Hi Fares, can you explain a little on Pan's technique? Is this a new technique because i noticed his elbows are not high and his body roll is just nice but not a bigger angle than the rest. His technique is not hybrid style or high octane windmill style. This arm swing is quite similar to butterfly style if you break it down into butterfly drill level of entry. I noticed that he has a lower arm recovery giving him faster stroke rates and even less water splashes.
Some technicians who do the testing feel so sorry for the Chinese team , they even apologise to the Chinese by saying that they can see the unfairness but they are just following the orders from the top, they also thank the Chinese team for cooperating, they say if it was the US team, they will kick and scream and let the whole world knows their suffering and unfair treatment.
As a Chinese i see our govt is a bit of too soft on those disrespectful situations. We need to stand up for our hardworking athelets other than let them bear it all. just listened to an interview from Zhanle in chinese where he says that there wasn't any wash (due to the shallow pool) during the finals, at least he didn't feel it. the rest of the field might have felt it a tiny bit though since Pan was far ahead, but we heard that from the winner himself so it's not a "slow WR". He said that in the 200 free prelims he went out a bit slow, and because of that he started eating waves a bit at the 100 mark.

Hi Fares, can you explain a little on Pan's technique? Is this a new technique because i noticed his elbows are not high and his body roll is just nice but not a bigger angle than the rest. His technique is not hybrid style or high octane windmill style. This arm swing is quite similar to butterfly style if you break it down into butterfly drill level of entry. I noticed that he has a lower arm recovery giving him faster stroke rates and even less water splashes.

Some technicians who do the testing feel so sorry for the Chinese team , they even apologise to the Chinese by saying that they can see the unfairness but they are just following the orders from the top, they also thank the Chinese team for cooperating, they say if it was the US team, they will kick and scream and let the whole world knows their suffering and unfair treatment.

just listened to an interview from Zhanle in chinese where he says that there wasn't any wash (due to the shallow pool) during the finals, at least he didn't feel it. the rest of the field might have felt it a tiny bit though since Pan was far ahead, but we heard that from the winner himself so it's not a "slow WR". He said that in the 200 free prelims he went out a bit slow, and because of that he started eating waves a bit at the 100 mark.
