Joni Mittchell and Brandi Carlile performed together at the Newport Folk Festival in 2022. That performance is great to watch.

Love Brandi, she's a super talented singer/song writer, and a pretty darn good guitar player too! My wife and I were watching The Voice and heard a cover of a song that was really good, so I looked up the artist, turns out it was Brandi Carlile and the song was The Joke. We were instantly hooked and she's become part of our car trip music rotation. 😎
thank you so much for some brandi carlile. she is a master songwriter and her songs have a message, but her singing and stage presence is dynamic. try a song called "the Joke"

The original is by the great Joni Mitchell written in 1969 ( about the Woodstock phenomenon ). who Brandi idolises. This a super version.

Her rendition of the song was interesting, but I was born in 1950 and I despise the entire Woodstock myth and have despised it since the event. Everyone knows about Woodstock and forgets Altamont.
Subject matter,this was not for me. To much religious stuff but vocally and musically, I enjoyed it. I have heard this song and this artist before, but I had not heard this version of this song.
Nice cover, though I still prefer the Good Harvest ladies epic cover version above all the ones I've heard so far, even this one 🤘😊👍:
