Etsy wants us to respond within 24 hours to our customers yet they ignore us. If I’m paying their monthly fee I should be able to get support
What monthly fee? Etsy doesn't have monthly fees.
The $10 is not a fee and isnt half of that just credits
Lol yes they do. It’s $15 just to register a new account. Not to mention $10 a month to keep a shop.
@roguepixie269 The $15 is a one-time fee, not monthly. And it does not cost $10/mo. to keep a shop. If you're talking about Etsy Plus, that's an optional premium plan. It's not required at all to keep a shop open.
Yeah, I don’t see how they can make us respond within 24 hours and yet they say they will take up to 72 hours, and last time I contacted them it took around two weeks to get a response. Hypocrisy in my mind.
In US sellers have to start reporting Etsy to the Better Business Bureau immediately for unfair suspensions, non payments, no customer service, etc. Etsy will respond to that.
hmmmmm, not a bad idea, but sellers would also need to prove they were suspended without violating TOS. But, yes this could work.
BBB no longer has the teeth that it used to. It has become a political organization.
@@nebulousvoid I don’t know but Etsy responded after two months of nothing else working. Only took two days after the complaint with BBB. I’m guessing they are getting a lot of complaints about Etsy…
BBB is a joke. It's not a real watchdog, but a private business that happily takes business's money for membership. It's a brand only, and illusion.
Nobody gives a damn about the BBB.
We need a new platform. Let's just replace Etsy altogether.
Many are going to the platform goimagine. I may start on that platform. I can't see etsy around too much longer with all the boneheaded things that they are doing.
There is no global platform like Etsy. Etsy wanted monopol from start, their first move was to buy all small platforms and integrate it into Etsy.
boycott this tyranny
I am with you on this! Yes! I see that someone mentioned goimagine. I am using Printify's Pop-Up store. Cuts out the middleman.
Etsy would be nowhere without sellers. Giving sellers clear instructions and explanations of rules and procedures is the minimum expected.
I totally agree and maybe they will see this video and make some changes.
Totally agree
I seriously doubt that they will even consider changing anything..etsy super is only there to support etsy..not sellers..well maybe if you have a huge store
I find it baffling that there is no support for the people who are actually making them money and making their business viable. Just bad practise and disrespectful in all the ways.
Obviously they don't want us to be able to reach them.
It doesn’t matter. Where will you go besides Etsy??
At this point the large sellers need to get together and take everything off Etsy. Let there stocks plummet and them lose customers. It has to hit there pockets
I agree!
Actually the best thing is for some large seller to start a competing platform and take all the star sellers away from Etsy. I think this is an entrepreneurial opportunity happening NOW for someone with deep pockets.
Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.
@@tonymiciche7374 I love that idea!
EXTREMELY frustrating!!! My shop was suspended in December without a reason and every time I have contacted them I get the same generic email in response then NOTHING! Thank you guys for making our voices heard!!
reporting Etsy to the Better Business Bureau immediately for unfair suspensions, non payments, no customer service, etc. Etsy will respond to that.
I’m puzzled why no one has created another Etsy Platform. This is such a golden opportunity given so many sellers want to move somewhere else but there is nothing similar!
I always wonder the same thing.
There are a few platforms out there. All it would take is for us to COLLECTIVELY pull out of Etsy and go to Bonanza or anything else, just execute it TOGETHER and let Etsy feel the pain of what happens when you don't take care of the ones who grew your platform for them. Anybody ready to create a sellers community and TRULY take action???
Theres macari too. My sister sells on there. She does quite well.
@@amyscardandparty we can't sell on Bonanza from outside the US 😓
@@racemom777 what does she sell? It doesn't look good, it's like an online flea market or something 😅
I can’t imagine Etsy is unaware… they just don’t care.
Well, then we need to be the squeaky wheel and get louder.
@@brandcreatorscrossing fingers it helps!!
I can imagine them oblivious.
@@nebulousvoid lol…that’s true, too…
They don’t care at all because you’re not going to leave .. leaving the platform is the only option to get their attention.. when they start losing money ! Even if they did start fixing things I won’t be coming back due to my experience
The entire no support thing is just baffling to me, a company this size does not have any support for its sellers. how did they even get this far?!?!?!?
I tried to open a shop yesterday. This is after purchasing various courses, investing hours and hours of time learning and creating things, opened the shop, got it all set up, submitted my bank account (they already stole the start up fee), confirmed my email etc. Went to bed and came back in the morning to add items and found the account suspended. I clicked to appeal and filled out the form. An hour later i was sent another form email saying we reviewed your shop again and its staying suspended. It says i have no course of action. I didnt even list products. So now what? Can i even try to open a shop under another email address? This is just nuts. But of course, they stole the start up fee immediately. Now I've got to contact my bank to get it back. What a joke.
That seems to happen so often.
😤😤😤 Unbelievable!
exactly the same happened to me - didn't even get a product up, except for the dummy listing.
Copperpenny, do have have another Etsy shop that was suspended and you tried to create a replacement account? Your new account can't be suspended unless you're replacing a suspended account.
@@carolh2745 No, this wasn't a replacement account for one that was suspended. I don't have any suspended accounts. I have a personal account that I make etsy purchases from but don't have a shop.
I have never been suspended, however I am now afraid to spend much time improving my shop because of fear of shut down. I feel I should put my work in elsewhere.
I'm in the same boat. So far so good on not being suspended. But it's just a matter of time that it will happen to you and to me.
Sadly it will happen one day.
I just got suspended today for absolutely no reason. I sell vintage cookbooks!
How is it legal to take the $15 fee, shut down a shop within a day and not refund the fee? Is this just a money making scheme because many stores never sell anything? Someone make it make sense.
I’ve been with Etsy since 2009 and I am done. I will be letting my listings expire through June and I won’t be renewing them. They’ve let too many non-handmade people in and I can’t compete with a lot of the non- handmade stuff. I used to sell a lot of my handmade stuff years ago but it’s gotten down to almost nothing now.
But my biggest gripe is nobody else charges me to list. I don’t have to pay to play anywhere else. If I sell I pay but if I list I don’t and I am tired of paying $.20 per item because a lot of my items are inexpensive items and that makes up a big chunk of my expenses keeps me from listing things I probably would list but it’s just not worth it. So I’ve got other platforms I’m moving to and I will no longer be selling on Etsy after the end of June. I’ll keep my buyer but I won’t be selling any longer .
That's so sad, You've obviously worked so hard for 15 years, this must have been a heartbreaking decision. I wish you luck with your new platform x
I wanna know where you’re going, lol. I tried eBay and have an Etsy but scared to post really.
@@corimyers4985 Best thing you can do is get your own website.
now they're allowing Chinese stores in....we saw what that has done to Amazon sellers
Etsy are making millions and they just don't care. What's an alternative?
My shop got shut down due to infringement, and to this day, I still find shops selling the same images. I suspect a competitor filed a fake complaint ..to this day I can buy on there, but not sell... incredible!
My friend had a shop shut down after an animal activist targeted him, harrassed him, then reported him to etsy for animal cruelty. The reason? My friend had a decal in his shop that he makes that said, "My Pets Poop Breakfast" with a picture of a chicken on it.... When etsy shut his shop down, he appealed, and they denied his appeal and told him he can never have an etsy store again. Over a silly sticker.
They are disgraceful!
What a joke. Etsy has really fallen down on the damn job.
But yet, all of these dropshippers and others that don't do any creativity keeps their shops going.
Get out!
Violation of his 1st amendment right.
This needs to go to court. The US Attorney General would be good. I wanted to start an Etsy shop but the stories are a put off because Etsy isn’t responsive. They are also stealing money. Closing a shop right after taking the initial fee with no explanation and no recourse is STEALING. To have nobody to respond to you when you contact is not ideal or fair to people trying to run a business….
I finally put my shop on permanent vacation with a blatant announcement that I’m no longer on Etsy. It was the last straw when they put my shop on reserve for a surge in sales for Mother’s Day when I SELL Mother’s Day gifts exclusively! I’m done. Been on there since 2009. This is ridiculous at this point.
@@absolutefreedom8035no, I sell products that are targeted as gifts for women, but a large majority of those products are given as gifts for Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc. so Mother’s Day is just as big as Christmas for me. But this flagged the system because I suddenly had a 700% increase in sales last month.
@@absolutefreedom8035I’ve been on Etsy since 2009. Etsy doesn’t know what it wants anymore.
You misunderstood what I meant. I sell gifts for women- particularly women who have children.
reporting Etsy to the Better Business Bureau immediately for unfair suspensions, non payments, no customer service, etc. Etsy will respond to that.
They recently did the same to me. Account on reserve and I’ve been on Etsy since 2009 as well.
No shop should be shut down without a warning issued by a HUMAN indicating what policy a Seller has allegedly violated. There should be a chance for the Seller to respond to a HUMAN within 7 to 10 days before any shop shutdown.
Just happened to me, no warning and no reason for permanent suspension, hard work and cash down the pan. Etsysupport just said they not allowed to discuss it? WTF
Me too!! Account got suspended after AI bot found my products on other sites which I sell (Amazon/ebay/mercari). Stating items are mass produced and not handmade and I can't get a hold of a Human:((
yes, we need more support! - and fairness in being notified about a problem, before shutting a store down
No one ever gets notified! No other business operates like that- eBay, Amazon, etc do not do that.
I've recently been thinking about starting an Etsy shop, but all these suspensions are making me wonder if there is any point.
Same for me!!! Still not sure if this is a good idea now...
Same, it's seriously offputting.
I'm in the same boat.
I'd personally not. Sell at fayres and make your own Spotify website. Funnel traffic from Instagram. The way I see it, what's the point of putting so much work into something that can be demolished in a blink of an eye, that can never be rebuilt due to a permanent ban for life? The foundations are too unstable for a business to grow on.
I actually starting getting registered and then I started hearing about the suspensions, refusal to refunds fees, and etc.
As I stated above, no way I'm opening that shop now
wow - this is an eye-opener - with over 1000 products thinking of quitting Etsy now before getting in deeper.
You have to go to the people who own the stock. He needs to be called out on the Network News, for being a horrible businessman!
Yes, I think if you can get Stock holder's attention, he would listen for sure.
Totally disagree, I own stock, while it’s minimal the CEO has his own personal views that HE goes by regardless of what any sellers or stock owners think.
After watching so many videos from creators, I decided not to go down the ETSY pathway so thank you!!
Congratulations 🎉
I’m very disappointed with how Etsy has been handling shop closures lately. Despite selling only handmade products, my shop was shut down without any explanation. I know of eight other shops that have also closed down, and my wife even closed her shop last week out of frustration. It's upsetting to hear about other cases, like the poor lady who had a shop for six years before it was shut down last month.
Why doesn't Etsy shut down the shops selling obvious copycats and violating products, like unlicensed Disney or Toy Story items? These are clear violations of the rules, yet those shops remain open.
I recommend building your own website instead of relying on Etsy, as their platform can be so unpredictable.
reporting Etsy to the Better Business Bureau immediately for unfair suspensions, non payments, no customer service, etc. Etsy will respond to that.
We are considering hiring an attorney to do a Class Action Lawsuit if they do not conduct their business with integrity and disclosure. They will also keep a seller's fund for up to 180 days. Don't tell me that is legal? Etsy is ruining Sellers livelihoods and lives. It is unconscionable that a business partner does not need to respond when you have invested a great deal of inventory to sell on their platform. That constitutes a business relationship in my mind. Yet, Etsy has all the power and control and the Seller has none.
I've seen people open a new first seller account, pay the fee, and then get suspended without even putting any products on. Can't appeal, banned forever without an explanation. Surely that is illegal? They just take the money, ban you for reason they won't specify.
Illegal I think too
Yes - I reported them to 3 domestic regulators and the BBB.
Yes happend to me took money and banned me..
Happened every day all day. I’m convinced they don’t want any more shops that are just making money on these poor people at this point.
With sites like Etsy - You have to get it in the news media and take them to court - Them being online they think they can do what ever the hell they want - They did it with Facebook - Etsy needs to have a turn in the courts!
Sadly, just like with facebook, taking them to court doesn't really do anything (given the 230 defense). The better method tends to be public awareness.
Take them to court without any reason??? I'm an attorney and that's a dumb idea.
@@jarodmorris4408 How is and dumb idea and without reason - They are shutting down multiple people's businesses without any explanations?? Just because they are online, they feel it's ok to do!
@@jarodmorris4408 when they take $23 set up fees plus listing fees and suspend your account within minutes, with no email or explanation why. I've constantly emailed them to ask for a refund as they aren't giving me a service I paid for, I'd class that as stealing. I'm just one person, seems like they are doing this to many people. 1000 people at $23 aud or $15 usd set up fee plus listing costs, that's $23,000 + in their pocket right there, at only 1000 people.
"my local hardware store mildly inconvenienced me. TAKING THEM TO COURT!"
If Josh Silverman says publicly that he doesn’t care if a few accounts that have done the right thing are getting thrown under the bus from the AI suspension system in favour of cleaning up the platform this platform ain’t the place for anyone to built their livelihood on and put 100% honest and true effort in.
I'm one of the sellers thrown under the bus. Two stores suspended today. Two the beginning of August. Etsy does not care about its sellers. Otherwise, we would be able to contact them. That says alot, doesn't it. I'm not doing anything different on the forum than when I began several years back, yet my listings get deactivated and my accounts suspended. Other sellers are selling the exact same items. I've tried everything. Etsy is causing great duress and harm to its sellers.
This situation will cause Sellers to have PTSD. There is a real problem when a selling platform is abusing the people that our assisting them in making money and they have no investment like we do in inventory. Shame on them.
Boycotting Etsy. They don't deserve a penny of my fees or purchases. Sorry, Etsy artists (I was one of you) but this business is no longer ethical.
I think a lot of sellers, like myself are questioning what happened at the end of 2023, where their store was getting sales and now for the past several months....Nothing.??? I have contacted others in my group as I thought it was just my store. Then I heard "Oh I thought it was just my store." We have checked keywords, Titles, photos, etc. and cannot seem to discover what happened.
Same here I went from daily sale to nothing !
I love that you are putting so much effort and voice to small business Etsy owners.
Etsy is irresponsible. A parasite=collect but dont give back
Agreed! This needs to stop! It's just good business to offer SOME KIND of support!
We have been selling on Etsy for over five years and were banned on the grounds that we do not sell handmade products. However, we have been manufacturing swimwear in our own tailoring shop for 20 years. Many of our customers are now upset and have also written to Etsy. My shop got suspended at the beginning of Q4 after my 1st sale. I lost out on Q4 sales since by the time it was reinstated after being suspended “in error” it was too late for customers to receive my products in time for Christmas. I put a lot of work and time into my products and listings. It concerns me that I could be suspended again at any time temporarily or permanently in error or from an unintentional mistake I may make that could be easily resolved if someone would communicate to let me know what needs to be fixed and give me the chance to do so. Etsy needs to support their sellers that are trying to right by Etsy.
I was going to start an ETSY shop but if this doesn’t get addressed soon, I will look elsewhere!
Time for a new platform 😊
I'm not giving up on them yet. It's a really great platform, but like all the others, they have their issues too.
100% agree
My shop was suspended immediately after my first sale, it took over a week to get it back up. Vlad K was helpful with that. Etsy cannot be your only shop, I'm in the process of setting up two others.
who are you using for your other shops if you don't mind me asking, Thanks :)
@@ThemeX666 I set up an Amazon handmade account, getting ready to list products now. When that's done and working I'll set up my own Godaddy shopping sie.
Yes, we definitely need more support! Our shop was shut down without reason-no warning at all! Not just a listing, but our whole shop. We cannot get any support as to how we violated the terms. We have read through them and cannot figure it out, but cannot get any specific explanation, just a blanket letter.
This is pretty scary. I’ve been doing my homework and I was super excited to open up my new shop and start a new business adventure along with my kids and husband. hearing all of this just makes me think I’m gonna go elsewhere. I know I would never intentionally not follow rules, but how do you without knowing the rules. How do you put all your time and effort into something knowing that it can just be taken away at any moment? They are not only losing existing sellers, but future wants to.
I registered a new shop and it was instantly suspended while I was paying the $15 registration fee. I appealed and received the same auto-generated denial response that EVERYONE gets. Reached out to them via Twitter and got no response there either. They took my money and ran. I'm opening a shop on Redbubble instead.
I've had an Etsy shop since 2012 and poor customer service has been the norm.... unfortunately.
Yes, you right, poor support
It's crazy that we all pay for a service, (etsy is a service) and we do not get even basic customer service.
That's why we are working on this. If Etsy is would just give sellers support, the platform would do even better.
Yes, we need support!!!
Yes. Totally right. Etsy does not keep their own rules
Yes we need more support and clarity of rules & regulations !
I stopped buying on Etsy 2 weeks ago. I am a buyer and was suspended for 2 months. During that time, I repeatedly asked to have the account reactivated. I realized I was not dealing with customer service, but AI. I could not contact 2 customers who had not sent merchandise i bought. After 2 months, I got an email saying that it was in "error" that it had been disconnected. Also, during that time, I could not use the "help" button to open up a case. These aren't people I want to do business with.
Same story as many others, spent months researching, designing, followed step by step how to set up an Etsy site by well known Etsy sellers, and was suspended as soon as I listed my first products. Appealed, but I immediately received an email saying I would stay suspended. I did NOTHING against any policys. Starting my own website now, won't ever shop on Etsy again.
New shop suspended after 3 weeks for no reason. Appealed denied. Am now selling on EBay
I've tried and it's even worse. No views, no sales. eBay seems dead. Not sure if I'm missing something there 😢
@@LauraPD I set up an ebay shop too and crickets. I gave up on ebay
@@LauraPD Yeah, ebay isn't what it used to be. I used to kill it on ebay many years ago. I stopped selling there a couple years ago because it became a ghost town.
@@LauraPDYes it’s a dead zone 😂
I’m trying eBay right now. I had a successful Etsy shop until Etsy suspended it (78,000 sales), so I know my items sell. However, eBay is crickets for me. I sell gift items and just checked similar items on eBay, only to be shocked by how Chinese sellers are dominating the platform. I can't even buy my supplies for what these sellers are charging, and many include free postage too.
I used to sell on eBay before I opened my Etsy shop in 2016, and I did very well there. It was some of their customers that made me want to leave. Personally, I think Etsy is heading the same way as eBay. It might take years to happen, but it seems inevitable.
Almost every megacorp has a pyramidal structure. In this instance sellers are as replaceable as minimum wage grunts.
The top of the pyramid always shows contempt for the bottom. To them we are as disposable as toenail clippings.
In 2023 Etsy tried to prevent class action lawsuits by placing a mandatory arbitration clause into the Terms of Use. Makes it harder to fight and reduces accountability. Indie Sellers Guild has some good info on that to read more. I smell a class action brewing though.
It's absolutely crucial that long-time sellers and honest sellers don't just get shut down but have a chance to change things if something isn't following a guideline before getting shut down without being able to correct or understand it.
I also find it very disturbing, that suddenly it is flooded with chinese low-prize stuff instead of really hand-made things.
And that THOSE accounts seem to not be affected at all.
i wanted to start an Etsy this year, but right now I don't think this is a good idea.
Knowing that you wouldn't get shut down for NO reason would go a long way for long-time sellers to feel confident in doubling down on the platform for sure.
Can we send a call out to betrayed Etsy sellers and just leave Etsy and GROW on an alternate platform. There are a few platforms out there. You got any connections? We are listening :-)
@brandcreators, when you search for "do you have a good news story contact" on Google, CBS pops up as the first link. Though I'm not entirely familiar with the process in the US, it might be worth putting together a concise synopsis of the issue and sending it to different media outlets. The practices observed on platforms like Etsy, if replicated in real life, would likely not be tolerated, and where legal actions could potentially be pursued for what appears to be either a significant oversight or a scam."

I'm one of those. I started making a certain item and selling it in my antique booth. It's been a massive hit with my customers, and they always ask me if I have an Etsy shop. I started searching about Etsy because I get asked so often, and there are so many people that have had negative experiences that I'm not going to even try. Nothing else is different and I suspect I got flagged by Etsy security bots as suspicious. I appealed straight away and got the automated reply that my account is now permanently suspended! Countless potential and former Etsy sellers have bailed because of the lack of communication and clarity at Etsy. Something needs to change. I had a listing on two of my shops that were taken down. No explanation. Then I found out both shops were shut down. No explanation. I appealed and they said that they can’t comment the reason behind the decision to close both of my shops. But they could not let my shops be open again. I then emailed back and asked what rule I violated. No response at all.
I am in the same boat. They suspended shop stating not handmade!! When I actually make all my items! No response. AI reads and replies to all the email.
I have 2 suspended etsy shops and actually lost hope of the platform
Our girl Starla did a video and she had over 300 stores contact her begging to get their stores reinstated. That many from one video she made. That is insane!
Yes, and the vast, VAST majority of those shops were not shut down "for no reason". The amount of time she and Marc had to spend vetting these shops to make sure they really were wrongfully suspended/shut down before being able to add them to the list to send to Etsy was sickening, because most of these sellers knew better. When questioned by Starla, many wouldn't even answer her, because they knew what they were doing was wrong. They were taking advantage of a kind and caring person. It makes me so mad that there are so many dishonest people out there.
@@erinn5055 Yeah, it aggravates me that people do that. It's one thing if you are breaking a rule that you not aware of. But when you are flat out breaking rules like selling Disney products or something like that where you obviously know that you are in the wrong, then that is a completely different thing. They ruin in for the rest of the people that really had a shop shut down for no reason. The lack of integrity with some of these people are astounding. SMH
Yes! Let's make it happen!!
I just got suspended today for no reason and was told that I wasn't even allowed to forward the suspension email they sent me to anyone else because it's "proprietary". I've been selling vintage cookbooks and kitchen items since 2019 and never had an issue. I had to cancel 2 outstanding orders totaling $150 and am unable to use my account until they respond to my appeal. I am beyond livid. This is my livelihood!
I’m going through the same thing right now. It truly is devastating to lose your Etsy shop. In the past, if there was an issue, you could at least have a real email conversation with the Etsy Trust & Safety Team and eventually get some resolution. Now, there seems to be zero support for sellers. I've heard that they now outsource their customer support, which would explain the change in the quality of support, or rather the lack of it.
Good luck with your appeal.
I am puzzled why cant Etsy develop a tutorial video once new Etsy seller come onboard (dont do the listing first till they finish viewing the tutorial) and if the said new seller doesnt follow and got suspended (Etsy should be transparent to share what policy and with tick boxes where sellers breach the policy and the list should appear on their dashboard), i think that's valid coz it written what they didnt follow and its crystal clear what had been breach. That way new sellers is able to know on the spot their mistake is and Etsy is able to minimize angry sellers and the standard email that is so so vague. If new sellers are wrongly suspended, they can appeal according to what was breach. That would also save Etsy staff the time to resolve the issue as well instead of reading long appeals. It makes more sense that way since Etsy is adding features like Gift Mode, Growth tips and the beta calculation. Anyway, this is my opinion 😅
That would be too easy :)
Yes, we need more support!
Yes I have been suspended for no reason even though the shop is rated five stars!!
Yes,we need more support to being heard!!not to ignore us,no more this attitude from them
Thanks for commenting and helping us get the video seen.
Josh, please hear our concerns.
All sellers should get answers, can not believe the suggestion that at least those who make a good amount of money, should get answers! Since we ALL pay our fees, and we ALL should get answers. We ALL have the right to be heard.
Here is correspondence I just received from Starla regarding the Etsy situation: Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing I can do to help. The only contact I had at Etsy has now left the company and Etsy will no longer respond to my emails.
I am 100% in the dark. I wish I had advice or a suggestion to help you reach support, but there are none.
Etsy support is nonexistent. I personally appreciate what YOU are doing to try and Help the Etsy Selling Community.
Store suspended because I present a security risk. I’m a retired pensioner…selling vintage stuff. What kind of risk do I present?
I've had two listing deactivated in the past week and a half over supposedly not complying with the handmade policy. I opened a support ticket for the first one ten days ago and have heard no reply. After I got the second deactivation, Etsy followed up with an email saying if I had another violation my shop would be suspended. Problem is, I still don't know how my clearly handmade items don't qualify as handmade, and Etsy refuses to tell me so far. What a weird way to run a major ecommerce site.
Keep appealing. The replies are from AI. Hopefully, a real human will eventually look at it.
I’m going through similar right now.
Ps, reverse image the listing photos. Etsy AI might have found your image on a Chinese marketplace. If you find them send the marketplace a takedown notice. Screenshoot the notice and upload to your case.
Good Luck with your case. X
@@SusanFrost-v8q I sell on two other platforms and use the same images, so that's probably what it is.
@@ckindust I am in same boat. I sell exact item and images on Ebay and Amazon. Ai found those images and atta ked listings and now shop is suspended permanently! No human is looking at this. I am devistated
@@SusanFrost-v8qme too. I sell on Amazon ebay and Mercari. Those are all my own items and bots have reported that they are mass produced cuz they found item on Amzon. That's my own item:( Shop is now suspended:(((
Etsy sucks period. Why are people still bothering with it in 2024?
They don't care about sellers, they only care about shareholders.
Shareholders seem to be ruining everything.
The buyers will come back for reasons.😅
Thank you guys. I've had my own issues with reaching Etsy support.
yes we need more Etsy support
Nice summary Scott! If only there had been a single strike system in place I would still be selling on Etsy and putting food on the table!
We're trying to get attention for sellers :-)
Trust me they don't care. It's a money machine and being a publicly traded company it is only important to find ways to bring in more money which means charge the shops more fees. Another shop will open in your place if you get shut down or leave.
Yes, we need more support.
I'm on board. Tell us how to assist you. We will contact lawyers and see if anyone would like to take on a Class Action Lawsuit. As a former Psychologist who had my own counseling practice, I'm sure that there are people out there devasted. We can't sit around until we know that Etsy is responsible for taking lives. There are serious human rights issues when lives are ruined by a selling platform. Families lose their income. The legislature needs to be made aware so that there is required customer service available to sellers who put all their resources on a selling platform.
Yes, we deserve to know why!
“Keep commerce human, in the meantime I will only have bots running the site”they should prison Josh Silverman that “man” is a tool…
Etsy permanently suspended my shop I am devastated .. there is no contact .. what kind of company is this.. they said i violated their handmade policy and stealing listings NOT TRUE.. they said I cannot appeal it . they also are allowing hundreds of other shops to still sell the exact same products I sell... I am totally destroyed .. I disclosed every production partner . I am so upset over this ...no warning just shut down. there should be a CLASS ACTION SUIT against them
Same exact thing happened to me after 6 yrs they closed my shop. I handmade everything:(
Yes, we need more support
This needs to be sorted. This poor customer service model has been adopted from Amazon FBA. Nothing ever makes sense, if you do manage to contact someone the reasoning behind any ‘violation’ is so vague you might as well not bother trying.
Support is most definitely a high point for anyone who is interested in building a real business. Hopefully Etsy will finally recognize that their sellers need a real support system in place.
just got suspended. Mom's business does $40,000.00 a month. She's had it for years. She updated her account yesterday and changed her address from our old house to the new one, (same city). crickets. no information At All. we edit and print your family photo into a 'sticker' for the back of your tie...
so frustrating! I got a final policy violation on a listing that is not in violation! I emailed Etsy days ago and still no response.
Becareful...same happened to me and afetr 5 months Bots atta ked two more listings and now shop got permanently suspended and no answers or humans to talk to! ;( I'm devistated
Agree we need support
Yes, we definitely need more support from Etsy. They should provide a understandable reason why accounts are suspended or terminated.
I know quite a few people who will not even contemplate selling on there, due to the way Etsy gives no support and ghosts their customers. Myself included. They have a bad reputation amongst many people. It's becoming no good for anything other than chinese bulk sellers.
Yes, support is horrible
IM NOT A SELLER BUT AFTER HEARING THIS MESS, IM NOT EVEN GOING TO BEGIN OPENING UP AN ACCOUNT WITH ETSY. 😔 IF EVERY HANDMADE SELLER LEFT THEN ETSY WOULD HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO CHANGE THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES.
my girlfriend just has her shop suspended, their ai is a joke and investors should be aware of how they handle badly their sellers
Their AI atta ked my listings since I also sell on other market places and they said my items are mass produced and closed my shop!! No human to talk to and my income is gone over night!
My friend got an IP violation for something she didn't even sell. No listings were Barbie. They said that she had a Barbie listing and they took her star seller badge! 😢
Hi! Thank you guys for trying to solve this problem for us sellers .
My Etsy is suspended since March with no clear explanation. Every two weeks I check it and same thing is waiting for me . They offer me to file an appeal again and again . Appeal after nothing changes, no message for me , just warning that I am suspended. It is very frustrating 😔
Can we send a call out to betrayed Etsy sellers and just leave Etsy and GROW on an alternate platform. There are a few platforms out there. All it would take is for us to COLLECTIVELY pull out of Etsy and go to Goimagine, Bonanza or anything else, just execute it TOGETHER and let Etsy feel the pain of what happens when you don't take care of the ones who grew your platform for them. Anybody ready to create a sellers community and TRULY take action???
I opened a Etsy store in 2018. Sort of neglected it till this year. Then decided to open a totally new one to start fresh. I was suspended immediately when trying to sync new products to the store. I appealed and was informed it was suspended permanently no reasons explained whatsoever. So I then decided to improve my old store and worked on it for months, Then one morning i purchased a mockup to use for my mugs and immediately my store was suspended! I never received any email. Nothing. No explanations.I have not appealed yet. I am a little scared to since its sort of my last chance of communication with them. Very very disappointed to say the least.
Here's what their "support team" told me to do when my stars got trashed because a customer claimed they never received their purchase even though USPS shows DELIVERED. Ready?
"Get over it and move on."
Feeling like this channel would be well served in pivoting towards supporting sellers on multiple platforms
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, we have used many platforms over the years, so we could very easily help in these areas.
@@brandcreators I'd love to hear your thoughts on which platforms are best to work with these days. It seems like having a presence in multiple platforms generally is the way to go.
I want a new CEO. No more Josh Silverman
