs to have problems with. It’s all stupid, I’m glad you are on the other side of it though. For me adderall was several years ago now, but alcohol is my latest success story, well quitting drinking is I mean. I’ll have one year next month on the 8th. Look at us, kicking ass.
