    2:39 look at the goalie just flicking his arm up and saving the easy shot.
    Looks so cool, he's doing it so casually. I know it's a very easy shot but still, you can see that the reflexes are there.

    One of if not the best two way players in hockey, ultra skilled as a stickhandler, sportsmanlike, fun to watch. I love Datsyuk, and would definitely put him in my top five forwards in the world (Ovechkin, Crosby, Stamkos, Datsyuk, Malkin). I'll give that Datsyuk outclasses Crosby as a defensive player (constantly the most takeaways in the NHL), and as a stickhandler, but he doesn't have Crosby's vision, shot, passing ability, explosiveness, or puck control.

    Yip, different game!. Not near the clutching/grabbing, goon intimidation, and red lines which made it harder to create a scoring play as seen G's era. Crosby doesn't have to deal with these today which made it tougher to score. Many suggest the goalies ALL sucked in 99's era=BS. Although some of the goal tending may not have been as good, there were very solid/great G: Roy, Barrasso, Richter, Smith, Vanbeezbrook and others. So,one said if Sid keeps up his pace, he'll hit 1400 pts when he's at the late stages of his career. Honestly that is pretty amazing-really! But, to put this into perspective, if Sid does this, he will have achieved HALF the points of Gretz who achieved 2800plus points. Sid is definately NOT in the same category as 99.He is great (like Sakic or Stevie Y), but not super great like 99 or 66.

    sidney crosby is IMO the greatest technical hockey player ever - every single aspect of the game in terms of skill set (edgework, stckhandling, shooting, dekeing, eye/hand co-ord., protecting the puck, one hand on the stick) he has worked so hard at; and through talent and hard work has honed those skills to an unprecedented level. backhand at 4:13 - wow. i cannot think of one single player in the history of the game who embodies it all like crosby. gretky - brilliant mind, eye for the game. lemieux - 6'6" beast with great hands, neidermeir - stride, howe - strength and toughness, richard - heart and determination. orr - athleticiism but not one had it all like crosby. thought? comments? input?

Gretzky and Lemieux figured them out and exposed them. Crosby or Stamkos playing in the 80s would have scored 100 goals each, Ovechkin too cause he's selfish.

    I'm tired of hearing the argument that Crosby has a cup And two gold medals and ovechkin doesn't. Ovechkin's team suck and would be a bottom feeder along with Edmonton and buffalo if they didn't have him. The penguins win without Crosby and barely notice he's gone. With world class player like malkin he can just float along for the ride when he's not playing well or hurt. If Ovechkin gets in a slump ( he never gets hurt) the whole team starts to suck. When the penguins won the cup Crosby was invisible and malkin won MVP. When Canada won gold Crosby was invisible for the whole tournament both times. Plus Crosby is fragile and you can't be considered the best player in the world if you a hurt hAlf the time.

    • @olliebishop1870
      @olliebishop1870 9 лет назад

      Ipaddlesaac Ovechkin also hasn't won a cup because he is too much of an individual and not focused on the success of the team. There is no point winning Maurice Rocket Richard trophy every year when Ovechkin has never made it past the 2nd round of the playoffs. Seems to be the way with a lot of Russian players and become more evident in the Olympics, some of the biggest names in hockey: Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk and they fall every year.

    • @alahhart3368
      @alahhart3368 5 лет назад

      You nee new glasses s obviously you can't see straight nor think Straight. Canada won gold was 2010 with Crosby scoring the big one. 2016 scoring and giving Canada a cushion, There may be some close but no one is as talented as Crosby. He gets hurt because the goons trip, hold , slashings and from illegal hits. Malkin is almost invisible at times. Kessel in a streak player at best. Crosby gives 100% on every shift

    Clutch and grab, hooking, and red lines (Sid never dealt with this obstruction) ...Also! 99 had five 90point plus seasons in the dead puck/trap era (2 seasons well above 100). Besides getting excellent production in the trap era well past his prime, 99 dominated at junior, in the NHL, and internationally-he excelled in EVERY hockey league he played. He was voted athlete of the DECADE by a US biased sports mag. (S.I.) Sid is Sakic great, not Gretzky great. Too much data suggests otherwise. A young Sakic would be on par with Sid.

    • @cityofchamps66
      @cityofchamps66 10 лет назад

      99 had 5 90 point plus seasons? 2 seasons well above 100?? Wayne Gretzky had 4 seasons with 200 or more points, he also had 13 other seasons with 100 or more points; might want to do some research on that otherwise suggestive data

    • @vonmilash823
      @vonmilash823 10 лет назад +1

      Apples and oranges Billy Bob. Gretzky is the greatest ever, but Sid is the greatest of his era easily. Gretzky played when scoring was in far more abundance. Goalies were smaller and didn't butterfly like they do now. Sid is dominating his era probably as Well as Gretzky dominated his, or very close to it.

    • @mattsev9134
      @mattsev9134 10 лет назад +1

      cityofchamps66 Try re-reading what he said: "5 x 90+ point seasons in the DEAD PUCK/TRAP ERA"

    • @cityofchamps66
      @cityofchamps66 10 лет назад

      Matt Sev Not sure what that means, Gretzky scored 92 goals in a season and had 4 seasons with 200 points or more? Saying he had 5, 90 point seasons would be like saying Barry Bonds hit 45 home runs when he actually hit 70??? It doesn't make sense

    • @mattsev9134
      @mattsev9134 10 лет назад

      cityofchamps66 The dead puck/trap era started in the mid to late 90's and was a more defensive style of play. A team would clog up the neutral zone making it much harder for the opposing team to generate offensive chances. Gretzky's 200 point+ seasons you were referring occurred before the Trap era when it was easier to score goals. That's not to say Gretzky isn't the best offensive player of all time, but that he played in an era (the 80's) that is generally considered to be the top era for scoring.
      The point that Billy Bob Mirango was trying to make was that even in this defensive trap style of hockey, Gretzky was still able to put up 90+ point scoring seasons, even while being past the prime of his career. He wasn't at all discounting Gretzky's recording breaking scoring seasons.

    Using one hand on the stick and coasting with your skates are waste of practise time. Crosby is till the best overall player in the world.

    It would be an honour to be scored by Sid. His shot especialy that close to the net is deadly and perfection.

    There are great players in every era Lafleur, Bossy in long gone years.... None have dominated like Gretzky. Hockey minds living through many eras agree. Sid is a super star player. I have watched hockey for 4 decades to compare. He is a dominate player but he not a history changer with his hockey greatness like 99. (or 66)

    • @SpartanCL1989
      @SpartanCL1989 10 лет назад +2

      Gretzky was the best ever, but if you look at the goalie stats at that time, they have never been weaker then in the early 80s. You put Crosby in that era in the shape he is in and he would be close to every record.
