I have been using the whole 36v Makita line for well over 2years here in Australia it’s called a whipper snipper(weed whacker) and it’s freaking amazing. Lawnmower is ok for a small yard, but the Chainsaw and blower are game changers. I’ve ditched all my petrol gear, thank goodness no more breakdowns and minimal services. Say bye bye to spark plugs and a burning hot carburettor.

    • @liamcooper6721
      @liamcooper6721 2 года назад +1

my boss tried out the Husky battery gear and its fucking shit. I swear its all brushed. Chainsaw shits itself over a twig thinner than your pinkie, didn't bother with the blowers due to the fact the dealer said they were shit. the hedger is ok, can choke if you move too quick and thicker grown hedges. snipper is ok but doesn't like thick grass. bogs down and chews battery like there is no tomorrow. we are not even going to bother with the mower. All in all husky is a massive disappointment and I will never recommend.
now I'm torn between the old 36v or the new 40v Makita stuff.... oh the first world problems

Next to a ton of 18V tools, I own two 36V lawn mowers (one very small, one is the largest they offer, self propelled) and a 36V backpack vacuum. These are amazing pieces of kit. I love that I can use my existing batteries for those high power tools. Especially the large mower and the vacuum are amazing and a joy to use. That 18V trimmer I have as well, it's very nice indeed.

I just got a new one of these for my birthday and it may be the best yard tool I've ever owned. You forgot to mention that it comes with four 18v batteries and a sophisticated two battery charger. I've used it twice so far in my large backyard in Colorado, the second time I had replaced the line with the heavier orange 0.090 diameter line. At speed two it just blasts through everything , works great as a lawn edger too. CAUTION: wear safety glasses when using.

Australia- Tropical Townsville-Have just bought one, and power to burn! Impressive. Had a 550 Watt Electric for 30 Years ( Ryobe) last and what t Machine- right to the end- this is better.
HOWEVER! Have used it for an hour- no problem and covered about 60 Lineal Metres of hard turf and "rough"- Charged both Batteries (as you do)- 5 Days Later-done another 30 Metres of high grass- hard tac, and now it is shaking when operated, to a point that I know it is flaming bad for any machine to vibrate like it!
How do I find if others are having such a problem. Have Checked that the cutting-head tight, and line wind is OK- but can't use it- not until I have advice or see a Serviceman!

    awesome review.
i like your outlook on going electric.
i’m the same. i hate using fuel.
my car, clothes and skin end up stinking and i get headaches constantly.
i still have to use big petrol chainsaws daily.
can’t wait for professional saws to go electric but we may be waiting a long time for them to become viable for all day use.
i have the makita 36v top handled saw which is nice for lots of little cuts and (using it like that) the battery will literally last days.
start using it to cut firewood and it gets boring quickly and you go through the batteries.
i have the commercial ego line trimmer which is nice. i haven’t used any other brands (my second commercial ego) but it kicks the crap out of my old tanaka and echo pro trimmers.
    blowers……don’t even get me started.
unless you NEED the 200cc stihl or husky backpack blower, the ego blowers destroy every other petrol blower on the market.
even all the petrol heads love it simply because it’s better.

Very informative video, as have been your other 2 on the Makita mower. The only glitch in your amazon battery deal is that if amazon is not an "authorized" Makita dealer, your Makita tools have ZERO warranty. I found that out the hard way with a Milwaukee hammer drill driver/impact driver kit. Fortunately for me, it was DOA so I was able to use the amazon 30 day return policy to get my money back. Used the money to buy it from HD at a better price and WITH A WARRANTY. Some more info on that speed feed trimmer head would be appreciated. THANKS!!

My concern was that some of the Amazon reviewers mentioned the head was hard to load and feed, and I've struggled with trimmers like that before. Nice to see you found an alternative. My existing trimmer is a Stihl corded electric, but both the cord and it's head are a PITA, so I'm looking to move to something else. Also the Stihl head on the electric isn't very compatible with alternative heads. Will look into the speed-feed head as well. Do you know what model speed feed head you used?

I tried it again and i heard the hit again. On the third time, there was no hit. Basically i heard two hits in the gear box. Do you know what is that, or should i send it back for the reclamation ?
Did you heard the same hit from the gear box ?
Does it means gear box is changing speed on the tool because it is new, so it has to be that hit ?

    • @clanmercer9816

Yeah, there's a difference in weight distribution, battery run time and it can use thicker line. I was looking at the XRU18 and this model as I have 12 acres to tend. The XRU18 only has about a 20 minute run time on the highest speed setting. That's the biggest defining factor that turned me off with that model, and the weight distribution to the rear. This model you can one hand operate pretty easily.

So I got the mower a month ago, need a new weed eater and pole saw. Do you have the pole saw or have any thoughts on it? I'm looking at the 18v kit with weed eater and polebsaw for 300 bucks at HD.

Hi, which one is better, the one with engine up close to the battery or the one who have the engine down like one in this video ? Thanks!🤘

Maybe 'better' is not the right term, and it comes down to the way the machine is used. Personally, I use this gear for mowing close to ditches which makes it wise to have the engine away from the water.

Can you show how to re-string this thing? I can't believe I'm even asking this b/c I never needed help with any other brand. This one loses a spool EVERY time I use it and then I go you RUclips and NO ONE HAS THIS POWER string head 🤦‍♂
I'd LOVE a BLADE UPGRADE - and again, bought THREE that "FIT" - except they DON'T.
