Solid review. I bought a CPO 2017 in 2018 with 9090 miles. As of April 2022, I now have 46,800 worry free miles. It’s well built and although the infotainment is dated, the sUV is extremely well built and reliable. As you should expect with any SUV with under 50,000 miles, no issues at all. It has a spirited 325 HP engine w/ AWD and is fun to drive. My favorite vehicle ever.
It's true, in this day and age that the tech gimmicks are very important to end users... I've owned many Infiniti's back from the 2003 FX45 to present day models. Infiniti has been by far the most reliable brand my family/friends/& I have owned. My 2015 QX70 lease is up in a month and I'm going to buy it. Why? It's so solidly built and will last longer than I can ask for. No Apple car play, etc... At the end of the day, I can still hear the same music through the speakers even if it takes 5 extra seconds to do so (from the phone instead of via the car unit).
@@Nestle245 At this point any FX45 is going to be "tired." The suspension and bushings are going to be worn and not handle like it did back in the day, so in that sense the QX70 will do better. I believe the body bracing was improved for 2nd gen and has less body roll. The QX70 is much more refined. If you really want best bang for the buck, just find a FX37 (which is exactly the same as the QX70 before the Infiniti re-naming). Regarding my 2015 QX70, I didn't end up buying it but went ahead and bought a 2017 QX70 Limited instead and turned in my Q50 red sport. My wife has a new QX50 which feels cheap compared to the QX70/FX (HUGE difference in build quality!)
@@mikej6565 Yeah I always find them above 100k miles never below. I see a few FX35 from 2006-2008 a bit below 100k miles, and some new body style FX's 35/37.
drew Thank u, I have the FX50s and mine is far for from basic, and boring. Let’s say when I do drive it, an mental organism is never left incomplete. Dude, u got to review a better trim than slightly above base.
I just purchased a 2017 QX70S a couple months ago and I am absolutely enamored by it! Even by today's standards, I think its great! Sure, it has a really dated infotainment system and laughable cameras, but even with all that it has more than any car I've owned before and it truly handles like a sports car without compromising too much on ride quality. So much more than I would've ever expected
@@100RentalCars I'm surprised on how long they kept this SUV I'm a fan of the FX's history especially the 2009 to it's discontinuation Infiniti definitely didn't advertise this SUV because I forgot about it I never knew the Nissan Quest was discontinued neither
Wow! Well done. Unfortunately, I end up putting a lot of miles on my car. I wish my commute was shorter, but I made the choice to move into a good school district for my little ones. No regrets, but sometimes I do dream about a 5 mile commute.
Honestly, QX70 looks far much better than X3 or Q5... And have better "standard" engine than BMW/Audi. So if You get a standard issue, You get better engine that is not available for Audi or BMW.
I have a loaded 2017 QX70 and I love it. Is it perfect no but it is the perfect dad car since I love sporty cars and I have 2 kids under 2. I do wish it came with Infiniti’s BSM, BSI and the BOSE Surround from the M/Q70.
I have this as a rental currently. I also owned a G37 back in the day. Drive a Jaguar XF now. This car is aweful, cheap interior, crappy plastics that scratch easy. This 45k car does not even have Bluetooth streaming or an aux cable, things that a 15k Ford Fiesta has. It does not get 17mpg city, driven conservatively it gets 15mpg. The screen is the same as my 2007 Infiniti, 10 years later, not acceptable. The engine and tranny are awesome and it is sporty enough, it also has great styling, but it's the same since 2009. Overall there are so many other great options for 45k. The blindspots are also aweful. I appreciate your opinion sir and good review but yes a start up and rev would be nice, especially since the VQ engines sound great, Thanks
First off, great comment. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. Secondly, dude I agree! I kinda like how the QX70 looks. It's very unique. But the rest was a bit disappointing. I can't remember how critical I was in my video, but overall I was pretty disappointed with the lack of features on this "luxury" SUV. And uhhhh, you have a Jaguar XF? Nice! That's on my list of cars I'd love to try out. Lend it to me? ;)
100 Rental Cars Haha Thanks, My XF is a 2011 5.0 Premium, very fast terrible gas mileage- yet better than the Qx70. What I meant is the Qx70 is an aweful car for the money. Just returned it and drove it in manual mode most if the time, very quick in DS. I would buy a used one with the tech packages for sure, maybe even a older FX50s, now that's a beast!!
You actually DO push the button to unlock the door, and twice for all doors. Unlike the Q50 and other models, that unlock when you touch the handle. I have the QX70s but I recently had the Q50 as a loaner and it was confusing for a second, because i kept tryin to push the button to unlock like I have to do with my QX70s...
The Santa Fe Sport was REALLY nice. It did great in snow but had a ton of space. I also liked the Jeep Compass. Although it had a CVT and really no space, it did have a lot of features on it. I really liked the heated leather seats the most.
I love how you compared it to an X3 which I currently own, and looking to replace it with 2012 fx37 or 30d I'm really tired of bmw's hard ride. By the way that's pretty low spec Infiniti compared to EU market, here even in 2011 cooled seats were standard on base model and 20" wheels.
These aren't bad, but they could do better... for $45k I'd rather have a Buick Envision, Cadillac XT5, Lincoln MKX, or VW Atlas. For $45k Bluetooth Audio is optional, as is nav and a few other options.
Agreed. Although, I don't think I've every seen a VW Atlas on the road. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for one, the pictures online look interesting.
Nice car but my beef with Infiniti is they all look like bubbles. Almost cartoonish. My favorite surprisingly in the small suvs was the Audi. I've never been much of an Audi person but that Audi was really really nice
What is this guy talking about this suv drive ruff an hard not comfortable drive at all not even close noisy on the highway but i love minds but not a very comfortable drive especially when hit a pothole omg probably the worst suv
andrae Maitland this one has standard 18” wheels so the ride is smoother. Mine has the 21” wheels and I’d say it’s extremely sporty not rough but that my opinion. I enjoy the ride 😁

How is the first gen FX45 in comparison to the newer qx70? In terms of handling, comfortability and driving dynamics?

100 Rental Cars Yeah, the design is really old, and it's pretty low on modern features.

You have the option turning the airbag OFF!?!?!?!?! Why does that seem illegal?
