We currently live here in CR, but I would consider us a little more than halfway through our moving process. For us, this process started 2 years ago. After my dad died the epiphany of life being too short made way for the notion of moving abroad. After that:
1) there was lots of research on countries and then finally settling on CR.
2) we took a move abroad relocation course online, which coincidentally was 12 weeks as well
3) we had a 2 month scouting trip to CR to see if it was indeed right for us - stayed in 6 different cities
4) hired a lawyer and started the residency process
5) sold the house - got half of the kids settled
6) came back to CR and found a long-term rental in Santa Ana
NEXT STEPS
7) going to the relocation retreat in June that Sarah is hosting with Allen and Michael to get some connections for the next phase of things
8) get the other half of the kids settled - sell our condo
9) buy/build a place here in CR - don't know where yet

I would like to know more about your scouting trips.
I am in the beginning process of planning to move in about 5 years. I've already visited 3 times. I will need a few trips to determine exactly where we will want to move.
Do you have people looking for rentals on the Nicoya Penninsula? I have a 4 bedroom, 4 bath house with a pool, fully furnished, Starlink wifi, etc., that could be rented between May to September. It is in the Tambor/ Montezuma area.

Hi Sarah, we are flying in to San Jose then will be staying in Grecia. We will be checking out the areas with a real estate agent and looking at rentals as not interested in buying until we have a good feel for us. If we go further to moving there you may receive a call from us. Take care
