@@cpeterson5910 bruh, even if is was still (I say still bc he def used to be) a crybaby, that would never change the fact that crosby is still indisputably, one of the greatest hockey players, who has, and most likely will ever live.
I've been coaching Midget hockey for 10 years. The standard nets for any type of hockey on ice are 6'x4' with 2'' steel posts. The nets are secured by steel pegs or the "flexible" ones like the N,H.L. uses.
@@casinoJ. also, it did have pegs in, if you look closely, the pens actually left a trail, and, when the net abruptly stopped, that was the pegs falling back into place
@@casinoJ. also, you can tell that you have never played hockey before, bc even with no pegs in, that is by no means "easy". Considering that an NHL net typically weighs 81-121 pounds, and an NHL puck weighs about 6 ounces (.375 pounds)
Holy crap, every shot he takes knocks that net back! There's no way in hell I'd jump in to block that rocket. Not to mention the accuracy. He just lined up 5-6 pucks and hit the bar and in EVERY SINGLE TIME. And this is the first shot? No re-shoots? I want lessons from him, dayum.
@momimhungry there is a peg in the net. it isnt pegged but it still makes it much more difficult to literally lift the net off the ice and move it back a foot and a half
I know this won't put the "debate" to rest, but I am friends with one of the Reebok product representatives and he was present during the shoot of the video, and it is real, meaning there was no post production work done. Also, the right post of the net is in the ice, while the left one was not. You don't have to take my word for it though...
@voldagar true, but if u really look at a couple of the shots the net does move before the puck hits the net. im not doubting that you can move the net with a shot, but moving it like 3 feet like he did on the last shot, thats just way exaggerated.
I highly doubt it's fake, people who say the fourth shot net jumps before the puck hits it aren't seeing that the puck hits the crossbar frist. My team shoots before practice and the net is halfway on the the other side. He's got a fricken rip of a shot
@Wodey25 Hmm... that is a pretty unique situation. This may sound completely dumb of me, especially being a league hockey player for 5 years, but I never knew that they discontinued sticks. I mean, I thought they still kept making them, just slowed down on production... Very interesting, that's is a pretty cool story :) Wonder what happened to the stick he donated...
@rangers75 The whole net looks like it is moving first because the puck hits the crossbar or side bar first. Listen carefully and the movement matches the sound of the puck hitting metal. Also, most NHL slap shots are around 100mph and the net is not staked in, anything that touches the net is going to move it. The harder the shot the more the movement
I think this is real. There's no point of faking it. Sidney Crosby is one of the most talented hockey player now, he's 5"11 and 200 lbs...imagine how heavy he is for his height. I cannot doubt about his shot power.
I dont think the net moves early, i think the sound of the puck striking the pipe is delayed, just like it would be if you are on the other side of the glass.
@insaneboy683 I can't remember who it was, but some player called up his college's hall of fame to get one of his old donated sticks back when they discontinued them and he couldn't find another one he liked for a few months.
Does the net move before the puck hits it in pond hockey, and do you use a regulation iron hockey net to play hockey, (90-125lbs/41-57kg)? Because I don't think even Chara can move the net with a .35lb hockey puck. Not enough mass to transfer inertia...
Anyone else wondering why it doesn't show from the net to the left? I think they have someone tugging it with a line. A slapshot is not going to move it that easy. Look at the mass of the puck vs the mass of the net. Not saying Sid doesn't have talent though, just this ad is a bit much.
@Brahmos RUclips doesn't work like that buddy. The vid gets downloaded and can only play what has already been downloaded. I can watch it over and over again it's not lag lol.
Hell yeah Crosby can shoot. He can shoot faster and more accurately than anyone I've played with, and I've played with some awesome shooters. That doesn't discount the fact that the net is tied to a string and (poorly) tugged during the shots, and edited in post-production. Don't discount the fact that in order to be THAT accurate he most likely had to take a little bit off of his shot, so it's not even the hardest HE can shoot.
This video is a classic.
anyone else notice how fucking sick his last shot was
@U Betcha holy shit it scared me so bad
Bro stop cursing
He can swear all he wants.

Thats some power the way that net moves like that!
I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it. It's mad!
That scared me
Amazing
@LifeHasLived The third and second last shot were clearly obvious the net moves before the puck hits it.
Crosby is my favourite player and my idle
He’s insane he put the net back!
wow .. he put the net back onto its moorings. … that was just neat!

i just think that its amazing that datsyuk did that on his backhand with the net stands on in a game. both are incredibly skilled players.
the accuracy is insane. so effortless.
Looks like a mad scientist plotting something out there. Goosebumps.
When not every shot was bar down
For those who may not know.... that net (which he is casually knocking across the ice) is 100lbs
01:06 !!!
Bar down on all the last shot the front of the net came off the ice...Sid is the best.
Sydney got me to flinch big time ! Ed Giacomin would have gloved that one ! WoW !
I don't know why people hate on the guy so much, he's really skilled and I hope he comes back

The only ads on the boards say Reebok, he is wearing a Reebok hat, jacket, and presumably pants, and this was uploaded by reebok... seems legit
The shot that happens between 0:46 and 0:47 - the net moves a split second before the puck actually hits the mesh.
He shot at the glass and I freaking dodged that thang in real life
This was filmed at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, ON
Can’t believe this was 12 years ago
