I would get the Rotator. If you can work it and can sell the tow truck, you could always buy the tow truck back if things get busy in the future. Thanks for the videos, thanks Rob from SH Tube.
yeah, the rotator would almost be more useful to him as part of the daily operations of the business but yeah.... it's a tough call. getting into towing you probably don't immediately want to jump straight into a rotator. but, yeah.
@Logitech-de3pcExactly,People think operating rotators are like towing a car with a Holmes 440. Just throw some chains or endless loops and it will lift it.
@@brianseace4429 yeah definitely not the $360,000 he says this one does being brand new and fully stocked at that. They cost over a million dollars without being fully stocked
I look at it like this, I know that blue tow truck is close to your heart, but if you sell it then you get go and get the other tow truck that will help your business to go to the next level. Then keep your eyes open for another one that needs a little tlc, and then you can build another one the way you want it and be able to do it bigger and better than the blue one bc you will be in a better place to build what you want and still have the rotator to keep the $ coming in as you work on your other one. I thank it will be a good investment to buy the other one. Just pray about it and let it be what it will be, Glad the baby is doing good and hope you have a blessed day
The only problem is it is all talk !! All the things he was going to do to this tow truck never happened ! Just like all the other projects ! Seems like he is always buying projects but they become yard art !
@@tnolan3176 exactly just like the airforce truck should've been done first since thays what made his channel take off. But again like you said constantly buying buying buying and never finishing anything unfortunately. Then saying he needs to sell stuff because he doesn't have money..
He definitely bought the rotator way before he made this video because when he was out in the snow and ice doing tows he talked to the tow company guys he was working with about it now I don't think it was supposed to be in the video though. But he did say it was gonna be $300,000 and brand new but those things cost well over a million dollars. And can go as high as 10 million depending on what you want it to be and what is on it. I've never seen one for under $980,000 though and that one is considered the basic model with hardly any good stuff on it but we will see I guess. But if he sells the blue truck. a towing company needs more than one truck to be a towing business does it not?
Bro PLEASE take a steel wool pad to the metal part of the steering wheel in the tow truck. Just shine her up a bit. Keep up the awesome work. Always great content! ✌🏻
He doesn't do anything just like he didn't respond to me about sending him a brand new safety light for when he and others are driving the tow truck at night working the roads I guess he doesn't care about getting hit by a vehicle out there. Oh well I tried
Tim, to me it seems like a no-brainer, go for the Rotator! I know it'll be hard to sell the tow truck, but I'm sure the Rotator will earn it's own place in your heart as you are able to expand your recovery work! Blessings to you all, Jonathan.
But-here is another thought. Being in the towing busine4ss is a 24 hr. job to do it right. Buying a big rotator is a whole 'nuther ball game. You need to have qualifi9ed operators ouse/operate it. What Tim is doing now is like a hobby. You need the step the wreckder partup-seperate from the truck company and makee it pay for itself.
I have been following since you first picked up the Air Force truck, I am super impressed after all of your adversities you have sure come along way. Congragulations. You are an immense inspiration
So here are the options. 1. Be patient and keep the blue wrecker since it is paid for and very dependable. Like when it wouldn't start at S&H Tube. Gets Tim there and back (if it starts). 2. Sell the unfinished blue wrecker and get a much newer Peterbilt with more creature comforts and three axles so you can run with the big boys. Pay attention to all of the great comments about the skill, training, commitment, and staff it takes to operate a heavy tow truck like that. The comment about qualified personnel being available 24/7 for the heavy rig is exactly right. Tim can't drive everything: heavy-haul truck, heavy-haul wrecker, race cars, etc. like he keeps saying he's going to do. He plans to "pilot" all of them. Well, when you get sick or injured Tim, you have put all of your eggs in one basket. Being the only person "good enough" to trust with all those rigs is VERY risky. The bottom line is that Tim has no patience. Most of this video was spent talking himself into getting the rotator rig. As another viewer commented, it has probably already been bought. Tim, patience just isn't one of your strong points.

I appreciate the openness you have on the camera that’s why I’ll be a life time subscriber. That’s why I believe a decision like this is a personal decision.
If you think you can keep the Rotator busy and an 80k profit on Blue, sell it and a few others too! Sounds like a good deal that won't come around often as apposed to other rigs.....but it's gotta stay busy Tim, who else can step up to use it??
Tim, just be sure the KW is cash in the pocket before you pull the trigger. Again, who else can stand up to use the Rotator if your laid up for any reason, stuff happens.

If the Rotator will bring more value to the company, and if it is a more capable truck than your current wrecker I say, “go for it”. It may take a few years to get a return on your investment. Like you said the Rotator would be perfect for moving boats around and any other objects.
He really hasn't done anything with his towing company yet he didn't charge anything when he was doing the snow pulls. From what he said anyways he koes so much it's hard to tell
I have watched from the beginning til now. You have been so lucky you have not hurt anyone. You jump into loads and what you show is safety is on the back burner. Loads are under secured or bare minimums are only met, now you have jumped into towing with no recovery experience. Towing your on trucks back in is not recovery experience. You at least have started wearing some reflective clothing but everbody helping on recovery should have on reflective safety equipment. Good luck and please be safe and get to training in recovery. You always brag about not having to be educated to do what you do. If you had an educated safety director he would shut you down. This is more show now than reality not be a hater just being honest. I was in the business for over 40 years before retiring. If you think things are hard now should have tried running a truck after 911 when even steel mills shut down .
@@jamiegore4192 one other thing I have noticed he talks about Tennessee DFCS being called on him and everything is fine from what I have seen GA standard are a lot higher than TN's. Paying for accidents out of pocket so they don't show up on insurance safety record is a fradulent safety record. He should have paid attention in math class when I drvove before 9/11 fuel averaged $1.00 a gallon the different between my FLD's & Century's when they came out, with all fairings,(8 trucks) and 2 other smaller fleets leased on with the same company they had Classics, Kenworths WL900 and longhood Petes. If your doing it for business or show; business the aerodynamic trucks got 2-3 mpg better than the longhood boxes. Was always told that my truck would 5 to 8 thousand less on tradein, with 8 trucks that's $40,000 on the lowside. Now let use that simple math class, to make it easy will use 100,000 miles a year: $1.00 120,000miles per year 4mpg=30,000miles $30,000 fuel 5 years $150,000 5mpg=24,000miles $24,000 fuel 5 years $120,000 6mpg=20,000miles $20,000 fuel 5 years $100,000 7mpg=17,142miles $17,142 fuel 5 years $85,710 Longhoods 4 to 5 mpg I'm glad they got $5 to $8,000 more on tradein because back then it cost them $20,000 to $35,000 more in fuel. Now with fuel at 4 to 5 times the cost of what it was does he do it for business or show? Maybe education would help.
If the cabover&the Pete goes to the truck show, they will go shiny on the outside, Raggedy on the inside according to videos from years past.Shadetree as Usual.
He won't be going to the show. If he does he isn't taking anything he always does that where he says he's going to a truck show and taking all kinds of trucks there and then doesn't go with anything or he goes but takes one truck it's all for views is all
When you buy one Rotator you find yourself thinking, if only I had two of these, but you got to start somewhere so go for it. Maybe an option would be to keep the tow truck and borrow the money off Brax......the lad must be minted. Keep the videos coming I love them
Great vídeos boss I am really enjoying watching you videos in particular heavy loads your and your team are fantastic blessings for your and your beautiful family Elias from Boston
As a heavy wrecker driver I’d get the rotator especially if it’s fully loaded and all around a better truck. You’ll never be limited to what the truck can do and you can always buy another regular wrecker or the same one back overtime, but the rotator will pay for itself and then some, trust me.
Rotator sounds good but you should at least get trained on how to properly use the set up. Not just guess and hope for the best , it would be more safe .
Get the rotator. You can always get another medium truck like the Kenworth or possibly buy that one back in the future and then you can get all the extra work you have done and be happy.
Tim just a personal opinion l would have went with the 6 inch shifter instead of the 10 Inch. Definitely like the Blue and Black shifter style matching the colors of the Truck on the outside good choice.
hands down buy the rotator u already have the boat business locked down to use it and its so useful for so many jobs especially with no competition nearby
you got to move forward to evolve you will love the rotator and the tow truck will go to a great person Bute the Bulit and just do it you will regret not taking it
Like you said, rotator is basically a mobile crane and a wrecker. It can help you on the boat side of things, using it for other jobs people need a lighter crane for etc. you can always buy the tow truck back later on if you get enough work, it’s not often you find exactly what you’re looking for at a good deal. And think about the content.
@@WVT0587 yea I know that. I’m saying multi purpose. If he needs to change up a load out on the road or something he can. Look back a few weeks and his truck got in a wreck and he had to hire another rotator to help
Honestly by what your describing of the rotator. Id get the rotator. Work it as much as possible and then eventually find another tow truck like the one you currently got. Thank you Tim for the videos.
Hearing you talk about the rotator it is something that you would be the only one in the area that would be able to accept the work that a rotator could do along with lifting / crane work that you have been having to turn lately. I think you should jump on your next offer for the blue truck and move to a new truck that is fully decked out with everything that you need as far as straps and turnbuckles and so on allowing you to get into more heavy work that you turn down currently.
It always hard to let something go when you put your own touches on it but if the rotator would be more beneficial to you and get you more business then sell it and get your rotator and add your own touches to that one
You should make a great living with your tow truck. I broke down in dodge city Alabama today, broke a ujoint. I called a wrecker he wanted 500 to tow me one mile and I already had the driveshaft out.
Sounds like it’s a rare opportunity They don’t come often. If you have enough work for the rotator you should go for it. Maybe you can buy the kenworth back down the road
Dude tells so many stories he doesn't know what the truth is. Says the motor blew a rod in the parking lot then pulls off tape that's been there awhile. Cmon man and it took a full day to install a shifter at a shop that 'installs" shifters
Id keep what you got, a rotator will come eventually . That truck you have can do recovery well and pay for itself . Its a detroit which you love and know . Let it serve ya business needs and do local recovery . Plenty money in tow home or to shop . That truck could pay for a rotator eventually if you give it a year . Besides it looks tidy an plenty more that can be done to it . Its up to you tho . All the best bro .
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 That diorama was quite cool! Where’s Rooster? Nice long scene for a few of your trucks. Make a copy of each truck & place in there.Love the new shifter. Your wrecker is Paid For & is currently making you money. The rotator wrecker would make you go in debt in some fashion, right? You say it’s a glider Pete as well? I would do some serious praying & thinking about this! A rotator would be more fitting for what you want & need. Enjoyed riding along with ya! I love wreckers! I’m debating on buying an old wrecker myself that I came across. We’re thinking about going to MATS as well. Haven’t registered yet though. Blessings my friend. 🥰🤩✌️
Seems like the trucking industry has it's ups and downs but the one constant is breakdowns. You and your crew are obviously good at the service / repair aspect of things so maybe a shift in that direction with a rotator wouldn't be a bad income stream to supplement the service / repair side of the business.
Tim it is understandable how much you love the blue tow truck but if the rotator can improve your business and comes fully decked out that is a plus also. To me from what i hear you already have your mind made on getting it and it is because you know it make a good business moving forward choice also. You are in fact a business man and making them choices to advance your business to the next level is what it is all about. With getting the rotator and making the money you know you can make you can then get the other tow trucks you are wanting probably a little faster advancing the towing business to the next level to even higher heights. I've been watching your channel since Bruce brought the Air force cab over been a fan ever since. You and your family are amazing it gives this Old disabled country boy something to watch and i enjoy seeing how much you and your family are close and the love y'all have. May God bless you and your family now and for many years to come.

God bless you and your family wherever you need to go! Sincerely! R.S.V.
Tim I would suggest if you keep ‘Ol Blue , which I heartily recommend , to upgrade your safety chains. They’re definitely on the lighter side of what you should have. Rotators: I’m old school. Operated all kinds & sizes. It falls in the category of what size trucks will make a difference in your bottom line? How much increase in Insurance for a Rotator? Good luck. 😃
When you said "the rotator comes completely stocked out", that honestly is a no brainer. It's nice to buy a truck, but to have to stock it with rigging and tools always sucks. Being you have a non towing use for it as well, it would make sense. It would allow more work on the hauling side of things and more towing opportunities.
Hey Tim, it’s not my money but if that trk is going to help you expand the business and open up new avenues then it seems like a no brainer. Enjoying all the different content and looking forward to upcoming videos. Keep smiling and dreaming!!!
Tim if You are really going to get into Towing seriously You definitely need a Tow Truck with a Rotator to do the Jobs Safely and Correctly. Sell your Tow Truck and definitely buy the Glider Rotator Tow Truck and it being a Glider opens the door even Sooooo much more. It only makes sense to buy it ONLY if You are going to get serious in towing full time OR just a hobby for fun.
I love the wrecker but you will never get another chance to get a rotator like this one. I ain’t seen it but as excited as you are about it, I am sure it’s nice. Get the rotator and later you can get a med duty truck to complete the team. God Bless
My personal opinion is that you are not ready and DEFINITELY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TOWING EXPERIENCE to have a rotator.

5mpg=24,000miles $24,000 fuel 5 years $120,000
6mpg=20,000miles $20,000 fuel 5 years $100,000
7mpg=17,142miles $17,142 fuel 5 years $85,710
Longhoods 4 to 5 mpg I'm glad they got $5 to $8,000 more on tradein because back then it cost them $20,000 to $35,000 more in fuel. Now with fuel at 4 to 5 times the cost of what it was does he do it for business or show? Maybe education would help.
Great video this is what made your channel great knot those dam race cars
Keep the videos coming I love them
Sounds like the Rotator is the way to go. Opens more doors for the business.
200k for that 🙄 ooooookkkkkkk smokinn that good stuff
Welcome to the world of 1/64 scale trucking!
Hey Tim, sounds like you are talking yourself into the rotator..... go for it! That probably close to a million dollar truck.
Hey Tim, could maybe show us a little more of you shifting and backing? That would b awsome
it seems like your getting a great deal on that rotator, but the best of the deal it comes fully equiped, priceless
Great vídeos boss I am really enjoying watching you videos in particular heavy loads your and your team are fantastic blessings for your and your beautiful family
Elias from Boston
As a heavy wrecker driver I’d get the rotator especially if it’s fully loaded and all around a better truck. You’ll never be limited to what the truck can do and you can always buy another regular wrecker or the same one back overtime, but the rotator will pay for itself and then some, trust me.
Hi Tim, Keep the tow truck, as you love it so much. you can always get the rotator when you have more money.
Rotator sounds good but you should at least get trained on how to properly use the set up. Not just guess and hope for the best , it would be more safe .
Ol Rob is hard on starters😂😂😂
Get the rotator. You can always get another medium truck like the Kenworth or possibly buy that one back in the future and then you can get all the extra work you have done and be happy.
Thats such a COOL Shadow box
Sounds to me that the Rotator is the business decision rater than emotion
New inspection window 😂😂😳
Tim just a personal opinion l would have went with the 6 inch shifter instead of the 10 Inch. Definitely like the Blue and Black shifter style matching the colors of the Truck on the outside good choice.
I love the irony of the graveyard at the back of your lot.
Tim there is always another deal so keep the truck and save your money up for another day
hands down buy the rotator u already have the boat business locked down to use it and its so useful for so many jobs especially with no competition nearby
Big fan of Boston trucker he is a fan of you so now am a fan 🙂👍
you got to move forward to evolve you will love the rotator and the tow truck will go to a great person Bute the Bulit and just do it you will regret not taking it
I love your videos I'll be watching you from the beginning. Keep doing what you doing Tim.
Rotator is a different beast very versatile .. just make sure you train properly
Really like your video's keep it up and GOD BLESS
Honestly by what your describing of the rotator. Id get the rotator. Work it as much as possible and then eventually find another tow truck like the one you currently got. Thank you Tim for the videos.
TIM AND HOLLY GOOD MORNING~~!!!!!!! LOOKING GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video.....Stay safe and see you on the next one
Met tim at s&h tube in Corbin Kentucky
We talked a little bit and i was on my way nice guy took the time to talk to me
Hearing you talk about the rotator it is something that you would be the only one in the area that would be able to accept the work that a rotator could do along with lifting / crane work that you have been having to turn lately.
Tim, sounds like a no brainer. The rotater would give you a lot more options for business.
You and your crew are obviously good at the service / repair aspect of things so maybe a shift in that direction with a rotator wouldn't be a bad income stream to supplement the service / repair side of the business.
get the rotator...they are such useful trucks...in your business you need one for sure
Have you ever heard of the Zachlift removable tow system , May be something you would be interested in with your tow fleet!
I’d keep that wrecker too, you will find times where you would need two wreckers.
Tim go with your heart that the best way to go
You do what you can do and the most important thing is to do what God leads you to get the rotator towtruck Otherwise Congratulations on your newborn due to what you need to do grow and God will bless you in whatever direction you want to go.
God bless you and your family wherever you need to go!
Sincerely!
R.S.V.
Go ahead and buy the rotator and if you want you can always buy the Kenworth back and you have enough work for the rotator
Good luck. 😃
If you can get a deal on a rotator go for it. Hate to see this one go but the rotator would be so beneficial.
That old tow truck got some pretty lights
Take the rotator it sounds like you already know what you wanna do. So much more you can do with one. Stay safe
Hey Tim, it’s not my money but if that trk is going to help you expand the business and open up new avenues then it seems like a no brainer. Enjoying all the different content and looking forward to upcoming videos. Keep smiling and dreaming!!!
I like your benchmade bugout. I have the national parks edition of that same knife.
God Bless
Tough decision you got there but you know your business so I would believe you will make the right decision for your business.
Tim, you just wear yourself out, your body can't handle getting run down time after time. I can understand why you feel like you're getting sick!
sell it Tim and get your dream rotator!
Hey Tim idle ur motors up to 1,000 rpm’s when parked so the top of the motor gets oil…
Go for it get the rotator
