When Taz talks about a good kitchen, it reminds me of how much trouble her old kitchen caused her with the broken stove and refrigerator. Hopefully this new flat gives her the peace she deserves.

Our movers dropped our TV down the stairs, broke our dresser, kitchen chairs, and all of our dishes. You have to stay on top of them, they will always try to ignore you hoping you will go away but they have insurance (atleast in the U.S.) for these exact reasons so I'd definitely keep trying to contact them.
On the uk too so she should definitely keep harassing them!

Also with the broken desk situation, if they continue not to answer to calls try calling from a friend’s phone, if they still don’t answer or reply to your email, then I would contact citizens advice. They can pass you on to the right people who can help, sending love

you have a following on all platforms, take the broken glass thing to socials, tag the company outing them for breaking your desk and not responding to your emails or calls, pressure is the only thing that will get them to do anything

If they don't respond via email, send a follow up email once it's been 7 working days. If thats hasn't worked then reach out via social media If their on their. Do not give up, keep at them xxx
Love you girl your honestly just a happy gentle soul and for sure your capable of anything I have them moments where I keep surprising myself with all the adult stuff. You just get the hang of things eventually becomes a norm 💋💛
With the moving company, thing, first review your contract closely. There should be information in the contract for what is covered if they break stuff, and what the procedure is.
Once you have that information on hand, send them another email referencing the first one, and also call them right when they open in the morning. You're much more likely to get through first thing. When you get through to someone, be sure you tell them (and put this in the email, too):
1) That the glass on your desk was shattered because it was improperly loaded onto the van
2) That you were instructed to call
3) That you reviewed your contract and understand that the compensation procedure is xyz.

You could try a letter by post that has to be signed for to say it is received. Then you have proof they have it. Companies often have a policy that these sorts of letters have to be dealt with in a set number of days.
If you paid on a credit card you could also try and claim a partial refund back through that if the company still won’t respond.

You could try contacting them again as if it’s a new move if they have different options on their phone menu for example. I like the idea of just showing up if they have a physical address. You could even email them again and let them know you have quite a large social media following and you feel sad you couldn’t give them a positive review without hearing back from them in regards to replacing your broken item.

I can't believe Taz and me moved at the same time, (okay maybe a month apart) and we are both living in London. And apparently, people don't move in winter... Wait 14 days, if no response log a chargeback claim with your bank- to get all of your funds refunded.
It’s good you’ve emailed - which they will ask, and take it from their. It helps if you paid with a credit card and the balance was over £100 as your protected under the consumer protection act… I.e. service was not as described.

Try contacting the moving company on social media
The moving company should have insurence so getting them to replace the desktop should be possible. In an ideal world they should of got back to you in 2 working days, I would chaise them about it. I aware I escilate things like this fairly quickly onto social media etc because often these companies rely of social media for recommendations etc.
yeah, you gotta stay after them if you want to be compensated. also you should be compensated for the current replacement costs, not the purchase price. most places do have legal aid for renters, so you may want to lookup details on that for your area, and remind the moving company of that when contacting them. it may give them some motivation ;+)
Keep harassing maybe sound a bit more angry also leave a review on Google or somewhere someone always tries to reply to you to try and sort it out
Aw it'll be great to see the new memories you'll make in this place - also I totally relate to realizing how much stuff I have when I moved lol especially kitchen/food items

I'd email the moving company again or call them with a different number.
Suggestion on the arrangement: I'd move the sofa against the wall so the space doesn't feel so "boxed in" or something. It will look more spacious too instead of having it in the middle of the floor. (Our old arrangement was the latter and living room looked cramped that way until we changed it a few months ago. Now it looks bigger) And have the bookshelf next to the TV or sofa whichever has more space. ❤
I was just thinking the same thing, and perhaps getting one of those ikea tv tables, a plant near the window. A nice armchair near the kitchen counter and move the shelf she has in the lounge on the wall opposite the stove island

Hey Taz! Often complaints get ignored unless they are from flagged-up, important emails due to lazy customer service from improper businesses. Emails that don't get avoided as often if ever - are from things like law firms. This is terrible, but if you know anyone that could send a complaint for you through their law firm email address (this is legal I have done it myself), you will be much more likely to get a reply. Anyone you know in the law / business sector could definitely help you out, even people online can be super helpful. Keep all receipts and time-stamps of when things happened, and what you paid for.
Otherwise definitely chase the company up with one more email threatening to take things further if things aren't resolved. I know that's a little extreme, but companies often don't take us young women as seriously, since they think we will be too scared to properly complain or chase refunds. :/ It sucks. I am pretty sure you can report improper businesses quite easily though councils and such too, so that might be another option.

I would follow up on the movers after a week by sending them another polite email. Sometimes these companies are just really busy. However, if after around 10 days or two weeks and 2 emails they haven't replied to you at all, I would send a third email that (politely) threatens involving a lawyer. Usually then the companies are a lot more likely to respond ASAP because they don't want to have to pay the fees for a lawyer too. That's what my mother always does when companies try to irgore her and it usually works. She hardly ever had to actually get a lawyer to send a strongly worded letter.
sometimes I think there is a glitch in the matrix cause I'm moving next Saturday 😅 I'm so nervous about that cause I hate moving. it's so stressful 🙈

Taz, I imagine once the company does get back to you, they'll want to know how much it would cost to replace the glass that was broken and/or how much it would cost to replace the entire desk. I recommend having that information at the ready. Hope it gets resolved!

@clickformoretaz Hi Taz, regarding the damage the moving company did: you are legally entitled to a replacement or reimbursement. Sounds as if they are trying to avoid it. Don’t bother about contacting them via social media. Simply send them another email setting them a deadline to when, if they don’t react or make you an offer until then, you will unfortunately have to take legal actions. That is the legally correct route to take and works in 9 out of 10 cases. Good luck 😁👍🏻

you need to file a complaint with the company for damaged property, and you could take them to small claims if you can prove they did it.
It's gotta be a visit there establishment situation. You can do it Taz. As a moving company they will be insured for these situations so no excuses for them.
