I create color stories for myself. I really enjoy BYOP’s because they allow me to take my time rearranging colors and it’s something I can do that is makeup related without having to actually apply it on my face.
And then when I’m ready to put makeup on, I have something I can use that feels new.

I always feel like when I really nail a BYOP there is nothing that makes me feel more alive lol

I've recently been getting a lot of adverts for a product called colour cubes which I'm tempted to get for makeup inspiration. It's basically a box of colour cards which have several colours that will go together and is designed for artists to inspire colour stories for their art work but as someone with a large makeup collection I have options to find matches to lots of different colour schemes. The advantage over a makeup bingo being it's a curated story!
If i see photos of something i like the colours in, I save them in a folder on my phone and challenge myself to create multiple looks based on elements of that picture. Similar to you taking random inspiration, they're totally unrelated to makeup - I've done lots from oil slicks to bowls of fruit, bluebell woods, ice-cream sundaes, birds plumage, galaxies, spice markets ‐ anything with interesting colours! Xx

One of my fave reccos for color inspiration are the Japanese color dictionaries (you can find them on Amazon)! I love these because they have little color palettes and you can just pick a page and use it for inspiration 💚

I’m a simple creature. I see an Ivy video, I like it before watching it🤷🏽‍♀️

Yes! Rearranging my routine is the best way I’ve found when I want to wear a more dramatic lip or cheek.
And taking inspiration from my surroundings has also been a fun way to switch things up.
“Shade cascading” is a great idea that I don’t do nearly often enough.
    These are great tips, Ivy.

I kinda love the glasses. The thick frames actually look good with your dark hair!

Ooh if I weren’t so obsessed with crazy eyeshadow I would definitely be wearing frames like those! Love these tips. I thought Face Foreword was a great name, but I do remember having trouble finding you through search. Best of luck for the rebrand!

Thank you Char! I liked my name for a long time but then I felt like it was time for a change 💚 I have to say after wearing the frames in this video I am excited to wear them again

I’m so glad! Autopilot is great when you need it, but hopefully this helps for when you feel like you need quick ways to change it up a bit!

I was about to say that panning palettes has ben making me more creative, and then you mentioned limiting the products we use. It's not exactly that, but it's similar. Ive been using blues in ways that work for me rather than saying i don't like blue, blue does not suit me. I've used and loved shades i considered boring or impossible to hit pan on. It's a nice "excercise".

I love this! I know for so many folks panning is a huge way to help them focus and then in turn find their creativity again!

I’m so hesitant to go out of order but I think it may be necessary because I do have lip shades I love but never reach for cuz they don’t go with my eye looks 😆

I feel like I didn’t do my bolder lip colors first I would legit never wear them and that is just plain sad
