27:37 What Rowan didn't know was that when you complete Fred Orchardson's final companion quest he becomes ridiculously OP. Venjamin Bandalier is OP out the get go, but his end stats don't even compare with Fred's. If only Rowan had been willing to stick it out with Fred, but removing him tends to give him a bit of a grudge towards you, so by the time Rowan found out and tried to get Fred back, it was to late, and Fred had moved on. Or at least that's my headcanon.
After the years, I STILL love how good this scene felt at 12:52. Silly, funny and somewhat powerful. And that declined friendship request was just the perfect ending.
The difficulty slider sketch makes an interesting idea for difficulty where playing on easy makes the enemies more sympathetic as well as being being weaker.
or like that one game that pasively mocks you in the narration throughout the entire game (like Overlord 2) for picking the easy mode. the sarcasm was tangible.
@@oldtimergaming9514 yes it does cause he could have ground up enemy's to level up before trying again but nope and so he cheated by lowering the difficulty instead he deserved what he got for that decision

I admire the teleporting merchant dedication like in Resident Evil games merchants. Maybe one day they will tell their secrets on how to survive in all dangerous places or having their own series on becoming the top merchant. Maybe these merchants were once op protagonists then they went beyond.
I am currently reading chinese novel similar to this. MC is a merchant in isekei horror games. Loots game locations pretending to be either player or NPC. Then sells those items in his shop. He is human but somehow stuck in this game without any player identity.

@@UKPr0t0typeAs games are getting easier in general, I am usually able to play Nightmare, but if some section is frustratingly hard, why to ruin entire weekend over single boss? His armor becomes the Dark Wyrm set, with dragon head designs on the pauldrons that can each shoot tongues of the same dark energy from his sword. They automatically shoot short bursts every 20 seconds as a passive offense-based defense for his sides, but he can also have them shoot a long stream for a sustained 5 seconds as an attack, with a 30 second cooldown. In both cases, the eyes on the pauldrons glow purple as a tell. The glow is brighter for the active attack. The helmet of the set is modeled after a dark dragon, the mouth shut protecting and concealing his face. His armored gloves and boots are modeled after dragon claws, giving him an slashing attack with his off hand, and making kicks stronger. His sword has a larger aura, and he has a sword beam attack called Light of Ruin, it has a five minute cooldown and a 20% chance of inflicting a de-buff that doubles all cooldown times for 150 seconds. At 66% HP he starts using an ability where he surrounds his whole body in an aura of the same dark energy that surrounds his sword and shoots from his pauldrons, boosting all of his stats by 25%. In this empowered state he gains an attack for his off-hand, where he slashes the air and each slash becomes a crescent-shaped wave of dark energy that shoots forward. This attack has a 10% chance of inflicting a de-buff that reduces the window for evading other attacks by 10% for 30 seconds. The aura itself from the empowered state deals slight, dark-elemental damage over time to players that stand in it (this damaging effect is fully negated if a player has at least 10% dark resistance). The aura lasts for 60 seconds, and while it's activated his battle dialogue becomes more aggressive in both wordage and delivery, and his voice becomes gravelly, like there's growling mixed in. After the 60 seconds, the aura is cast off as a damaging shockwave that is thinner at the point shot off from his back (the shockwave deals as much damage as one of the off-hand projectiles from the augmented state, though the damage can be reduced if you dodge through the shockwave, or avoided completely if you dodge specifically through the thin part of the shockwave). The aura has a 10 minute cooldown. At 33% HP the eyes of the Dark Wyrm Helm light up the same purple as the pauldrons, the aura that previously had to be activated suddenly forms as a permanent effect, but with wings and a tail of pure energy as well. All of his battle dialogue is replaced with rabid growls and snarls, he gains the ability to shoot bolts of dark energy from his off-hand, and an additional sword attack where he switches to a two-handed grip, the aura around the sword expands, and he does a powerful overhead swing, slamming the sword into the ground and causing an explosion of dark energy. The area of effect is a circle as wide as his wingspan. Despite being made of energy, he can use his new tail like a whip, either to attack or to grab a player by the arm or leg. If he's going to attack with it, he'll smack the ground with it before lashing it out. If he's going to grab with it, he'll flick the tip; up if he means to grab an arm, down if he means to grab a leg. If it grabs an arm, the grabbed player is pulled forward into a stab with the sword. If it grabs a leg, the grabbed player will be lifted and slammed into the ground in front of the general, and he will stomp on the player with a clawed boot before kicking them away. In both cases, the tail can be 'cut' to stop the grab. The connection will be severed and the severed part of the tail will reform. He'll lash his reformed tail at the player that cut it. All three tail attacks can be blocked with a shield, but if playing without a shield the arm grab must be parried and the leg grab must be jumped. He also gains a flying state. Every 90 seconds, he will switch between being a 'walking' enemy and a 'flying' enemy. The state change will always be punctuated by a shockwave like the one that previously marked the end of the empowered state. However, the thin part will be on the sides, and as his HP continues to fall, the size of the thin parts will shrink. When he's about to start flying, the shockwave will be telegraphed by the wings spreading wide. When he's about to land, the shockwave is telegraphed by him doing a flourish with his sword. He drives the sword into the ground as he lands, and the shockwave spreads out from the sword. When he's 'flying', he will reposition himself every 10 seconds, and spend the rest of his time firing volleys of dark energy bolts. He targets a player a random and shoots an entire volley at them, switching targets (or not) completely at random each time he moves. The target's shadow gains a purple tint as the boss' off-hand glows purple with energy. Every fifth flight cycle he generates a 'foul wind' that slightly de-buffs the movement of all players currently fighting him. This effect lasts for one minute. At 10% HP he gains an attack. When this attack is used, the glow in the eyes of the Dark Wyrm Helm grows in intensity, and the mouth opens to release a beam of dark energy. Because of how the dark energy looks, the whole thing looks like the dragon head is breathing cursed fire. Players hit by this will be covered in the dark energy, taking damage over time as if they were standing in the aura (players with at least 10% dark resistance won't take damage from this). The aura also causes a sort-of fog effect that obstructs the player's vision, disables targeting, and makes the affected player's allies look like the boss (players with at least 20% dark resistance are completely immune to this effect). This effect lasts for one minute, but it can be removed in the same manner as minor curses. This attack has three forms, two when he's 'walking', one when he's 'flying'. If he's walking, if he faces one of the players before the helmet's eyes glow, he's targeting that player. The beam of dark energy will continue for 5 seconds, and he will turn to track his target with the attack. Also if he's walking, if he stops, the helmet's eyes glow, and he isn't facing anyone or doesn't track who he is facing, he's doing the second type. After he starts shooting the beam, he'll spin around, casing the area around him. To avoid this, jump over the flame. He'll spin one way, then the other, then do two spins the first way, then another spin the other. For example, if he spins clockwise first, he'll do one clockwise spin, then one counter-clockwise spin, then two clockwise spins, then one counter-clockwise spins. He'll stop for one second after each spin, except the third one, where he stops for half a second. If he's flying, he'll shoot at the ground in front of him at a 60 degree angle, and do three spins to create a ring of cursed fire. Then he'll flap his wings hard a few times which will fan the flames, and then he'll let out a scream/roar, and the ring of fire will erupt as a pillar of fire. He can also shoot larger bolts of energy from the mouth of the helmet. They have the same tell as the volleys. If he shoots these instead of doing the volley, he'll shoot two in a ten second period, shooting the second one after a six-second delay. These larger shots deal splash damage when they explode, and they have partial tracking. If hit directly, one of these bolts does as much damage as a full 10 second volley of the smaller shots from the hand. He switches targets (or not) randomly after the first shot. When his HP hits 0 he'll start to thrash and rage, but the purple light inside the helmet will start to fade out, an ominous purple mist rising into the sky as it does. As this is happening, there are a couple flickers in the boss' nametag, where for just a few frames each time, the name changes to 'Broken Puppet', each time flickering back to 'Dark Lord General'. As the light fades completely, the purple mist will swirl in the sky, then dart off into the sky. In case anyone's curious, I spent an hour and a half on this. Not official, just the work of a video game aficionado. You're welcome. Also, obviously, this whole bit makes some assumptions about things that might not exist in the real-fake game.
He's actually bugged, they mixed up his stats for "normal" and "hard" in the last patch. Everyone had read the patch notes and knew that you just needed to switch to "hard" to get a good, but doable fight - but nope, _SOMEBODY_ didn't read them and thought he had to switch to "easy" 🤣
As an mmorpg player for over a decade, I must say these are the very points I thought about and seeing it revived with the silliest parts of it with such effort and budget, I'm in love with you guys. Splendid acting as well!
I'd LOVE to play a Viva La Dirt MMORPG, and explore Honeywood and Darkwood. But with all the humor and self-awareness, everything. Fuck, sign me up. Might be just what we need. A self aware MMORPG.
I've spent a weird amount of time wondering about whether everybody in Azerim says banaynays, or if it's just the poor fruit salesman that somehow doesn't know the actual word, but everybody is too embarrased to say anything because they all see that he just can't catch a break.. Either way it's a hilarious recurring bit! Keep up the great work! Much love and appreciation from Denmark!
Wow, the firing your follower bit was so relatable.. That's exactly how I feel everytime I take a follower, which has been with me from the very beginning and aided me through many hardships, into the middle of nowhere and then trade them in for a slightly more powerfull stranger. "Okay, I'll be going home then.." Like Frodo sending Sam away
When are we going to get a Ben and Britt series? I think they would make a good team with her being the expert and him being a noob. Please make this happen, I think it would be so funny. Lol 😂
Just wanted to share that the difficulty level slide video nearly killed the lady of the house when it was pointed out how she likes to play. Cheers for bringing so much joy into this gamer household.
I love to re-watch these compilations because I've sometimes forgotten some of the details of the earliest ones and this is a great way to refresh my memory ❤
24:16 Wrong wrong wrong. You do it like this: Rescue the son, bring him to his father, collect reward, put a bucket on the fathers head so he cannot see, kill the son and take the armor while the father keeps thinking you for rescuing the son. Thats how quests work in games. In Skyrim at least.
My headcanon for Greg the Garlic Farmer being self-aware that he is in a video game is that the devs were trying to create a sophisticated self-aware AI program for a major character...but when they input which NPC ID tag number it was supposed to be attached to, they accidentally transposed 2 of the numbers, so it ended up going to Greg instead.
The difficulty slider skit honestly made me feel sad for the evil boss. I know that was the point of it, but they really made you feel it. I bet some people who watched that felt really guilty about their difficulty setting. l)J
When I was younger, I especially loved side quests and fetch quests like find this root grass as part of an ingredient for an elixir to cure so-and-so from poison. But I can see now how these fetch quests getting 7 acorns from the Bongo Forest of Dreams can feel pointless :-) I love the random generator, Rowan is funny.

Everyone is mad at Adam for killing the defenceless dark lord when nobody of them had the ability to stand up against a blind man with a wooden spoon - he still saved them all.
Have to say that I loved every single one of the episode on this video! But the one that hit me the most, was the break up; remember when playing Skyrim and ditching a companion for another and left the other one hanging without a clue. Tried to follow him afterwards, but the npc was still there after many game days.
I know you guys have probly heard this a million times but your videos got me through some really tough times.
@@devonm042690 Jesus fucking christ dude you have just earned all lf my respect. That is way too long but I read it all anyways, loved it all bro.
Honestly one of the best channels on RUclips hands down. Love your videos
That sketch where they crouch at eachother almost felt like pseudo romantic at points lmao
that was cause it was a romance obviously🤣
The crouch signal of peace
Ben's role playing character is simply hilarious as is Britt's reaction🙂
Adventurer would you please take this quest?🤣
"The Crouch" was my favourite. So damn nostalgic. Well done, laddies! Not a single word spoken, but we knew what was meant.
As an mmorpg player for over a decade, I must say these are the very points I thought about and seeing it revived with the silliest parts of it with such effort and budget, I'm in love with you guys. Splendid acting as well!
Bodger really outdid himself this season, from creating those quests to chasing after Adam! X) I wonder if he'll be getting a pay-raise?
As long as he doesn’t drop a pen.
Hope he's getting something because it sure isn't the new flame logo t-shirt.
Nope, he's definitely getting a pay cut.
An extra strength point for D&D is what he deserves.
@No You, that's..... that's not even possible.
7:50 I REALLY want to see a version of this skit where the roleplayer just decimates the ambushers while the grinder watches on in awe
you see this is why you don't fight like a sissy🤣
I would've imagined him as Puss In Boots, absolutely styling on them with the rapier, quipping and insulting them
That’s absolutely what I was expecting to see.
I'd LOVE to play a Viva La Dirt MMORPG, and explore Honeywood and Darkwood. But with all the humor and self-awareness, everything. Fuck, sign me up. Might be just what we need. A self aware MMORPG.
It would be cool
Not a great idea. Greg would be killing all the players who skip all the NPC dialogue, which is basically everyone.
@Red *skip* .... *why do I hear dovahkin music?....*
@@cuatro336 precisely
I don't understand why nobody has requested y'all for an acting career, you all are awesome!!
"Rob 5 grandmas" had me laughing so loud lol
I've spent a weird amount of time wondering about whether everybody in Azerim says banaynays, or if it's just the poor fruit salesman that somehow doesn't know the actual word, but everybody is too embarrased to say anything because they all see that he just can't catch a break.. Either way it's a hilarious recurring bit! Keep up the great work! Much love and appreciation from Denmark!
I can't help but say baynaynays myself.
It's just a Hamish thing
in a previous super cut Rowan and Adam both say Banana normally
I swear he has said bananas before at least once. Probably twice
"Rob 5 Grandmas" lol Darkwood is wild
Ah yes.
The crouch of friendship.
The crouch that signifies allegiance
The crouch specifically used to forge comraderie with strangers.
*THAT* crouch.
ah, the air t-bag of respect...
Wow, the firing your follower bit was so relatable.. That's exactly how I feel everytime I take a follower, which has been with me from the very beginning and aided me through many hardships, into the middle of nowhere and then trade them in for a slightly more powerfull stranger.
"Okay, I'll be going home then.."
Like Frodo sending Sam away
Freaking love Ben so much. Flamboyant Ben tops it though. More of him please
When are we going to get a Ben and Britt series? I think they would make a good team with her being the expert and him being a noob. Please make this happen, I think it would be so funny. Lol 😂
Especially since he's the one usually choosing "skip."
So epic npc man but with episodes staring them.
Also like the role players vs grinders episode?
Just wanted to share that the difficulty level slide video nearly killed the lady of the house when it was pointed out how she likes to play. Cheers for bringing so much joy into this gamer household.
I love to re-watch these compilations because I've sometimes forgotten some of the details of the earliest ones and this is a great way to refresh my memory ❤
24:16 Wrong wrong wrong. You do it like this:
Rescue the son, bring him to his father, collect reward, put a bucket on the fathers head so he cannot see, kill the son and take the armor while the father keeps thinking you for rescuing the son. Thats how quests work in games. In Skyrim at least.
Useless guard is my favourite. The guard's actor is soo good
Pretty lucky one of the procedural quests wasn't kill 40 dragons of shmagenrag.
*"ALL QUESTS ARE MADE UP"*
*"WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT ..."*
😂🤣
Hamish is such a good actor. Surely he qualifies for major films
Maybe I just never noticed before, but the music production for these recent skits have been amazing!
12:36 Ahhh, the teabag; Either insult to injury, or the universal sign of peace.
The inter dimensional sign of friendly. *Crouches vigorously*
We need someone to make this game. Same names, lore, story EVERYTHING
These guys are so legend the closed captioning says "schmargenrock".
“The Crouch” is the best skit VLDL has ever made
I love how in the secret path part of the video about 10 minutes in Adam can't hear Rowan with all that stuff that's just clanking around behind him 😂
I've also been doing a radiant quest for the past 12 years called an unfulfilling job.
Sell stuff
'The crouch' deserves an oscar for best director, best musical score and for funniest shit i have ever seen
are you Blind?

The difficulty slider skit honestly made me feel sad for the evil boss. I know that was the point of it, but they really made you feel it. I bet some people who watched that felt really guilty about their difficulty setting. l)J
Love the look "the bandit King" gives at 26:46 😄
Completely and totally awesome compilation. I remember all of those and still can't get enough.
All of you. You are the best. I'm at a time in life where I don't really have anyone. And..I know it's pathetic, but I feel like you're my friends when I watch your videos. 🤷🤦
12:38 was beautiful. I got tears in my eyes! Plie of compliance. 😭
Ngl the crouch actually got me to tear up a bit. So many great moments of gaming in my past started or ended like that.
YES! Was waiting for a compilation of these new ones! Love yalls stuff! Keeps me motivated through work!
The quest skit, especially when they’re all timed!🤬🤯🤯🤯🤯
i watched every episode for a few times and still watched this compilation lol
Yep, same!!
Not accepting the friend request of the person who helped you in a rough spot but also CROUCHED with you is a betrayal of the highest order.
These videos always make me smile, reminding all those clumsy situations in games.
I just love your work guys and these supercuts! I'm watching normal videos from time to time, watching shorts every time RUclips shows them to me between normal videos and these supercuts when I just want to relax and binge watch
27:15 “was that a stroke of commitment?” Hamish breaks. Lol
Between Greg carrying players across the land on foot for fast travel and Bodger carrying a giant shop on his back across the lands...
Starting to think they are stronger than the watcher lol
I love how the "Crouch" is such a powerful gesture in it's own right. Ether used to disrespect aka traditional T-bag OR a greeting and sign to team up for some shenanigans lol!
Loved that bit xD so true.
But also that last bit where you do so well with a rando and get a friend request but decline cause....Rando lol!
The unspoken bond of the crouch!! Breathtaking
I love the entire serie!!! This is amazing and sooooo well written!!!! Congratulations guys!
That tea bag meet-up was beautiful. I enjoyed world-building while replaying that epic sound bite. Subscribed.
Really looking forward to what you guys will do with the studio!
„All Quests are made up!“ - OMG!
Everyone is mad at Adam for killing the defenceless dark lord when nobody of them had the ability to stand up against a blind man with a wooden spoon - he still saved them all.
are you speaking in the tongues of the north hun?
25:37
Every hit of that bow puts Boromir closer to death, if you know what I am saying
This is my favourite channel (after redletter media) such great skits! Almost perfect in every way!
Now I want Rich Evans and Hamish in a skit.
Have to say that I loved every single one of the episode on this video! But the one that hit me the most, was the break up; remember when playing Skyrim and ditching a companion for another and left the other one hanging without a clue. Tried to follow him afterwards, but the npc was still there after many game days.
I love the part: Could you kill 28 GRANDFATHER'S HAMMERS hahaha reference to the other questline in the well ;)
Hamish always has the best parting shots lol
Adam's "evil" uh huh hu laugh was fantastic.
Ben Van Lier is a great actor, the Stealing Armor one is so good
The start of Freds villain arc.
Poor guy ends up killing his mother and selling his kid.... he'll become the most powerful of the Dark Lords!!!
7:09~ Thanks to your D&D series, I totally get this now. I always enjoy Epic NPC Man.
These are still the bread and butter of VLdL! Awesome videos guys!
Im still waiting for ben to randomly kite 40 live dragons to bodgers shop, give him a bunch of flowers and collect his reward.
Love your guys videos. These are the kinds of videos I wish I could have done as a kid. Keep it up.
All my favourite episodes all in one compilation! Thank you ✨
Britt is so good in the roleplayers vs grinders. "Sup" 🤣
as good as compilations are, every skit as a separate upload has an ending, i recall endings and i miss them while enjoying a compilation
The dart got a loud enough laugh to get my housemate upstairs.
I know you guys have probly heard this a million times but your videos got me through some really tough times. I got really low and between epic NPC man and pubG and torkov logic videos I started playing the games and before long I met some cool people online and ended up making friends again!!
Yall are awsome!! Thank you and keep them coming!!
14:11 Poor Swishey
Poor Swishey
Some Games give you repeat quest so I just accept all the quest in an area and finish them in one go.
I'll be real, I've straight up stopped playing some games because I refused to lower the difficulty lol 😂🤣
how do I kill a hammer?🤣
I play Fallout 4 on Survival. I love it lol.
It's not a quest your doing the guys errands.
I like playing red dead 1 undead nightmare with aim assist though
Such a sad ending :')
I don't know who these people are. They just showed my entire gaming experience since I started playing video games. HUZZA! Funniest stuff since Monty Python vs. Red/Blue. Thanx
