    I did one of your classes a couple of years ago. I still tell myself, slow down to go fast, and initiate every corner. My lap time has dropped by 8 seconds a lap by doing what you taught me to do.

    Learned this from one of your older videos and frankly was astounded at the difference it made. I can't even explain it but everything just felt and worked better. I felt one with the bike both sitting and standing. Honestly, your instruction and understanding is next level. Thanks for your continued contributions.

    A legend of motocross, and his advices... Oh man, day and night.. Huge different. In my riding, and for most of us who listen to his advices, I think, and not only for motocross, but also for life, how we must think, how we must live, big, big thanks Mr Hughes!!

    As a physiologist and massage therapist, I agree that what you are saying is extremely important! One thing to look at is Pilates (the exercises of Joseph Pilates) that work the core in a very powerful way.
    Your back can't be rounded and then flex sideways, it just doesn't work that way. It can't really rotate much either when bent. And you can't look over your shoulder/ rotate when that C curve goes into your neck. (that might be a tool for people to use to self-check: can they look back, can they hip-hike/ stand on one foot in their posture?
    Thanks again for your instruction!

    I used to be a pretty talented snowbaorder when I was younger. I really miss the feeling of effortlessly floating over jumps. I've just started riding bikes for the first time in my life. I would love to be able to get enough skill to float over small/medium sized jumps and get that feeling of flow back.

    I'm just a long time trail rider but this works for any type of riding. I've been watching your videos for a long time and I've been working on this. You really do feel more in control and less like the bike is moving you around...I ride a lot of trails with 6-8 inch loose rocks that kick your tires out and this keeps me upright haha!

    Yes, you were talking about this before everyone else started coaching it. I started doing it on acceleration sitting down and I felt super strong and felt my butt compressing the seat (hence shock
    and rear wheel) and driving the bike forward. Thanks Ryan .

    I watched your video several years ago and implemented that very thing rotating the hips , it has changed everything in my riding . And now I am teaching, younger and novice rider your technique and their times are within a second or two of mine after a while. I think now people will watch this and actually get it because it is as you say the key to controlling the bike ,
    thank you , keep up the awesome work , good luck and stay safe. Love ya bro.

    When I do a rope skipping workout I try to incorporate the attack postion while skipping rope. Lean forward, knees together(similar to squeezing bike) back straight, hips and butt out. Concentrating on breathing, good habit and techniques and upper body relaxed.

      @yellowveedub 6 месяцев назад +1

      I tried this rope skip workout. For added difficulty I held a inflatable ball. A Intex official 4square 6in diameter. Item number 18030. Really puts you in attack position not to mention how hard you need to squeeze so ball doesn't squirt out.

    Hey Ryan I adopted the Z form you preached from the start 10years ago and began practicing it now at 50 I can ride smooth and fast without beating myself up trying to correct all the time. First thing I said when I saw the Lawrence bros was that is Ryan Hugh's Z form. You should get 100% credit for this style of riding.

    My vertebrae isn’t fused just above the sacral base. I’ve tried to unlock the hips for years but it’s been too painful to sustain that position.
    Last week what ever it was that pinched the nerves when I tried to do that disappeared. For the first time in 50 years, I was able to ride with my core on a flat fire road. I felt great to be able to feel the balance point, wheels sliding under control.
    Later I tried in the rough sections but the muscle memory isn’t there yet. So I guess I’ll focus on the flat sections until it becomes muscle memory.
    Thanks

    add to this... dropping the heels and not letting your palms fully touch the grips (outside of palm only) and you basically have Jett's main secret to success.

  • @57moto59
    @57moto59 6 месяцев назад +1

    Interesting how you're talking about the hips. Your description instantly made me think of bull riding. You're told to "get off your pockets".. meaning rotate your hips so that your butt isn't on your back pockets. It's exactly how you demonstrated. Rotate the hips and get forward so the bull can move beneath you and your upper body can be smoother, handling the movement beneath you.

    Love your videos as much as I'm surprised to see how many riders so stubborn to learn a proper techniques, they just ignores it and do same things over and over again without any progression 😦
    I'm a beginner rider but building up better body position made me so confident in so many areas where other riders struggle a lot.
    While I understand the purpose of each joints movements I'm still kinda confused about ankles. Dropping heels obviously loads the rear end more, so should I drop it down when I need to slightly load the rear wheel without moving my hip backwards or just use it as a little suspension or what else?
    That would be awesome if you could make a video with more focus on the ankle move, when you should and shouldn't move it and so on.

    In 96/97 i spent hours watching AMA out door tapes and emulated a few riders style, because it looked cool and worked for them, so why wouldn't it work for me right?
    Without knowing it i had learned this very fundamental but beneficial technique.
    RC was one of those riders that had a very straight back and rode with his butt out.

    It's every sport Ryan! The curved back is to save the spine with immobility in a fearful crash. Rotating the hips out with the shoulders back frees up the spine. in surfing, the straightened arched hand also accentuates the straightening of the back… But the hands are occupied on a bike🤣

      Probably you are doing something wrong, this tecnigue does not hurt the lower back,are. you squeezing with your legs your bike constantly? you must always squeezing, so that. you must isolate your upper body, so to. Be loose, on the. contrary, your legs should be so stiff to your bike as if you are trying to. Break it,!! and your hips and butt, very very loose. control. The bike with your legs, and footpegs, like mr
