Compared to Alcaraz, Novak had some tough opponents on his way to the winning Gold. Nadal, Tsitsipas, Mussetti & Alcaraz . The scary thing is that all are clay court specialists and previously have given some tough fights to Djokovic. Despite of that, he managed to defeat all of them without losing a single set with an injured leg. Something unbelievable. He is the undisputed GOAT & Mental Champion in any sport. Proud to witness an era of this legend.
I feel alcaraz is a better grass /hard court player than on clay .. faster courts seem to help his game a bit more i feel … he won roland garros but he is a much better player on other surfaces is what i have seen so far

In the heat of the moment, it probably didn’t seem possible to Alcaraz that Djokovic would go for that shot, from that position, with that kind of power. I think he actually thought he had Djokovic on the defensive, and maybe he might have to worry about a gutsy winner attempt down the line. That crosscourt shot was devastating!
Yeah that's what I think too. He was feeling positive after erasing djokovic's minibreak to tie at 2-2. But as soon as Djokovic hit that legendary shot to break again, Carlos' body language changed. Mentally it broke him and he lost all 4 points after that.

This match was finished at 1:51 of this video. That brutal cross court forehand shook down alcaraz's confidence. If he doesn't forget this match soon, he might perform poorly for the rest of the season like he did last year after losing the final of Cincinnati 2023. Novak is best of all time and still playing at insane level. Alcaraz should not forget if there is any player who is equal to or better than djokovic, it is him. Despite loss, ALcaraz still remains a nightmare match for djokovic. Kid just need to adopt Rafa mentality i.e try to improve each day.
