Here's an apparently seldom used Zippo trick: 1) Hold the Zippo by the base in your right hand. 2 ) Use your left hand to open the cover. 3) While still holding it in your right hand, use your right thumb to flick the wheel, thereby lighting the lighter. 4) Use the flame for your intended purpose. 5) Close the cover with your left hand to extinguish the flame and put the Zippo away. I guarantee you will have little to no hinge issues using this method.
The best part of the video was when he showed us his cookie... I literally finished my cookie 30 seconds before the video and it reminded me of that amazing taste. God bless you
he was so prepared for this video like i can just imagine him sitting behind a camera holding a sticky note and a cookie like 'mang this gonna be great'
I found your video useful. I was able to them all except the regular Palm. (Two fingers like a gun) which I'm confused I can do the reverse which you say is "harder" I look forward to your next video and I'll keep practicing the basics. Constructive criticism: take a little more time showing the trick and fingering in your slower instructions. And to those that get mad at you because they can't get it, practice! Don't expect to get everything on the first try.
Well I for one appreciate your video sir. As I am new to this amazing lighter. Thought I might learn a few tricks since a lot of guys I work with smoke and usually need a light. So throw in some tricks I have learned for some fun.
the whole video is just you showing off, you very briefly go over the squeezes and they're the most practice intensive. if you haven't noticed people don't like to rewind every 5 seconds to get a trick down. i advise linking separate videos of individual tricks, you'd get more ad revenue too if that's what you're after.
The hole is also used to help lift the felt up for getting ready to fill the lighter. I'm lucky - I happen to live almost next door to the Zippo Manufacturing company :)
If you take the insert out and force the lid around without bending too much you can get the hinge back to its original position. Its not necessarily the hinge getting fucked up its the case slightly bending from the force
I see a lot of comments about Bic flint, never use Bic flint in your zippo as it wears the wheel out. Ronson and Zippo flint are softer and spark harder.
I've carried one since I was 11 and I never bothered learning any tricks but now for some reason I guess I want to. Would it be a good idea to practice without the insert for a bit because its lighter? I don't drop it in my lap quite as much😂
I used to play with zippo's when I was younger but I havn't had one for a long while. I would say to keep the insert in so as to have the same weight to it. But that's just my preference. I find using the real thing while practicing almost anything is the best way to go. Using a dummy or light version would only throw you off when you go and use the real thing. Again, this is just how I go about learning new skills. Not everybody would agree with me or my reasoning behind it. But that's okay. Hope it helps a little.
in what world is 3:40 simple or easy. I've never seen anyone do that with anything, outside of breakfast club and maybe another movei. I think of the simplest stuff as the squeezes
I have a question. Well, my fingers are pretty small and I can never or rarely finger pass to my pinky, so do I just practice and then that'll go away, or do I use the first three fingers for a while and wait for my fingers to grow?. :/
Just don't use your pinky, I only use my 3 fingers. But the problem now is that I'm so used to it I can't do any tricks that require my pink anymore. :(
Don't be discouraged if the "top pop" isn't easy as he says. It is nothing like easy and if your fingertips are dry, you will still drop it if you've done this a thousand times. Lick your fingertips, then dry them on your clothing and you will never drop it (once you learn which is NOT easy) I'm guessing he's done it so long that he forgot how hard it is to master. You're basically shooting the zippo out of your hands like a spring, then catching it with your fingertips before it flies out of your hands in a split second, does that sound "easy"? Do it on a carpeted floor so your hinge doesn't get bent, you will drop it over 100 times.
My dad gave me a zippo he had for over 26 years for my birthday the other day kinda like a heirloom aha and it works totally fine nothing's wrong with it hinge is fine and he used to do tricks with it love my Zippos
all squeezes will loosen the hinge over time, although all zippos have a lifetime guarentee you can get a cheap imitation zippo to practice with if you're worried about ruining your good lighter.
I'm gonna start collecting these and watchs and I'm new to this and tbh the reason why I wanted to start collecting those 2 things is because I love them and I list to Frank Sinatra and I just started thinking I gonna start collect these and I think it is a very nice hobbo and very old school i love it and not alot of people do it anymore but I'm gonna start so if y'all guys got any ideas or books I can read or start I would love that please comment cuz I would love to know more about them
Hello everyone, this video sucks. Please watch the updated version of this video thank you.

Or with the fire on at someone's else house. Good thing it's was someone's else house though.
respect to this guy man, he has a cookie
The best part of the video was when he showed us his cookie... I literally finished my cookie 30 seconds before the video and it reminded me of that amazing taste. God bless you
Well, this was a bit difficult, propelled my zippo right into my face while trying to "pop the top"

the pop off was so easy to learn! like it took me a few tries but very well explained man! thanks :D
Where did you get the zippo from 1:30? Anyone please. i really like it.
I'm doing nothing but hurting my fingers and getting pissed off
Well I for one appreciate your video sir. As I am new to this amazing lighter. Thought I might learn a few tricks since a lot of guys I work with smoke and usually need a light. So throw in some tricks I have learned for some fun.
Not even 1 minute in and I already fucking loved the video subscribed
i laughed much harder than i should have at the "I have a cookie" great video!
the whole video is just you showing off, you very briefly go over the squeezes and they're the most practice intensive. if you haven't noticed people don't like to rewind every 5 seconds to get a trick down. i advise linking separate videos of individual tricks, you'd get more ad revenue too if that's what you're after.
my Pinky is too short, i hate my life now.
for what trick,
+Mikus Haikus for the one where you twirl the lighter between fingers. I finally got it! lpl
+Mikus Haikus I never gave up.
Good job, I'm proud of you son.
thanks dude. :D
The hole is also used to help lift the felt up for getting ready to fill the lighter. I'm lucky - I happen to live almost next door to the Zippo Manufacturing company :)
yeah well I have a cookie, after I heard that I subscribed haha
I am so drunk right now. but I have to say I still learned a lot. nice video mate
If you take the insert out and force the lid around without bending too much you can get the hinge back to its original position. Its not necessarily the hinge getting fucked up its the case slightly bending from the force
since i roll coins and rings on my fingers the roll was super easy to ro learn! on of my favorites to do!
I think I'll just stick with collecting nice Zippo lighters :)
I'm am advanced balisong flipper and some of my friends have been asking me if I'm any good at zippo tricks. Guess it's time to find out!
good tutorial for beginner ... good job!!
the lighting with a snap is the only trick you need
I see a lot of comments about Bic flint, never use Bic flint in your zippo as it wears the wheel out. Ronson and Zippo flint are softer and spark harder.
I have a matte white one, I feel like it makes learning all of these way more difficult
Dw i have matte red
Alright enough enough, he's got a cookie everyone, just relax for a god-dammed second
you sound like that guy who played mark zuckerberg in social networking
lol
Great video thanks!
I think that small hole IS actually for flints! In any event I use em for that purpose as do you and Ive never had a problem.
Thanks man! it worked
Is regular zippo or slim zippo best for doing tricks?
If I damage my zippo with squeeze tricks but I have the guarantee they reemplace it or is it unuseful in that case?
If you break your zippo somehow, they either repair it, or replace it if badly enough damaged beyond repair.
I've carried one since I was 11 and I never bothered learning any tricks but now for some reason I guess I want to. Would it be a good idea to practice without the insert for a bit because its lighter? I don't drop it in my lap quite as much😂

I didn't know this was a real thing I usually only do it with a balisong this is interesting
Carrying a Zippo lighter is the only thing I miss about smoking.
Is this fucking called BASIC?!!?! Dude I think I gonna try that shit for a couple of years to success lol
Wow!!!! What zippo do you have? Is it a special edition? Please reply!!!!! :)
gold one? amazon to all searching for a zippo! just got mine, fucking love it
That Cookie made me laugh harder then it should xD
where did you get the first zippo where you teach the parts, the stickered one, that one is really cool
I honestly think it was very knowledgeable
Zippo tricks? Gets Vietnam flashback of burning huts
in what world is 3:40 simple or easy. I've never seen anyone do that with anything, outside of breakfast club and maybe another movei. I think of the simplest stuff as the squeezes
Ho burned the couch 🛋 😂😂
If I’m already great with a balisong (like i can do basically anything) will that help learn this faster?
The hole is for something small to get the pad up but its very easy to just get it with your hands
The hole is made to hold another silex rod so you can change it.
What is that zippo with the stickers called it’s sick
Thanks for video
I have my zippo lighter for ages. Never done any trick while using it.
OH GOD HE HAS A COOKIE!!! EVERYBODY STAY BACK!!!
try and listen to this at 0.25 speed. It's like trying to listen to what someone is saying but you have depression.
Good video.Best is the cookie :D
The hole is to actually put something small in there to lift the top felt so you can fill the zippo
learned open trick, thanks
So far the zippo has flown out of my hand every conceivable direction except at my face
I have a question. Well, my fingers are pretty small and I can never or rarely finger pass to my pinky, so do I just practice and then that'll go away, or do I use the first three fingers for a while and wait for my fingers to grow?. :/

+Ralphstricks Oh Oki, thanks. :)
you wanna learn zippo tricks
tutorial: do it
The unbeatable argument
btw i almost broke my fingers
that little hole is used just to pull the padding up if needed
Zippos have a lifetime guarantee lol it doesn't matter if you mess it up
just wondering, does constantly flicking the lighter open wreck the hinge over time. if so how long until it does?
Ask your grandfather, his probably still works!
Don't be discouraged if the "top pop" isn't easy as he says. It is nothing like easy and if your fingertips are dry, you will still drop it if you've done this a thousand times. Outdated but works!
Can I do the tricks with a fake zippo? :D
is it only the top pop that will ruin the hinge, or is it all the squeezes?
all squeezes will loosen the hinge over time, although all zippos have a lifetime guarentee you can get a cheap imitation zippo to practice with if you're worried about ruining your good lighter.
thank you
Can it brake by doing all the tricks?
Hi Ralph, what is the name of the colorfully comic Zippo in this video?
Its called "skateboard graffiti." Zippo doesn't sell them from their website anymore but you can find a few from online.
been along time wen i practicing this tricks befor my 1main zippo damages😔. yeey I got a new one😄!!!
lol balisong dudes (such as i) would love zippo spinning
Thx for this
Sorry, but Zippo will replace your zippo if the hinge (or any part) is damaged, they don't ask if you were doing tricks.
yes, the hole in the felt is to hold a spare flint.
+Saad Malik I've had a flint in mine well over a decade and never been a problem, nor has it fallen out.
the results are in. the tricks do not work with off brand lighters
this is pretty cool sub gained ;) lol just bought my playboy zippo with my boii and ex-gf at the mall :) :) :)
You there, more videos, you need to make.
Blaiden Jam I'm on it boss.
Excellent, also, why are you not asleep. Its late as fuck. Or early, depends where you live.
Blaiden Jam its 3:30 am where I am, I am staying up to edit a video ironically.
Well then. When do you expect the video to be releasing? If you do not mind me asking.
Hopefully by Christmas or before. But I can't promise shit, this video has been delayed for like 2 years now.
I'm gonna start collecting these and watchs and I'm new to this and tbh the reason why I wanted to start collecting those 2 things is because I love them and I list to Frank Sinatra and I just started thinking I gonna start collect these and I think it is a very nice hobbo and very old school i love it and not alot of people do it anymore but I'm gonna start so if y'all guys got any ideas or books I can read or start I would love that please comment cuz I would love to know more about them
What is the point of lighting a lighter to spin it around and throw it. Just burn somthing
my hands are too big for the palm squeeze i’m just wrapping my fingers completely around it
Wow this is so hard with a brand-new sapphire zippo
