hello! generally the weave of the fabric itself would be enough to hold the threads in. but i would recommend ironing on a backing (like those used for embroidery patches) to the inside of the bags especially if you'll be using it often to prevent any snagging. you can also apply a layer of fabric glue but it might stiffen the fabric.
hello!! i would not recommend using a tufting gun as most totes uses fabrics with weave that do not allow as much give that is needed for tufting. secondly, given how the gun works, you wont be able to tuft directly on the tote without deconstructing the tote bag first!
Hi! I’m wondering where u bought ur punch needle? It’s smaller in size than the regular right? I tried this with the regular but i’m hving no luck. I also bought like a size 16 but the yarn wont get in 😭😭😭 i guess ur punch needle is perfect in size for canvas
hello K! sorry i tried searching but cant find it. i did find a similar one (link below) which i believe you can also find it on amazon. otherwise, a lavor punch needle should work too. if you dont wish to purchase another tool, just use your current one on your monks cloth and then cut it out and fabric glue it onto your canvas bag - that works too :) c.lazada.sg/t/c.bzZaBL?sub_aff_id=DIY+Embroidery+Pen+1.3%2F1.6%2F2.2mm+Diameter+Plastic+Needles+&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lazada.sg%2Fproducts%2Fdiy-embroidery-pen-131622mm-diameter-plastic-needles-threaders-clothing-knitting-punch-sewing-needle-tool-i1699677445-s8247083084.html
hi! i've not tried so i wouldnt be able to advise. but if you do, i would definitely recommend putting it in a wash bag and use the cold water setting and delicate cycle.
thank you Kay! ive only hand-washed it so far and they turned out ok! i did knot my threads for the 2nd bag ('not today' line art) actually as i was also worried they wouldnt hold as tightly compared to the other two. another way you can secure the threads if you're worried, is to apply fabric glue behind but it may stiffen the yarn/fabric.
hi! you can apply fabric glue or an iron-on backing like Heat n Bond fusible interface or something like this: c.lazada.sg/t/c.bwMBVB?sub_aff_id=Serenable+Soft+Non+Woven+Interfacing+Interlining+Fabric+Easy+Iron+on+for+Patchwork+Craft&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lazada.sg%2Fproducts%2Fserenable-soft-non-woven-interfacing-interlining-fabric-easy-iron-on-for-patchwork-craft-i1159180626-s4553164999.html
ugh i should have watched this video first I just got into punch needle after using a beginner kit and i want to do more so i went to buy monk cloth I actually have lots of tote bags at home T_T
@@ayecandy_ there was no monk cloth in the store so i bought burlap but I'm not fond of the texture and smell actually so i use an unused tote bag to punch a coaster but the fabric kind of rips off :( any suggestion? should I find a tote bag that is a bit thicker? or should I just use burlap cloth... all advice is appreciated thx
@@Doongi2 oh, hmm it could be because your punch needle is too thick for the fabric of your tote or the fabric of your tote is just too tightly woven, so the needle makes a hole in your bag, rather than loosening up the weave to make way for your yarn. if you have a tote bag that is not tightly woven/constructed, you can try again. but if not, i think it might be easier for you to just use the burlap cloth. it could actually make a good practice piece first!

What’s the material of the tote bag? Is it cotton or canvas?
so helpful and such cool editing!! thank u!!
glad that it is helpful for you! :D
The white one is my favourite! 😍
it's mine too
the 3rd tote bag is my favourite!💗 i also just wondered what size needle and type of yarn did you use for this project? thanks!! :)
it ended up being my favourite too ^^ needle size 2.5mm! i used cotton yarn, except for the blue (cotton blend)
I also want to ask same..thank you
Thank you 🎉
I just started punch needle. Can you please tell me what size needle and yarn you need to punch needle a tote bag?
Would you mind sharing where you got your hoops from? I'm having trouble finding ones that aren't circular. Thanks!
Can we try on every tote bag or just tote bags of weaver material
Hello, how do you make sure that the threads won't come off?
hello! generally the weave of the fabric itself would be enough to hold the threads in. but i would recommend ironing on a backing (like those used for embroidery patches) to the inside of the bags especially if you'll be using it often to prevent any snagging. you can also apply a layer of fabric glue but it might stiffen the fabric.
Backing for sure
Beautiful work! Did you put any backing on the inside of the bag?
Have the same question
Is it the same yarn that we use for crocheting?
Can it be done on cotton fabric?
Hellow! Is it possible to use a tufting gun on the tote bag or will it be damaged?

Needle link?
what’s a tote bag? can anyone share the link with me?
Super 👍
thank you!
Can these be machine washed?

Hi! Super nice craft! Just curious if when u wash the bags, will the thread loosen too? Can we knot it at the start and at the end?

What kind of fabric is this?
most tote bags should work, but I would recommend one that is sturdier to start with!
What I mean is the name of the fabric that you have been using
in this video.
@@bellas9975 the black one is just your regular canvas tote bag! as for the white one, i think it is 100% cotton

ahh you can still use them for other projects! if not, you can also punch and cut them out and paste/sew onto your tote bags like iron-on patches :)
