- Hailed as the most faithfully filmed adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary characters. This acclaimed series stars Ronald Howard as the world-famous sleuth and H. Marion Crawford in a different portrayal of Dr. Watson than usual.
THE CASE OF THE TEXAS COWGIRL: Minnie, a cowgirl from a travelling western show, visits Holmes after she finds a dead body in her room. Afraid that a scandal would endanger her marriage plans, she asks Holmes to help her move the body.
Pizzaflix ...can't thank you enough for this delightful series...this is such fun to watch...so jolly .....Wilkins is a special treat!
Love pure entertainment
I love how Wilkins out smarts Lestrade all the time
This is honestly one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The cowgirl, the red indian, the wagon, the Texas accent. It's perfect.
This is my favorite one. The girl is a great actress. She raises everyone around her.
I like her character but did you notice she mispronounced "heifer"? Although Watson pronounced it correctly. 😉
Big Salute to Ronald Howard and H.Marion Crawford and all team for the whole series as it is immortal after decades and being enjoyed by all ages with the same spirit.
JUST FINISHED watching the whole series, and loved most of them!!! These movies provided several nights of great entertainment! THANK U!!!
All Sherlock Holmes including Ron Howard's and basil rathbone and Jeremy Brett and Peter Cushing and Robert Downey junior are very entertaining but Ron Howard's is my favorite and basil rathbone is my second favorite
13:26 the one time Lestrade solves the case ahead of everyone ! 😛
so the murderer transfers the body to the next room, then comes back, oh heck there it is again..!
SH and Watsons messed his plans unwittingly. This is cheeky hilarious.
This was another entertaining episode in the fine series of "Sherlock Holmes" featuring Ronald Howard and H. Marion Crawford. The guest players were always good in their roles. Thank you so much PizzaFlix for the many hours of pleasure you have given me in viewing this series.
I just love this show. I wish they'd made more of 'em!
I love how Wilkins understands Blackfoot.
This is my favorite Sherlock Holmes: Ronald Howard. And the whole series, all the actors. My very favorite.
Ronald Howard plays the most sympathetic, woman-friendly Sherlock, I think. I liked your recipe. A cooking secret I have found for any sauce or condiment is to first beat a little of the olive oil with a little salt. This will keep all the ingredients fresher and crisper, preserving them better. An odd trick, but it works. I was touched by the dedication of the recipe to your Mother. I loved mine, too.
@@littlewhitepetals8790 Where is the recipe? Woould love to see it/try it!
I agree with you, Monique. This series is wonderful and addictive. I wish more seasons had been produced.
@@carolinebrookboysen1945 Hi! The recipe is for Tunisian Harissa on Monique Cardell's page above. The salt and oil trick is something I use for salsa, coleslaw and potato salad to keep the ingredients crispy while the flavors meld. Another technique I just found out about is Dry Brining. I washed a whole chicken, patted it dry, salted it good and left it for 30 mins. When I rubbed the dry rub on it it stuck to the skin and it had the crispest skin and juiciest meat of any chicken I've ever baked. Lots of recipes for Dry Rubs online. Some of them say to refrigerate the chicken for 2 to 24 hours after rubbing with salt. I can always figure out something to throw together but sometimes it's a technique that makes the difference!
@@littlewhitepetals8790 Thank you so much! Most interestung and will try some of this out.
A Sherlock Western... awesome 👏 Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing
Loving these stories, this is episode #4, Holmes and Watson are great fun to watch them interact
I just watched the one at the Eiffel Tower, Before that the one with the castle, oat, and dumbbell. Before that the one of King Richard's treasure. Before that, the singing violin. This one seems like it was filmed in Texas, but I bet it was filmed in France. I just started this one.
Hi very happy that you are playing these Sherlock Holmes video's 😀👍. Now with being said I want to give you a heads up. RUclips has been deleting the thumbs up that people have been giving you . I've watched a few videos over again because I think they are well done and I enjoy them. And I have to keep clicking the thumbs up because RUclips keeps deleting them. I've asked my friends who like Sherlock Holmes also and thay had the thumbs up removed also I thought you would like to know.
I love this series! Thanks for these unusual and enjoyable films
This was made before I was born but living at one time not far from Bray I became a fan of Hammer so Ronald Howard was known to me and makes a very good Sherlock Holmes. This episode doesn’t take itself too seriously and I enjoyed it including the ropey accents.
Thanks for uploading. Awesome series. Really enjoying it
So, that's it then, episode 39 of 39. It's a sad day, but what a super silly yet thoroughly enjoyable
story to end on.
This series starring the worlds greatest detective in early Edwardian times has been a real joy to watch. The style and humour took a while to become accustomed to, but soon all the regular characters became adorable!
Thank you so
much PizzaFlix!!!
I hope in time to start again
at episode one!
KAN 1.20 UK
Millie's character is an absolute gem! LOL Wilkins speaks Blackfoot?
The native American guy has me dead
So does the police man interpreting 😂😂😂😂
How can the constable speak the Indians' language?
I just love this episode. It is so joyful.
Is no one fascinated by Sargent Wilkins intelligence, yet never gets recognised for it?
That was the best one yet, hilarious.
Ronald Howard is the spitting image of his dad who played Ashley in “Gone With the Wind".
Love Watson in this series. He is funny and strong and clever and a great friend and help to Holmes.
Just finished all 39 videos in less than 2 days! Thanks to the lockdown. Craving for more of my childhood hero and his sidekick. I find Watson very amusing compared to his portrayal in the books.
a feast. Isn't it awful to reach the end? I find it awful.
@@elinannestad5320 You're right.🥺
i was in tears laughing all the way through this one...
It was so evident all along this series that it was Wilkins who quietly stole the show :D
I thoroughly enjoy the show good story line plot and acting great for its era
Wilkins is hilarious in this 😁
They are moving a body from room to room that has been hit twice in the head with a tomohawk, no concern about the blood and gore. Real tongue in cheek.
And I love the way Watson slid out the door.
I love H. Marion. He might be my favorite Watson.
4:50 I love how she pronounced " Worcester"!!
Thanks for uploading.
Thank you 🤩🤩💖
sigh .... I see them all red underlined in the playlist, that means .. sniff .... there ain't no more.
Thank you so much Pizzaflix!
Lucille (aka Lucie or Lucy) Vines, or Vines Bonnefoy, plays Minnie. She effects a competent drawl here, also appearing briefly, albeit uncredited, as the English secretary to the villain in "The Case Of The Jolly Hangman". With dual American/French nationality, she had a brief acting career but became better known as an artist. She married the very eminent French poet-critic-translator Yves Bonnefoy in 1968 and gave birth to Madeleine Bonnefoy in 1972, who later distinguished herself in French film making.

This list is not exhaustive. however, these are some of the
many actors who have played Sherlock Holmes on stage,
screen, radio and TV adaptations.
Wilkins is underrated, he's quite smart😉
Mr. Crawford did not play Dr. Watson as "bumbling"in his delightful role of Holmes' very important "side man"!
"Millie" or Lucille VInes, like so many actors in this series, was used more than once. She was also cast as the dimwitted secretary in the Jolly Hangman episode.
Really a great episode - loved it :}
but, geez, they coulda looked up war paint or whatever - that looks ridiculous! LOL
Best episode so far!
One of my favorites
I really like Sgt. Wilkins. He's very knowledgeable and clever. LaStrade should appreciate him and pay more attention to what he says. By the way, how did Sgt. Wilkins know what Chief Running Water was saying? Watson with the lasso! That was some good handln of the lasso! Okay, now back to the beginning of these episodes.
lol - fun and unique... I love this and the other versions of Holmes from this show.
Really enjoyed this one. Minnie was awesome.
That Texan strange yellow rose incident by the Canal Canary l Brewery Street and the Rain Bowing Back Verandah Story. of The Dead stay Dead Thorn inclusive. Gun n Mortar Gang. 🐎🐎🐎~~~ 🐎🐎🐎
ENJOYED ALL OF THEM WITH RONALD HOWARD THANKS
15:17, Minnie, threatens Holmes & Watson.
Hhhhaa so funny and splendid 🥰👍
20:45, Sergeant Wilkins should be the inspector, he shows the ability to speak an Indian language!
Excellent
Final one for me. A great 39 episode run. Today that's two seasons.
This maybe the best interpritation of ASherlock Holmes om screen, short and effective
I'm enjoying this more capable version of Dr. Watson than the Basil Rathbone movies.
6:25, Watson refuses to get into the wagon.
Yeah Aurther Conan Dowling is spinning like a top in his grave. So what? Let the old boy spin, we’re having too much fun here.
He'd be spinning with that spelling as well
@@RandomShenaniganery Eh? Wrote that on my phone, so probably autocorrect. I'll keep it because it looks funny though.
Aurther Conan Dowling
SIR Arthur Conan Doyle!!
Now I know it wasn't him but chief running water looked very much like Sir Basil Rathbone as strange and absurd as that sounds
That's it! I've watched all 39 episodes.
Am I now eligible for a pat on the ass and the home version of The Sherlock Holmes Game?
In the opening scene, is Holmes wearing a "smoking jacket"? Looks like a bathrobe he wears over his suit!
British actress putting on a Texas accent. So cute and she did a really good job.
I'm really enjoying this series. Is it just coincidence that the theme music starts with the same two notes and the same time structure as the beginning of the theme of "Gone With The Wind", which starred Ronald Howard's father, Leslie? Is it possible that the composer wanted to do a little homage to Ronald's dad? I'm probably just being fanciful. I guess......maybe.
Love the accent! 😆
I wish I did. But I find it hard to take here.
Well,I may be biased here, but think Texan accents the best. Then Mo.And I'll add Colorado cos my fav movie 🌟 was born there.
having grown up in the south from Georgia to Arizona, i gotta say, that English actress did a fair job, with a good coach at pulling off a mangled cross of southern and western American accent.
she poured it on THICKER than ANYONE here in the states did.
except maybe for LouseyAnna Cajuns, they get real thick with their own paculiar accent.
it was very much like a clown act.
but then it was for an British audience.
WAY too thick.
the British view of Americans always was a little queer.
What a wonderfully ridiculous episode !
Cowgirls acting is *cringeworthy* but the plot was good.
she's actually doing a great job and is a good actress. Usually the Brits do american accents in southern style (it seems to be the easiest for them), but so badly it makes me cringe. this girl's accent is southern (Texan), but subtle and not overdone - great job. The guy's is good, too! i just love her - wonder who she is? :}
Wall, no wonda, if she ain't an american gal - Lucille Vines. this was last thing she did - too bad. but then the theatre/movie business in a hard business to try and survive in.
She was also in "The Case of the Jolly Hangman".
Lucille Vines www.imdb.com/name/nm2170764/
Google search states that she is an American, born in Chicago, Illinois.
It's annoying I agree. But then hearing an American trying to speak with an English accent is funny too.My partner was Canadian & a guy once told him he could tell him which state he was from.Mike let him go from A-Z,saying "No" every time. The guy got so exasperated, saying it had to be one of them."Well actually,I'm Canadian,"says Michael."We don't have States. We have Provinces"Man so not amused, but the rest of the room were.Happy memories.
Brilliant
Great fun!
I'm glad Conan-Doyle didn't live to see this.
I owe you a calzone with your choice of 3 fillings! Peace
Oh my!
Sad to see that even back then, TV episodes had to succumb to 'silly' to continue.
Seven minutes of this is enough! Will pass on this one since I am not here for the overboard comedy. Will go mop my kitchen floor to get rid of my orneriness and then mosey on to the next one.
I love Wilkins.
Ha! I loved when Watson lassoed the bad guy.
It seemed to take forever, and he was only a few feet away.
The fellow playing Watson was 40 when this series started and he died at 55 from an overdose of alcohol and sleeping pills.
I wish I would have met a girl like Minnie when I was young.
The quintessential "Mrs Hudson" is missing from this series !!!!
Agreed
A lot of Conan Doyle characters are missing. How about professor Moriarty or Mycroft? This is just a fun humorous adaptation for 1950 s milk toast television. Just smile and don't take it too seriously.
wilkins is a human version of a pitbull the ones with staffy in them and have the huge grins
If you are wondering why this episode is so odd; at the time they needed to write this episode, the writers were completely out of ideas, and the tight shooting schedule gave them no time to brainstorm. So the story was basically one of desperation.
It did come across as desperate compared to the others. A bit of a farce. Thanks for making it clear why.
No brainstorms in little old Lone 🌟,sir or Ma'am,jest tornados.
Heifer-a cow female pronounced like Hefner
I’ve grown to like Wilkins
11:22 😂 anyone ever tried it?
A Texan handshake....
12:00, 20:43, Wilkins seems to know more about things than inspector Lastrade!
Lestrade knows next to nothing and if it wasn't for Holmes forever solving every case he'd have been thrown out on his ear long ago .
He should've been promoted to Superintendent.
Probably the best cast Holmes production. These are not Doyle stories and they're a bit campy - I was going to stop watching after this one but when Watson lassoed the villain he also lassoed me back into watching the rest of the episodes.
corny as a possum raiding the corn bin..but fun
if she'd been a REAL southerner, she'd have asked " What's he STEAMED about?" when Sherlock introduced Watson as the "esteemed" Dr. Watson...
good old Sargent Wilkins beats Lestrade for knowledge...... again............
Superintendent Wilkins!
LOL

Video 4.
Does an "esteemed partner" have a tendency to get esteemed up?
Unfortunately unwatchable. Making Sherlock Holmes bow to a brute hillbilly is something a proper director just doesn't do. It seems to me she's a relative of the sponsor and so they put her in. Yuck. Thanks for uploading the series though, I'm hooked.
Oh, no, no. This starts out way too corny. And why would this woman first go to Holmes' apartment, instead of calling the police, if'n she found a dead man in her room, killed with her own tommy hawk? Nope, not buyin' it. Not watchin' this a one. Uh uh. No way.
❤
Love these episodes but this one was really weak…
It's NOT a " HI- fer" it's a HEF- er... as in hugh hefner..
Bison Jack=Buffalo Bill, right?
