The fact that your keeping an ear out to the consumers that support you speaks volumes about your company and why you've been on top for so long. Love this and im a dedicated apogee user as a result of that, along with your amazing quality.
Just waiting for my Apogee Desktop to arrive. Santa I’m waiting!!! A great presentation and the quality & 😢portability sold it for me. Just can’t wait 🎅😉😁👏🏻
Yo I have the Apogee Symphony Desktop, and I’m thinking of getting an external preamp. I’m torn between the Avalon M5 and the UA 710 Twin Finity… which would you recommend? Or would you just rock with the built in preamps? Thanks fam
thanks for the video - I just purchased this and still trying to figure it all out the overview was helpful. So since its "hardware" then the plugins can be used for live streaming? Like on zoom etc ?
You’re welcome! Glad you found it helpful! Yes, the plugins can be used for live streaming on zoom or anywhere else!! For instance, my iPad has no apogee plugins on it, but I’m still able to get the built in DSP for the eq + LA3A compressor (for my vocal chain) from the symphony desktop itself to ‘print’ onto my vocal before it hits the iPad. Just like as if it was Studio hardware! Congrats 🎉🎈🎊🍾 on grabbing it, it’s a great device, please let me know if you have any other questions!
@@iPadBeatMaking awesome thank you ! that was exactly what I was looking for - do any of the plugins have a gate? I have a DBX 286 and it seems like the plugins will replace everything on the DBX except maybe the gate- to help lessen ambient noise
Glad to help! Good question! I’m actually doing my gate in post with Pro-G so I haven’t actually looked into that…but so far from what I’ve seen there isn’t a gate, but I could be wrong, since I haven’t been looking for one.
That of course all comes down to you and your personal needs, and what you find valuable, but even prior to the onboard plugins I really love how the interface sounds and the weightiness it gives my vocals when recording songs. Add in the plugins on board and 3 preamp choices and you’ve got up to 9 different ‘hardware-type’ configuration options for tracking before it ever hits the computer/iOS device. This is truly an unheard of situation for all types of recording, but especially iOS users
If you’re looking to go high high end, and are also a Mac/logic user, I think it has to be Apogee SD but I’ve heard great things about the antelope and the others. AFAIK apogee symphony desktop is the only one that can host plugins directly with no computer which makes them iPad/iPhone compatible
🤔Apogee Symphony is hands down the best in the group that you mentioned....in terms of sound at this price point ...until you bring the RME UCX 2 into the equation. RME is the king of interfaces...it is the Gold Standard for all-in-one sound, preamps, functionality, utility, and stability, it’s simply unmatched and at the $1500 price point this is the easy choice.
@@Newerasamearea I have an Element and a Zen Go...the Zen Go 100% sounds better but definitely NOT as reliable. I say go with the Audient iD series, you save money and the front end sounds better than all of them.
@@bigdap100 I find it marginal and subjective. Personally I prefer apogee sound and the plugins are killer as is mac integration. But latency hounds will want rme and plugin hounds still want apollo + no-one agrees on which unit sounds best. truth be told the sonic differences with id4 or even focusrite won't be heard by the listener so it's a question of workflow and affordability as a priority I reckon.
I wish they can make easier to move plugins page on symphony desktop touch screen (ex.analog 1 to analog 2) The software have a bug when I move plug-in from first to next (ex.ABCD to BACD) apogee FX rack will get some bug I need to do “no plugin” on Logic FX and try to add apogee FX again , and then problem will be fix it
Very informative, gonna be a hard pass from me on such as investment. The way they held out on certain points which were used to convince & make sales seems terribly disingenuous. Very not cool. They really owe their customers big time who have been so patient.
You shouldn’t of even did a video on this fam! Don’t nobody care about this shyt if it can’t be used on IPAD OR IPHONE 📲 MR. iPad beat making, don’t disappoint me like this again🤞🏾😤✌🏾
Apogee 👎 WTF did they NOT include Loopback in the mixer??? That’s utterly ridiculous.... And why are they scamming for their plugins, you have a “limited” license to use them...that’s frikkin greedy. they are ruining their reputation for me. I got all their plug for free in a promotion but if I had to buy them today I would pass on the brand entirely. I find myself using my RME gear way more often.
Hey there! Loopback (aka "Assign to SW Inputs") on Symphony Desktop has been available since Day 1. As a matter of fact, you can assign two separate mixers as Software Inputs so you get a greater flexibility. Let us know if you have more questions. -GregC Edit: spelling
@@apogeedigital I’ve owned 2 Apogee Interfaces, Quartet and Element 46, and had no idea about Loopback. Why don’t you guys tout the full functionality of your products? And Why do you charge so much for your plugins and limit their functionality?
@@bigdap100 The "Assign to SW Inputs" functionality was first introduced with Symphony Desktop and now available on Duet 3 as well, but it's not available on Quartet. Element 46 has a similar feature by using Mixer 1 L/R as inputs in your DAW. What plugins are you referring to, and what functionality do you feel that's limiting to you?
Do you think a refurbished unit is "safe" ? I got one from Apogee that doesn't sit flat on the table and the knob is a bit wobbly. It's a dirty in spots too but whatever. Apogee said I can swap it for another refurbed one that should sit flush. OR I buy a new one using my educational 20% discount. $900 vs $1200 new.

Rock with the built in preamps for sure!!! They’re great!!
Two questions. 1. Does this device work well with Ableton 10? 2. If I'm recording keyboard, do I have to record vocals separately on this device?

Please let me know if the optical inputs and outputs work with iOS/iPadOS?
I haven’t tried the optical ports since I’m not currently using any equipment with one, so I can’t say 100%, although I believe they do.
Is the Apogee Symphony worth its price when using an iPad Pro for music production?

Easy. Avoid antelope (poor reliability). If you have a mac get apogee element. If not then get either apollo or apogee or rme.
