Usually I don’t really warm up before playing. Now I just stretch my legs and arms and a quick 5 minutes of goalkeeper training before playing. Followed the tip where you said to be confident. I used to be scared that the ball might hit me in the nuts or the power of the shot is to hard for me to save. Now I mostly save shots that are quite hard to save like volleys, early shots or headers. Still conceded some goals but not as much as my first few matches as a goalkeeper. I’m only 15 and I’m quite fat but that doesn’t mean that I can’t be a good goalkeeper. You have thought me so many tips, tricks and techniques for a goalkeeper. Thank you David Haynes, thank you ❤️
i play a lot of futsal and I played catcher for baseball my whole life so my friends told me to tag along as a goalie. Trust me if you have some decent players on your team no ones smoking a power shot hard enough for you to get hurt. Ive been keeping for like 1.5 years and I got hit in the face like twice and in the nuts once and that was today. And confidence is key throw in some trash talk too. when players wall up let em know if u cant see and expect low shots. the net is small af even for me being 5’7-8ish so if you have a low stance u shut out low shot and u can spring up for high shots.
I'm 44 and have started to be a goalkeeper again. I decided to find information these das after 20 years since my goalkeeper times. David is doing really great at performing these videos. Helps me to catch up at least some after so much time off hahaha
To be honest this is a blessing for all futsal keepers, and my problems as a keeper probably in being brave to block any kind of shot (low, high, powerful, etc.) and how to commit even if you know you sometimes fail ( does it effect you if you thought it as a lesson and not forgetting that moment, or probably what advice you have for me, thanks in advance)
Honestly, i used to be a shitty goalkeeper. I was really bad on low saves. But now i know how to minimize my mistakes and i guess i've improved so much. Credits to your video, David! Greetings from Indonesia!
I don't usually play futsal like used to in childhood I where I used to play as a striker...we play once a week or sometimes once a month.. I made some good saves but my friends always shouted at me so I moved to youtube to see what's best and I found this video...and honestly I am saying I won man of the match in last time I played weeks ago and confidence is so important we have tournament ahead I hope to hive my best there...thank you\!
Thanks for the tips David, now i can solve my problem in goalkeeping position, and as you said, we must believe to ourselves because it can make us confidence
My friends usually call me a good goalkeeper but wheb u watched this video i realised i have much to work on and rn i am much better, thank you, i noticed you from one of the daniel cutting videos u just showed in video
Very good video as always. It has been curious to find your channel after facing us this year. You do a great job helping future goalkeepers with your experience and tips. Congratulations for the championship and good luck on the next dates.
Hey Marcos! Thank you so much for this lovely comment, I appreciate that dude and hearing stuff like this really makes everything seem worthwhile. Safe hands out there ;)
in 56 still continued play as goalkeeper.never study how properly to warm up and safe techniques(i make a lot of safe per game and some is really good according to my teammate even opposite team sometime they applaud)but this give me new way and opportunity to be better goalkeeper.(one of worst position on field, one mistake and lose the game.Must keep concentration all game).Thank you
David Haynes Hey I'm Deaf and I really happy to learn from your advice, tips, experience but how I shouldn't be fear, I always panicked when other team kicked the ball to me, like I can't save the ball
I've returned to goalkeeping after 20 years. Bear in mind I've never had training on it, but your videos are really helping my goalkeeping. After a few disastrous games, I'm starting to get a name for myself :P. Great tips.
Hey man. Thanks for this inspirational video. With some coworkers we will soon start off with this sport. And I’m soaking up your info, because I’m most likely get placed on my favorite position. Goalie. And your pointers are a great start.
David's really thank you for helping me so much that my team beat a ranked team in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 that we thought we were going to lose and I really than you to inspire me that I'm taking a step farther from my performance to be a goalkeeper and that I am demonstrating that you have to be tall to goalkeeping since I'm 5'9 and I'm considered to be the best goalkeeper in the league now thank you 😊 really David and please keep on making great content and keep your hands safe out their 👍👍👍👍
Hey mate, great watch as usual. I reckon a video on how you communicate with your team from keeper could be interesting. I know it can be quite a team specific topic or not much to talk about aside from the standard callouts but would still be interesting to see your view. Cheers
Hi, david i got a futsal match on friday this week and would like your tips on defending against a power striker on the opposing team. He likes to charge and strike from close.
This video is awesome! I've just started playing in goal in my league, do you have any tips or advice for someone who's only played a couple of games?? Keep up the good work my dude!
Hey ya Harry, good to hear it and welcome to the futsal family! It's a great sport. This top 10 tips is pretty handy for that level, also my basic technique videos, especially the block save one. I've also just published a new video today about the basic stance - this might be useful to you: ruclips.net/video/wNmZMaxsWQY/видео.html Safe hands out there!
Thank you for your tips so far! it helps me improve my performances and confidence significantly. Now I am moving to a new club and on my way to sign the contract. Thank you for the tips and keep on making awesome videos! ( I'll keep in touch)
Hello, I'm Brazilian and I'm practicing all your teachings. In July 2017 we will participate in a championship in the city where I live. I will put all your techniques into practice. If we win, I'll post here. Thank you
Hello David! I've watched some of your videos and I loved all of them. I think that maybe you can make a video explaining what goalkeeper should do in penalties! My English is poor hah so don't bother if there are mistake! Thank you so much!
Another great video David! I was wondering if you had any drills or practices you could do solo? I just recently discovered your channel and it is a great help. Keep up the great work!
Hey David, I have only watched like 3 of your videos and I found them very helpful, May you make one about reflects because I need to improve that technique. Greetings from Panama. Thank you 🙌🏾
Hey Adrian! Reflex and reaction time is key to become a good futsal goalkeeper - so yes! absolutely I will be sure to do some more videos soon. I have a number of drills that we can all use to improve this. Safe hands! :)
Hey mate, how do you help try minimise the pain of falling on hard concrete AstroTurf or to help get over the pain, if there are any techniques you use to help minimise Astro turf burn aswell, cheers!
I'm a 5 a side goalie, and we've got a final to play in a couple of days. I find in a low 5 a side goal, you have to crouch down, which makes making split saves with your feet difficult as your legs are bent to begin with... help. Also saving penalties is a nightmare, I keep guessing the wrong way, any tips?.
Trusting teammates is definitely tough when playing pickup futsal. We change teams a lot and capabilities are not always consistent. But it is better to trust then to doubt and be negative
Thank you for such a great video. Im a goalkeeper for my intramural team at my college. Ive been looking to sharpen up techniques and learn new ones and this gave me a bunch of helpful tips!
With a block save should it be leg with knee on ground near post and out leg covering? I saw you did it opposite to that but i actually picked up that movement from watching my fav pro keeper de gea and he does it reverse to you?
Hey, great video! Anyone got any tips: I’m coming from normal football and I got a lot of goals through my legs in futsal. I think I make myself wide out of memory for a big goal but I create a lot of space between the legs. Any tips?
Hey i really love your work! I was wondering if you should use keeper gloves or not as a futsal goalkeeper? I was told that you shouldn't use anything because you've less control, what's your opinion?
I have used the fotball gloves, because it is very komfort, on diving save, and you are more achieve on the shot, the shots they could by strongly, I had done here on fingers, this is very hurt and concurrently fotball gloves, so the futsal gloves is the best, because mutes shot.
I used to be a pretty good keeper until i broke my wrist doing it. I have lost a lot of confidence in getting to the ball now. Any tips to improve this?
Hey David I really enjoy your advices Quick question how do you deal with teammates that scold you or tell you sh** when you make a mistake I look forward to your reply Thanks
Thank you for all ur advice and 1 thing can't be make up is like when I play a big game and terribly make a mistake and it's hard to form up fast in the game. As U said "confidence" it's very important to me.How can U help me Sir
