Awesome! Happy to help 🙂
good video. I just started this for anxiety and depression. I hope it helps
I hope so too! Just in case, please remember that sometimes it takes multiple tries to find a medication that works best for you! Good luck 😀
Did it work. I just started abilify with paxol.
did it work for you?
Thank you for this!
You're welcome! Happy to help 😀
Hey..could you recommend which antipsychotic would be best for pain in the frontal part of the brain, and sensitivity to light
Hy ,
I am having schizophrenia from last 15 years i was fine on medication , but recently my Psychiatrist changed my medicine from Haloperidol to Aripiprazole . After taking Aripiprazole for 15 days i become manic .
I want to know does this Aripiprazole causes manic episodes ?
Just started taking this medication in tandem with lamotrigine. Worried about the weight gain, I already gained 10-12 pounds in the first two weeks of lamotrigine... 😬😬
Hi Jared, I'm sorry to hear that! I would definitely recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider about your weight gain, and about your concerns with taking lamotrigine and aripiprazole together. Your pharmacist may also be able to provide some more information to you. Changing of medications or of dosing may be beneficial to you, but again, they should know best for your situation. I hope everything works out!
@@NurseRyan thanks!
I would recommend eat less. Or eat things with less calories. Like carrots. Or actually do exercise, If you're going to be eating extra. Drink a bottle of water and focus on something else.
Can you please consider doing a video on lithium?
Definitely! I'll add that to my list ☺️
Idk? I prescribed this for ticks, im 57 yo, I dint have any problems just throat and some facial ticks that come and go, this medicine seems its way too strong for what I have? Has anyone else take this for uncontrollable ticks?
If we cut the antipsychotic "Abilify" 10mg (pink color) into half, will it be the same as the 5mg (blue color)?
Generally, if the pill has a line through the middle (which is there to make pills easy to cut in half), then they should be safe to cut in half in order to get half the dose. If the medication is extended release (ER) or slow release (SR), it should not be cut in half, as it could greatly increase the absorption rate. All this being said, always consult a pharmacist before making any changes to your medications! Some medications, when cut in half, do not equate to half of the effective dose!
Hello, I have a question. Can you take aripiprazole and another antipsychotic, one in the morning and one in the evening, or is such a regimen dangerous and not recommended? thank you
Hi, after a quick search, I found a study in 2009 that stated that clinicians should be cautious prescribing aripiprazole in combination with other antipsychotic drugs, due to the possibility of worsening psychosis. However, I would always recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider or pharmacist for the most up to date information. Hope that helps!
Is abilify a nurotransmitter ? If yes how long these nurotrasmitters stays in the brain after stopping it
Abilify is thought to work by stabilizing neurotransmitters in the brain, primarily Dopamine and Serotonin. And from what I have read, it would take about 2-3 weeks for Abilify to be effectively removed from the body (with a reported half-life of 75 hours). But I always recommend speaking to your pharmacist for actual medical advice!
@@NurseRyan its ok i am just learning nothing to worry about 🙏 and do this process of stabilizing nurotrasmitters stays active in the brain after the full elimination life ?
@@hoticemasri379 The stabilization of neurotransmitters only occurs because of Abilify. For example, Abilify takes the spot of Dopamine on Dopamine receptors, so once Abilify is eliminated, Dopamine would go back to occupying those receptors.
I could see it being possible that while taking Abilify, the brain starts producing more or less Dopamine than it did prior to taking Abilify, and that this effect may persist longer than the elimination time... but this is beyond my scope and would definitely require further research. Hope that helps!
And how much does Otsuka pay Nurse Ryan to promote it's antipsychotic? A drug with horrendous side effects, numerous drug interactions and a class action lawsuit when under Bristol Myers Squibb.
I clearly explained many of the possible side effects, and listed some of the many drug-drug interactions of Aripiprazole. These videos are meant as educational tools for nursing students to help them understand the basics of these drugs for their exams, and for when they enter the field and inevitably run into them - not to take sides with pharmaceutical companies.
Nobody should be allowed prescribe drugs until they've taken them themselves for at least a month
.. at least that long.
Can it help with low libido caused by SSRIs?
Aripiprazole may either increase or decrease libido. It varies from person to person, so I would recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider for further information.!
Sir , Which is a more safest antipsychotic in Diabetes for Schizophrenia in between Lurasidone or Aripiprazole ? Please reply.
According to "Association Between Antipsychotic Medication Use and Diabetes" (2019) , Lurasidone and Aripiprazole had a similar risk of diabetes relative to other antipsychotics. However, I would always recommend speaking to your doctor or pharmacist for the best information, as these videos are meant only for educational purposes. Hope that helps!
Should you have this on birth control?
Great question! I always recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider or a pharmacist for medical advice. I couldn't a good answer for your question online, and the FDA's document on Abilify/Aripiprazole makes no mention of birth control or oral contraceptives, another good reason to double check with your doctor 😀
Sir May I take Aripiprajole twice a day? 5mg in morning and 5mg in evening?due to tolerance problem tremor
Plzz reply . It's urgent
I can't give any actual medical advice as these videos are meant for educational purposes only. I always recommend speaking to your doctor/pharmacist for medical advice. That being said, Aripiprazole is typically taken once per day. Twice a day dosing is unconventional, and I have not seen it in my experiences.
Can olanzapine be combined with aripiprazole?
The combination of olanzapine and aripiprazole seems to have been tolerated well in one small study I found online. However, I would definitely recommend speaking to your doctor about it for the best and most up to date information!
I use it for 10 years ago I feel OK except my sugar is not OK it go down if I stopped it
Hi Tamer, I would definitely recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider about that!
Same problem with risperedone my blood sugur 500mg/dl
I stop it and changed to stelazine and then my blood sugure decrease to range 100-240mg/dl
It doesn’t work for me what should I use
Hi, I definitely recommend talking to your doctor about other options that are available to you. These kinds of drugs can work very differently from person to person.
❤,..
❤
Currently taking aripiprazole and clonazepam 5mg.
I hope all goes well! 😀 Thanks for sharing
I don't like how this makes me feel it makes me rage and be manic
Thats impossible, abilfy cant make you more manic, it literally does the exact opposite
Abilify can cause impulsive behavior in some.
I'm not surprised
Ofc it does its poison
@@yourtrappedinmygenjutsu paradoxical reactions can always occur, not everyones biological and psychological "make up" is the same.
dang thats a lot of side effects
Very true! Almost all drugs that affect the brain have a large list of potential side effects. It can be very challenging finding a drug that works well for you, but also has few side effects.
