Hey bud so quick question, if the clutch pedal is not pressed in 100% all the way, doesn't this cause minor slip on the clutch? Or does the clutch only start slipping further up? I'm just worried if with this mod I'll be slipping the clutch when I keep it pressed in all the way while in gear at a red light or in traffic, etc. Thanks!
No at this distance the clutch is fully disengaged. Well it is with my set up at least. This length isn't a very aggressive clutch stop. When you install yours try it out and listen carefully when your foot is pushed in to try and hear if the flywheel is spinning against the clutch. It shouldn't be though.
Augustus V , by keeping your clutch depressed when sitting at a light you’re actually wearing the throwout bearing faster. It’s recommended to go into neutral and release the clutch when stopped for any considerable amount of time.
There's a lot of dead space beyond the clutch engagement point. Whether you went to the end of the pedal travel or just beyond the engagement point would have no effect.
Clutch delay valve delete is very simple however this does not require it. The clutch delay is just as it sounds, it slows down the speed the clutch can move.
This is because the threads are metric.. 3/8" is close enough but it will cross-thread the hole anyway. The correct size is M10. SAE 3/8" is about 9.46mm
Way late, but you ruined the thread in the floor. You are driving a german car, so expect all the threads to be the right system, which is METRIC! So you need to get a 10mm bolt which is 35mm long.
@@willemgijs3803 when you shorten the bolt to 35mm, yes. If you don't do that, then you might not be able to engage the Clutch completely which would result in grinding gears and/or excessive wear of the Clutch. Worst case, you can't even change gears.
Well doing so can cause inconsistency and you could maybe not shift as well with a stop. With a shift stop you just go until it hits the stop, no guesswork and can be adjusted precisely to what you want instead of trying to calculate in your head. Still saves time. TL;DR: Just press and shift is better than press, guess, then shift.
I have to give you props for making these e46 videos and have to say I really appreciate them and hope you keep them coming
Note: The thread is a metric M10. Using a "close enough" imperial size will cross thread the hole in worst scenario
Exactly. As soon as he said "3/8 inch" my newb alert went off.
Yeah shocking hearing 3/ 8ths
What’s the thread length approximately
Thank you for this 😂
Worked perfectly and fixed my clutch problem. Thanks for the vid!
HI , what's the full dimension of the screw please ?
Used a 35mm M10 bolt and works perfectly
Thank you, simple and faultlessly effective
Car is in the shop waiting for a valeo alternator pulley. Will try this when I get it back.
Did he say 35cm? 😂
Joshua Belo hahahahaahahahaa so funny it is 35mm hahahah
Yep
I like your sense of humor!
Hello, what's the full dimension of the screw please ? Nice channel man !
M10x60
Love your videos T.H.! Keep up the great work. I plan to try this mod out tomorrow!
If you can find a proper "elevator bolt" use it instead. It will be a bit better.
It’s a M10x35mm

Ok awesome thanks

So shifting without press the clutch all the way down won’t hurt the car?

Thank you very much, just the perfect suggestion
i really wanna try this but im scared the clutch will not be pressed in all the way, does this require the clutch delay valve delete you think?
Clutch delay valve delete is very simple however this does not require it. The clutch delay is just as it sounds, it slows down the speed the clutch can move.
would/does this not damage the clutch? as your not fully di-engaging when changing gears
If done properly it shouldn't, just did it to mine works like a charm. (2001 e39 530i)
once the clutch disk no longer contacts the fly wheel, whether 1 mm or 10 feet, its technically disengaged. No such thing as fully disengaged.
Hey TH i purchased to sizes: 3/8" by 1 and 1.5 inches, but both do not seem to screw in far enough into the thread. Have you heard of this problem?
Screw the shorter one in as far as it will go. Then try and start the car. Or do you mean the threads don't even work at all?
It's really tight to get in to the threads, but I think I figured it out. Thanks!
Hopefully it worked out for you! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Yeah you guys need an m10 nut and bolt, the nut to lock it in position.
you should show the golf tee mod, although have you already installed a custom silencer?
Yea I have. I have my muffler just sitting there though. Maybe I will.
work great thanks
My clutch deflects from the bolt :(
Thank-you!
35 centimeters? Doubt.
Does anybody know if I can do this to a corolla? & does this damage the clutch?
Aswome channel.
subbed
I want to see this canuk drive the car with his right foot working the clutch.

Do you think 40 or 45 mm would still work? I got an M10. All fkin stores are closed now...

Honestly... what is the point of this? If you want quicker shifts just don't press the pedal as far???

Good explanation.
Why not adjust biting point
35 CM!
Can this work on a e39 manual
Yup
35 cm? wut??
Lol! 35mm. Nice catch.
Why even start with inches? I am doing everything I can to erase the imperial units from my mind... Yuck.
Yea. Trying to be inclusive haha.
