  • Hailed as the most faithfully filmed adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary characters. This acclaimed series stars Ronald Howard as the world-famous sleuth and H. Marion Crawford in a different portrayal of Dr. Watson than usual.
    THE CASE OF THE SINGING VIOLIN: Guy Durham loses control of his step-daughter Betty's wealth on the day she marries. Oddly, she's been seeing frightening apparitions since her engagement. Her fiance thinks something is fishy and goes to see Holmes, but is gunned down in the street. Holmes, Watson and Lestrade head to the shady mental hospital where Guy has Betty committed before she's put away for good.

    oh dear, the last one - this has become one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes. Ronald Howard was charming, H. Marion droll and a great foil, Lestrade flummoxed (and Scottish), and all the supporting cast wonderful. The bantering back and forth was so well done. (found a few actors i quite liked a lot.)
    i can't thank you enough for introducing this whole series to me.

      I can share part of the reason why they do the slipper robe thing.. back then they did not have good heat in the houses. A cold floor is painful to walk on.. another reason was snobby.. only the lowest, poorest most disgusting people went without shoes, bare feet where like nudeity to the upper classes.

    • @lookbovine
      @lookbovine 2 года назад

      @@brierobb9879 Bare feet is nudity to me here in Colorado. They don’t go outside on this, but were you to go out here rocks and such would slow you down or injure you since everything isn’t paved...but then where it is you can worry about glass too. People are quite vulnerable without slippers and since they’re right by your bed, why not slip them on?

    Nothing beats a good mystery . These Sherlock Holmes episodes are great !!! The best thing about for me is that they are about men going about men's usual course of business and not laden with obvious feminist BS ;)
