My favourite thing to learn is that the sorority girls tried some of the traps that you featured that worked brilliantly for you, but didn't catch a single mouse for them. That highlights the skill you have in catching them that may not be apparent. Also, catching mice in different places seems to require different methods, which I hadn't thought of before. I'm definitely going to send a link to this video to a friend of mine who has had problems with mice in her basement. I love all of your videos, but this one might be the most practical for people who have their own mouse problems rather than a passing curiosity like I do. I definitely hope to see more of these!

Might want to place the traps near their source of water because they tend to nest no less than 20 ft away. The compressors behind refrigerators and freezers are very common nesting spots

Not that your videos weren't high quality, but the quality in this video is WAY better. I love the new style of filming too. It feels much more fluid and personal. We are really only used to seeing you film in one spot with cuts between locations, the fluidity of this video improved the quality SO much. Though the style of filming was completely different, it still had those classic Sean Woods video elements like the motion camera set up and the detailed explanations. Fantastic video!!
Set them all, except the antique traps of course, but the rolling log, the walk the plank style, and any type of mouse and rat traps, because there might be rats there as well.

I found that some mice really prefer different food. Trying to see what food they ate in the pantry and use that for bait is a good option. I once had a mouse that really wanted only biscuits, peanut butter, chocolate and cheese didn't work.
Imagine mice watching other mice eat food and thinking that they are trash for eating such 'lesser' food. "I only eat pecans and premium cheese, not like you lowly peasant mice!"
I was told by a friend who works for a pest control company that they use cotton balls hooked into the trigger plate. They like fluffy stuff for nesting. Since the cotton balls are hooked into the trigger, they have to tug to get it free. That seals their fate!
@@hjc4604 yea you pull a little cotton from a cotton swab for your ear and cover it with peanut butter. Then you put the peanut butter covered cotton under the trigger hook on those wooden Victor mouse traps. When the mouse bites down on the peanut butter covered cotton it gets stuck in their teeth and they try to yank off of it and pull the trigger and then.........SNAAAAP

My go to bait, most anything Thats been eaten and left on a plate, so now I use pancake that I’ve chewed a couple times and then put that on the traps. Works every time. Your tips on how and where to set the traps has made a huge difference! Thank you for your videos!!
I've done a lot of live trapping, both for myself and for others. Small pieces of apple have worked very well. A few little pieces outside the trap, and a few right at the entrance, then a few leading to the back of the trap. Very small pieces, so the mice don't fill up. Maybe the size of a sunflower seed. Then a larger piece at the end. Quick oats have also been helpful for leaving a light trail and leading them into the traps. It's good if they get rewarded by going closer and going inside.
my record is 35 mice in 48 hours, second year we lived in my house we had a mouse problem i set about 20 traps, mostly regular snap traps and one electric one they went off like crazy day and night. we ended up getting 2 cats to control the mice have not had problems since

My go to bait, most anything Thats been eaten and left on a plate, so now I use pancake that I’ve chewed a couple times and then put that on the traps. Works every time.
Your tips on how and where to set the traps has made a huge difference! Thank you for your videos!!
I've done a lot of live trapping, both for myself and for others. Small pieces of apple have worked very well. A few little pieces outside the trap, and a few right at the entrance, then a few leading to the back of the trap. Very small pieces, so the mice don't fill up. Maybe the size of a sunflower seed. Then a larger piece at the end.
Quick oats have also been helpful for leaving a light trail and leading them into the traps. It's good if they get rewarded by going closer and going inside.

my record is 35 mice in 48 hours, second year we lived in my house we had a mouse problem i set about 20 traps, mostly regular snap traps and one electric one they went off like crazy day and night. we ended up getting 2 cats to control the mice have not had problems since
