I actually think that you guys should had included the astromech head pieces from sets like the '05 V-wing or the '07 jedi starfighter with hyperboost ring thingy (don't know what it's called) Even though the bodies aren't included the head prints are still very nice and both are exclusive to those sets. I think.
There was a head for R4-P17 in Obi-Wan’s episode III starfighter, and the copper droid he took to Utapau in the Hyperspace Booster Ring. But those were just heads.
I know they didn't have names in the sets, but the Astromech at 7:00 is R2-A5, the one at 7:45 looks like a faded R2-B1 but I'm not sure about him, but the one at 8:00 is definitely R4-P22 when in Anakin's Starfighter, but the one in the V-Wing is a Q7 astromech unit. The droid seen at 1:00 isn't R5-D4, it is R4-D5 (easily confusable) and isnt related to the later R5-D4's. Also R1-G4 is an astromech whom you didn't include, despite his 2 incarnations in Lego. Also technically at 5:30 that astromech is R5-D8 in the X-Wing but R5-D4 in the Sandcrawler, they just look the same in Star Wars. Also the Christmas tree droid at 7:11 Isn't R2-X2 because he is a separate astromech (set 75032,) but I've seen it called XMAS-D2. Also while technically R2-Q2 is an Imperial droid aboard a Star Destroyer, He is suspected to be a double agent, as he is seen aboard the X-wing "Red-3." Also Obi-Wan's replacement droid after R4-P17's death, R4-G9 is seen in set 7662.
“This guy has no name from the y wing fighter set.” That happened with one of my astromechs too. I wonder if LEGO just includes astromechs to make us buy the sets. Maybe not giving them a name is part of the trick, or maybe LEGO let’s us design our own name!
A fair selection of astromechs. One thing I should mention though, the red astro at 0:57 and 3:38 is actually called R2-M5. It was apparently seen in episode I. I haven't seen it in the actual film, just in behind the scenes images. Incidentally, the white & green astro from the sandcrawler set wasn't actually seen in the sandcrawler in episode IV. It was actually seen in Mos Eisley in the original version of the film. In the special edition, it was replaced by a ronto. I think the droid was also used in Wedge's X-wing. Nice to see Lego finally doing transparent domed astros. Hopefully this means we might see more R3 units.
Thank you brick vault, I now have every astromech droid featured in your video, it took me a long time and a huge Labour of love, I’ve also got some new ones from later sets.. I’m really happy with my collection, and I won’t ever sell them 😃👍
Watched a video about the R series astromechs a few days before I found this, and I'm quite surprised the R7 series was around during the time of the Clone Wars.
You missed one: I have an astromech with old style head printing and the head is bronze with gold highlights, making TWO astromechs with gold printing.
I would love to see these videos come back for 2021 / 2022 freshly updated the same goes with the ; •Protocal droid •Battle droid Etc There are so many new droids and honestly I’d love to see them represented
@@auramaster900 He was in the "Lego Star Wars: the Clone Wars" game, so it makes sense to have an actual minifig of him. Same for R6-H5, Kit Fisto's droid
The last imperial astromech has a clear head because he is an R3 unit which have clear heads that allow them to receive and transmit signals better. They are only sold to militaries as well.
Anikan actually build R4 for Obi-Wan using spare parts so it would make sense that the droid from the Star Wars Clone Wars set was in fact an earlier version of R4.
Firstly 7658 came out in 2007 not 2010, secondly you've forgotten two dome only pieces and lastly when the collections are outdated what are you going to do? BrickVault your a great channel but I've seen a lot of slip-ups recently
I was a kid who grew up with lego starwars and never watched a single starwars movie and I never could remember other astromech droids other than r2d2 so I called every astro droid r2d2
I love how so many people dont realize that t7 01 is an outdated 5000 year old old republic astromech, thats why he doesn’t ever appear in any movies or series. He is however shown in swtor
The one black and light blue droid that came out only in the sandcrawler was also an astromech (R1) but I definitely understand if you don't count it as a minifig.
You should have completed R2-X2. Lego released his pieces in 2 different sets in 2014. His body is obviously the Christmas tree droid from the advent and his head came in the micro fighter x wing set from that year. At first I thought lego just named him r2-x2 because imof it being a Christmas tree but that’s it actually name in Star Wars.
Now we just need a R2-KT figure
Definitely! :D
who?
+LEGO dude SM look in the description.
the pink astromech droid from the 501st cosplayers

You forgot Obi-Wan's red and bronze astromechs (dome only) in his jedi interceptor (ep 3)
i believe he mentioned it saying that the full body version shown was technically not the first piece that we had representing the character.
R4-G9
You forgot about two R1 droids! Also about "dome/head only" astro-mechs.
***** Job... ;( I'm glad someone remembers me! :D
P.S. I want to make something new realy badly.
omg I have watched so many of your videos! why did you stop?

Lack of free time (10 hours a day at work) plus other hobbies. Thanks guys! I very appreciate it!
i don't think I've ever heard of R1 units
can you educate me into enlightenment
James T You can see one in the scene where Jawas are selling R2 and 3PO to Luke. And another one in Watto's shop.
Please update this ?
There's a lot more out in the past 2-3 years
Yet still no R2-KT yet
I feel like he cares less and less about these kinds of vids since the newer ones seem less good, quality wise

YES PLEASE DO
yeah you should
There was a R4-G9 dome included in the jedi starfighter and booster ring. You forgot it. It was a copper colored dome
Yeah i have that and there was a red dome from the first v wing... It looks just like the r4 dome
yeah he forgot a snowman version of a astromec from a advent calendar to
As well as that there was a R4-P17 dome in a 2002 Obi-Wan's Jedi starfighter set.
+Chickeman1 maybe he just missed it
+Emil Kaapola he had it in the R2-D2 video
There was a head for R4-P17 in Obi-Wan’s episode III starfighter, and the copper droid he took to Utapau in the Hyperspace Booster Ring. But those were just heads.
i have the head and knew he came out in early 2000's so i was curious why r4 wasn't there earlier
It’d be darn lovely if the astromech torso had an axel on the head area, so the head could spin
oh dang that's actually a really good idea

I love the astromechs even if I’m not a Star Wars fan myself due to the fast they look so darn cute
T7-01 and the set he's in is a Star Wars : The Old Republic Set.
Now this is handy. It can be hard to keep track of all these cute little droids. Now I can just keep this linked and check it when I need.
Every Mandolorian minifig ever!
Rodney Walker True but theres isn't many rebels soldiers either
+Rodney Walker You'd be surprised how many there are.

I hope they do more astromechs with the tree droids head type

these are for some reason some of my favourite figures to collect, it would often heavily weight my choice if i was deciding between multiple sets

other astromech droids.
R2-A3 (Wedge Antilles's droid)
R5-K6 (Garven Dreis's) droid
R2-F2 (Bigg's droid)

what about the R1 droid in the sandcrawler?

You forgot the R1 droid from the new UCS sandcrawler. It doesn't work in ships but it is a lego astromech
You forgot the blue and silver imperial astromech droid
Debbie Dawood has t didn’t exist when their video was made
I hope they make CB-23, cheep, G-G, D squad, actual R4 droids and an updated R7-A7
I don’t remember but was BB 9e a thing when this video was made?
No that set was from late 2017
