I photographed one of the last sets in Kansasville, WI many years ago. Didn't know there were rare until a later issue of MHRA's magazine told me they were gone. Glad you got this one.
I can remember having a wig wag in the small Ohio town where I lived back in the early 1970's. I'm thinking it originally belonged to the New York Central or possibly the Pennsylvania RR. It was an overhead type that swung from a gantry.
This takes me back to simpler times. I love it.....thanks for sharing 👍
Alco Power thank you! Glad you enjoyed!

Alas, this one too is now extinct-it has been removed as of March 2021 and will be part of a railroad museum’s exhibits henceforth.
That's the same line with all the semaphores too, isn't it? Man, what a historical treasure trove ...
I am trying to convince the National Park service to designate it as a protected area.
It's also the last remaining wig-wag signal in the state.
That's actually not true. There's one at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley, Colorado.
There used to be a wig wag at Holly Colorado but it was replaced with standard flashing lights.

I wonder many trains have passed by this signal, going back to the days of the Super Chief.
Only railfans can understand why I saved this to my favorites file lol
