As a Desi living in US, when I first came here I noticed that, after 8:30 when shops close, they leave all lights on, all through the night. So lights stay on all 24 hrs. I was like kitni electricity waste karte hain..😱😱 Also, I was told dont but certain freezer items at Indian store, because they turn them of few hours, to save on electricity 😂
It’s the time to worry more about the climate than the money, we have used our share of energy now we are using our children’s and grandchildren’s share and planning to leave them in dark

They're not wasting electricity. They do it so that any crime in public areas is captured well on cameras. And that move has helped a lot.
