YES I love dark academia and so many of my top books are DA. for beginners I would recommend the Atlas Six or If We Were Villains. The Secret History is the original but it is a more challenging read. If you want a series, read the Raven Cycle series- I haven't read it yet but I'm going to soon!

i'm super late but another great book with a good mix of mystery and romance is The Last to See Her by Courtney Evan Tate, it takes a few chapters to get into it but once you do, you can't stop turning the pages!! there's so many plot twists and it's so raw and real and mature with alternating perspectives i highly recommend

You’ve reached Sam made me cry so much…but I really recommend that book. It really shows how a person feels when his/her closest person is not anymore in this world. Romance is limited as it’s ya and a little bit of fantasy element is there.

I'm suprised nobody said good girl, bad boy so I'll give a recommendation. "My secret to tell" by Colleen Hoover. And this one actually has a happy ending which I really liked unlike some of her other novels. And there is a plot twist near the end. I kind of already suspected it though. I couldn't put it down!
If you really want some Christian romances with absolutely no spice, but are super sweet, try Janette Oke books. “Love Comes Softly” series and ESPECIALLY“When Calls the Heart”.
