My grandma has hip replacement surgery several years ago. There was a wonderful CNA that spent a lot of time with her post surgery. My grandma still talks about her, almost four years later, and how she made her feel so comfortable during an uncertain time.
What you do matters so much! Keep smiling and working towards your goals! ☀️

First of all you're gorgeous. Secondly, I am a second year PA student and I used to be a CNA at a nursing home and then a PCT at the hospital (same thing, different names) for a total of 2.5 years. I love how you were talking about the patients not being just a number. Just from that I can tell you will be a great nurse. I believe anyone can be smart and get good grades if they work hard enough, but not everyone can be a nice, caring person and to me thats the most important personality attribute for anyone in healthcare, no matter their title.

Lisa I am starting my CNA, and then my PCT. my PCT is a longer class because I am more then likely learning stuff there that I will not be learning in CNA. Is this the right way to go?

Alvarez Clarissa I know this comment was written almost a year ago. I honestly want to do the same thing. I an a sophomore in high school and I really want to get my certification this year. I also want to be a pediatric rn! How is your journey going thus far? Also what age did you start working as a CNA? 💕

    • @alvarezclarissa6499

Dakota W I have my CMA so I am a Medical assistant not a certified nurse assistant. In my state I cannot use that certification until I am 18 which I am almost there. I got my physical therapy aide assistant certification this year. This last year of high school I will be taking medical billing n records. I will use those certifications mean while I go to my local community college for pre reqs. I might go to there nursing school there ! As of right now that is my plan :). My school used to offer CNA certification but it got switched out :( maybe you can do some research and see if you can maybe take a dual enrollment class or something ? All I have to say is do your research on other career paths and if medical sticks that’s what’s meant to be. Also start looking at some colleges. Time flies and soon you’ll be a senior, I hope this helps 💙😁

This video literally made me cry. I think your personality, your kindness, and hunger to learn will take you so far. I think you truly are a light. And often times ppl will tell u those awful things that it won’t last and all but I love how u quickly stood your ground and said that this is who you are. Very brave of you, I love to see it.
I know you got into nursing school and I’m actually working my way from oldest to newest but if new you could tell old you something, what would you say?

i've been an stna/pcna for a year now and i love it. the hardest thing i've found is that some coworkers are not like you or i and as compassionate towards the residents. that to me is negative energy sucking away my positive energy. i am starting at a new facility this week and i pray that most of my coworkers are workable and campasionate. i hate seeing a nurses aide be lazy and not want to help.. why be an aide if u don't have a desire to help. anyways, we need for people like you and your positivity is radiating 😍🥰🤩💛🌻

Woah 😦 I’m a CNA and my main duties include check & changing my patients/ assist to the bathroom, assisting with ambulating, transferring patients, feeding (unless they have a peg/g tube), shower/bathe aaannnddd that’s about it 😂 that’s crazy that you can work with caths and removing IVs!! That will be so helpful when you start your labs in nursing school! I can’t even check their blood sugar! I am able to take vitals, but it doesn’t happen very often unless one of my patients is declining. But also, I don’t work at a hospital, I work at a geriatric nursing facility.

Nurses are great but they have the responsibility of too much paper work. The pcna is more hands on and does more work

You are so thin and beautiful like a model it is hard to believe you have insecurities and anxiety. I say that cuz i was morbidly obese and humiliated a lot growing up and as an adult. Now that i am a "normal" size I still can't depart from the fat girl mentality. I am so insecure and always thinking other people see me and think "Oh, she's so fat. Gross." It is stressful. I started nursing school this August too, but a week before my final was in a bad car accident on my way to class! I broke my thumb and wrist in 3 places and had surgery. I still showed up for the Final even though I had been on pain killers and in pain and only able to read the PowerPoint packets one time thru. I needed an 85% and got an 80% so i was kicked out of the program. I am still in shock and devastated. So much time and money wasted.
Ive decided to apply to another nursing program but they require you to be a CNA, so I am paying the money and going to start that soon. Ill have until next fall to do something while i wait, soq after watching this video I want to be a CNA in a hospital! I think the experience would invaluable. I love your heart and attitude and compassion for patients. I am the same! And Lord knows not everyone in health care share the same attitude. I asked God why this all had to happen to me when I had thanked Him every single day for getting into nursing school and asked him to please protect my hands, especially my right dominant hand! And then Im in a hortific accident caused by other driver and not my fault at all so I cant blame myself for going to fast or not paying attention or taking a risk cuz i was late and in a hurry or anything like that. So God had to have let it happen for a reason and I thought maybe it is because I'm not suppised to be a nurse and He didn't call me to do that and that this was Him shutting the door and I felt stupid for ever thinking I could be one or that God believed in me. I couldn't believe I injure my right hand and fail the class right at the end when I was finally in the groove, confident, and loving it never wanting it to end! But now I see how this can be turned for good and that being a CNA first and starting over again next fall would be beneficial for my confidence and determination. If I get in I will be so beyond thankful to God for a second chance. Im glad I found your videos. :) say a prayer for me please.
