This was great, Rex! To be honest, it's great to see my video on here, so thanks ;) You explained everything nicely, especially about the mild-side standard cars. Mild 2 worked really well for all round use, but I always find Mild 3 better only if I'm silent drifting, mostly on bayside. Other than that, it's perfect enough. Amazing job!!
T-Rex you are a legend my friend :) I've been in a few lobbies with you over years for RR7. Good to finally hear your voice after so many games together in RR7. I don't play that much anymore, but I will still hop back on every once in a while. Good to see you guys are still continuing to carry the Ridge Racer Torch :) I hope Namco NEVER shuts down their servers for this classic game!
Hmmm... I think the software manual that came along with the PS3 game disc already briefly described what I would probably have to say about the three drift types. STD: balanced drift type, grip level and NOS charge ability & topspeeds MLD: easy to understeer during drifts in corners, highest NOS topspeeds but not as good charge ability as STD DYN: opposite to MLD -- easy to oversteer and difficult to regain control of machine, recommended for "advanced players" as the manual quotes. I would still take your request into consideration, though, maybe I'll make a video about this topic one day if I feel like it :)
Thanks for the compliment ;) Different aero parts makes no difference to the performance of cars, you can basically leave the aero parts stock and only customize the engine, tires, NOS etc. So yes, you can say they're just for style.
Honestly without this I would have never gotten the right parts on the cars. Specifically the jujak, i put it on grip +3 and during drifts its extremely unstable. Thanks a bunch for this!
Very much appreciated, glad that it could help you :) I have used Bosconian +3 on my Jujak for the first three to four years in this game, not the best combination but still the most stable one nevertheless ;D
That's a nice tutorial, a guide for every cars, and explaining what is good or not was probably the most useful thing during this tutorial XD Nice job ! (BTW on my fatalita, abeille, rc410 and meltfire, i am always using bosconian +3, as knhtymh did. With boscinian 2 i feel a bit slower, but oh well, everyone has their own driving style XD)
I'm with Max on this one, way too used to Bos+3 and how those machines handle with 'em lol. Honestly surprised about the Centellee though, that has always been a clear Ast+3 for me. Since it's so weighty NOS charging is never an issue and Boscos just sound like an understeering nightmare on that boat ô_o
@@RVI985 I have also been driving with Bosco+3 for the past few years, only that I recently discovered how +2 gives fewer understeer in chicanes like Old Central and RC Riverfront, but I'm still using +3 at Bayside Freeway for now. @@TREX320 Ok, I think now I know what it must feel like to develop first signs of going senile...out of curiosity I wanted to check out those tyre settings after all, only to discover that the vast majority of my STD, and even some MLD setups, already were completely different from what I had 100% assumed they were (and Wild Gang aside I hadn't messed around with this stuff in YEARS). The only machines I'm actually using with Bos+3 are the RC410 and......Centellee (facepalm^10). Nice, the tire recommendations help a lot. I feel the explanation on nitrous types was a bit short. I was driving my Fatalita with rolling thunder tires lol. While for obvious reasons Galaxian U is the go to Type i'd like to hear your oppinion the other types too. Like is there anything, flex or extend is actually good at?
TBH I started this game using Astaroth on my Fatalita, took me a couple of rookie years to realize I needed Bosconian tires for better NOS charge LOL Flex NOS is quite ideal if you have no idea about the NOS points of certain tracks and don't want too much trouble messing up with regular NOS, but it is obviously on a slower side comparing to UNOS (Galaxian Normal Charge U). The problem with Extended NOS is that the ultimate charge is not as optimized as UNOS does, and pretty much all of the tracks aren't designed for NOS points of this type of nitrous in the first place... if this NOS type is at least 10~15kph faster then it could at least be somewhere competitive against UNOS :/ Hi-NOS is a more competitive option against UNOS, but only on courses that have shorter straights and more turns (i.e. Seacrest District, Island Circle, Sunset Heights, etc.).
If you wanna give Flex a serious shot, definitely use it on the Wild Gang...that's something I've really been getting into recently. It's also the most competitve you'll likely ever get with that nitro type vs UNOS. Wild Gang because it still keeps its slower NOS gauge depletion, meaning you can boost longer, and the topspeed is alright too all things considered. Only disadvantage is that it'll also take longer to switch to the faster "white" phase, but the entire strategy will revolve around just keeping up in the slipstream of other players to save up and attack on one long final sprint at the end anyway. And Extended...aside from "just for fun" and as a challenge it's unfortunately not really good for anything. The Terrajin's unique 20+ sec double charge on Bayside maybe, as long as people are willing to push you along...that's about it really...
@@RVI985 ah that's a shame, the purple flames look so cool haha. Nah i think i'm good with UNOS and Hi but it's nice to know that. I'll have to use the other nitro types for a bit cause i haven't unlocked the nitro +100 plug-in yet

Hi, thanks for letting me know that the link wasn't working @@, I've already updated the link. Also glad to know this video helps, thanks you as well ;)
Sorry for the late reply >_< Indeed the Fatalita is slightly more "understeery" than its fellow Bosco cars. Changing down the Mildness of Bosconian tires should do help the issue a bit compared to full-on +3. Astaroth tires won't have the understeer issue at all, but as mentioned in the video above, you will end up having not as much ultimate charge as Bosconian tires.
