You are so right about treating all staff with respect and kindness. There is a Janitor at my job and I always speak to him. What people don't know is that he is actually pretty well off. He owns several homes that he rents out and is only at the job for medical benefits . So never think low or too high of anyone. You never know who they really are or how they can help you😊
First of all you're gorgeous. Secondly, I am a second year PA student and I used to be a CNA at a nursing home and then a PCT at the hospital (same thing, different names) for a total of 2.5 years. I love how you were talking about the patients not being just a number. Just from that I can tell you will be a great nurse. I believe anyone can be smart and get good grades if they work hard enough, but not everyone can be a nice, caring person and to me thats the most important personality attribute for anyone in healthcare, no matter their title.
My first day as a PCA in a hospital is tomorrow! I will be working as one for the next 2 years while I complete the rest of my pre-reqs I still need. I want to be a PA as well one day!!
Lisa I am starting my CNA, and then my PCT. my PCT is a longer class because I am more then likely learning stuff there that I will not be learning in CNA. Is this the right way to go?
My grandma has hip replacement surgery several years ago. There was a wonderful CNA that spent a lot of time with her post surgery. My grandma still talks about her, almost four years later, and how she made her feel so comfortable during an uncertain time. What you do matters so much! Keep smiling and working towards your goals! ☀️
I'm a nursing student, about to take my first job as a pcna. I just have to say you are such a sweet person and I admire your passion for this job. I felt the same way as you when I was in home healthcare and I'm sure I will love my job as a cna just as much. Thanks for lots of good info and good luck to you!
I just found your channel. I am an experienced surgical tech and medical assistant for about 7 years in women’s health. I am pursuing nursing school and came across your videos. This video literally made me cry. I think your personality, your kindness, and hunger to learn will take you so far. I think you truly are a light. And often times ppl will tell u those awful things that it won’t last and all but I love how u quickly stood your ground and said that this is who you are. Very brave of you, I love to see it. I know you got into nursing school and I’m actually working my way from oldest to newest but if new you could tell old you something, what would you say?
I am a junior in high school I found your channel and just love your videos. You inspire to keep going. I am a certified medical assistant and will get a physical therapy aid assistant certification this year. And I want to be a pediatric RN when I get older. Can’t wait to go with you on this journey, much love 💕
Alvarez Clarissa I know this comment was written almost a year ago. I honestly want to do the same thing. I an a sophomore in high school and I really want to get my certification this year. I also want to be a pediatric rn! How is your journey going thus far? Also what age did you start working as a CNA? 💕
Dakota W I have my CMA so I am a Medical assistant not a certified nurse assistant. In my state I cannot use that certification until I am 18 which I am almost there. I got my physical therapy aide assistant certification this year. This last year of high school I will be taking medical billing n records. I will use those certifications mean while I go to my local community college for pre reqs. I might go to there nursing school there ! As of right now that is my plan :). My school used to offer CNA certification but it got switched out :( maybe you can do some research and see if you can maybe take a dual enrollment class or something ? All I have to say is do your research on other career paths and if medical sticks that’s what’s meant to be. Also start looking at some colleges. Time flies and soon you’ll be a senior, I hope this helps 💙😁
I just started working at a hospital as a CNA tech and ran across your video, you are such a sweetheart !!!! I love how humble you are, thank you so much for posting this !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another win with this one Madi! I am SO SO happy to see the continued positive attitude towards what is normally looked upon as the "dirty work". thanks for explaining everything and not assuming that everyone knows already, or being condescending. It is SO TRUE that people that are admitted are there most likely because of an unexpected reason and really would rather not have to be using a bedside commode, bedpan, or need assistance in daily hygiene. The daily caring and respect given can definitely help in the healing as well. No one wants to be in the hospital and be dirty! I can speak as a care giver, nursing student, and also as someone who has recently been in an emergent situation-My PCNA staff was great and really helped me feel like a human and even the popping in and getting me water was nice to break up those long hours of being by oneself . Family cannot be with us as patients as much as we want them. I am also someone who has been diagnosed and struggled with both anxiety and depression. Helping others is a great way to really immerse yourself into something and work it out. I think that your choice to be proactive with your concerns about clinicals has been a great one-Not enough hands to give you as many thumbs up as you deserve!
I know these are old videos I just found your channel looking for a pre nursing and nursing student vlog to follow but you seriously have a heart of gold. It’s refreshing seeing someone in this position love and respect what they do. Starting out in this position i feel like makes people even more awesome of a nurse. You are such a great girl good luck on your journey.
I’m not even a nursing student, but my boyfriend is & I love watching your videos just to get an understanding of what he goes through. You are amazing !! 🤍
i just got accepted into a nursing assistant program at my local hospital and i dont have to pay for anything and they are providing me with scrubs and the usual equipment and i get all types of medical benefits, Hearing, Dental, Vision and whatever else comes with it and and honestly I am so happy and grateful because i just turned 20 and i dont have any type of medical insurance and for them to offer that is so great.
I recently came across your channel and I'm hooked! 💗 I'm in my 3rd semester of nursing school and I'm also a CNA. I love it and I agree that it is such a rewarding job. People also tell me that I won't be happy all the time either but I still am and I have two more semesters too! My hospital is so understaffed that I have 15-25 patients each night I work! Goodluck with Nursing School! You'll be great!
You are an absolutely amazing human being and I love you and your videos!!!!! You have the kindest nature and huge heart and the way you treat people is lovely. I aspire to be more like you and appreciate every single aspect of life. Love you Madi!
just found your channel and im OBSESSED!! im a junior in college rn at a school that doesnt have a nursing school but i want to be a nurse so im doing a masters direct entry program once i graduate undergrad ! i thought about being a PCNA but couldn't find any super informational videos so this was super super helpful!! :)
This video is a simple display of your heart. It is beautiful. You have a hurt for this and it is so beautiful to be reminded and encouraged of why I have chosen to go into this field.
Everything you explained in this video is completely accurate! I worked in the hospital and the PCA’s are a vital part of patients care! In some occasions the PCA’s are more knowledgeable than the RN’s! Thank you so much for this video ♥️♥️
I just have to say you are incredible and you are such an inspiration. I’m 16 going into junior year and also am going to be graduating this year as well. I’m doing a CNA class for half of my day and then will be certified by the end of junior year if I pass my test and I am so so excited!! I’ve always felt led to help people. I grew up in the church my dad was a pastor for 8+ years and honestly I can’t believe I even found ur account. Definitely something I needed at the right time. Keep doing you!!💛🥳🤩
This video appeared on my suggestions and I think it is definitely a sign. I’ve been saving for 2 years to be able to pay for healthcare school. This year I finally had the money but I lost my primary job because of the pandemic and can’t afford to pay for school instead of basic needs. After all this madness ends, I know I will be able to save again and finally become a PCNA 💕 You were just the sign I was asking for God to send... thank you 🙏🏻 😊
You seem to be really dedicated and have a strong will! Crossing my fingers you get to your goal, I wish everything wasn't so dependent on money... I also started saving money since I got my job in february, luckily I am keeping my job through the pandemic, I plan to start healthcare school in one year hopefully ♥ Let's do our best!
This is so amazing literally made me tear up your heart is so big. I start my PCT position this Saturday and I’m incredibly nervous but this definitely helped me remember why I’m doing it and I’m so excited
I got so excited seeing the notification. I wanna be a PA, I'm about to start the whole process for taking the prerequisites in the Fall. But I stumbled upon your channel probably a week ago and I have been hooked. I love your energy and you just seem so nice, I love it❤❤❤ thank you for sharing your journey
I loved seeing the notification for this video come up! You are just so full of life and the kind of person needed in hospitals. Seeing how you genuinely care about your patients is so sweet. Lots of love girly, keep doing you!
I love how your so positive. I hope to be as kind and caring as you are with my patients in the future and be able to get to know about my patients lives because everybody should have a chance to meet somebody as kind as you. I love your channel and I can’t wait to see what god has in store for you.🥰💛
In florida we dont have pcnas we have cna and pcts cnas do the basic care and pcts are like a leval 2 nurse assitant cnas in fl train for about 2 weeks and pcts train for 8 mnths plus externship cause they add to the cna trainig with ekgs trach care phlobotomy specimen collections cathetercare etc..
I am a DPT student but I love your videos. Many of my friends were nursing majors in undergrad and they just finished. You're so kind and will make an amazing nurse one day!
I know this was 3 years ago but thank you so much for this video and for your honesty about your experiences. I am worried about dealing with catheters- do nurse techs always do this and is it difficult?
i've been an stna/pcna for a year now and i love it. the hardest thing i've found is that some coworkers are not like you or i and as compassionate towards the residents. that to me is negative energy sucking away my positive energy. i am starting at a new facility this week and i pray that most of my coworkers are workable and campasionate. i hate seeing a nurses aide be lazy and not want to help.. why be an aide if u don't have a desire to help. anyways, we need for people like you and your positivity is radiating 😍🥰🤩💛🌻
I’m going to be a junior in high school and have been looking for career options in the medical field. I did look at going down a doctor route, but I’ve seen disconnect with patients. I find it fascinating and amazing that you truly care about the patients and their lives. You’ve opened my eyes at this field and I thank you so much. When people think about nursing it seems overwhelming but I thank you for breaking down these terms. I wish you great luck on your journey. I’ll hopefully follow your journey soon!
I’ve been watching you for a long time now but I’m very happy with this video. Madi, you’re going to make SUCH a great nurse. I mean this so sincerely. Keep doing great. Good luck when your program start next month. I can’t wait to see your nursing school haul
hi madi! i’m also starting nursing school next month and i’m a cna right now in newborn nursery & pediatrics!! i love my job too and it’s refreshing to see someone else enjoy being a cna as well ❤️ way too many people talk down on our job but i always go home feeling so fulfilled and happy
I found it amazing that you documented your life when you were a Pre-nursing student since there are hardly any people who do that, its mostly until they are in nursing school! I am inspired to hopefully record my pre-nursing journey for I can look back and maybe help others, I am 17 years old, and have about 4 of the pre-reqs completed, when I go to college this fall I hope I can record my journey! Thank you for being an inspiration!
I love these kind of videos so much from you. I'm the exact same way you are with having compassion for people and making sure they are happy and comfortable. I'm a lifeguard and it is such a rewarding job getting to help people and I'm so excited to have even more hands on experience with people and helping them
You are such a sweet soul and the medical field needs more people like you! I'm also a CNA, but my hospital calls them PCTs. It's a tough job, but it's so rewarding. I'm in the process of getting my nursing degree too, and I know your videos will help out so much. ❤
Wow! I’ve been subscribed and watching your videos for awhile now and I wondered if you were a Christian because you’re so joyful and kind! I love that you stated in this video that you pray for some of your patients. You’re such an inspiration for me! (I’m 17 and want to become a nurse) God bless you and I’ll be praying for you and your nursing journey!😊
We really love your channel 🥰🥰 Thank you I really love how you go into detail explaining I didn’t know what those things meant ether that was very helpful and also that gives you an edge because not everyone does that so that will make your channel more popular.
great video!! i've been binge watching all of your videos over the past 2 days and saw the notification for this one and got so excited!! can't wait to watch along on your nursing journey!!! (also you are SO pretty!)
I don’t think I’ve ever related to a video so much! I’m a senior in high school and also a CNA! Love your spirit and don’t get discouraged and so down on yourself, you’ll get through this. I believe in you!!! ((((:
I’m getting ready to start my first semester of college and start my prerequisites for nursing and you truly have made me so excited to start and definitely help calm my nerves. You are such a great role model, keep being your bubbly self!
Fellow OHIO girl ☺️ I was at OU for a year and a semester and transferred over to a community college to get my RN. I start nursing school in the fall as well!! Good luck to you, you’re gorgeous and I love your channel!! ❤️
If every nurse and person in general had your mindset the world would be a better place. No doubt you’ll do great on your nursing program and will be a outstanding nurse.
Girl! You are such an inspiration to me!! I am starting nursing school as well this month. You’re gonna be an awesome nurse! I can tell. You’re smart, hardworking, and also very beautiful! You’re gonna do great things! ❤️❤️❤️ #2021🎉🎉💕💕
you are so beautiful on the inside and out! 💕 currently applying for the nursing program at my school this month. wish me luck💓 also, i love how you mentioned the competition thing, it’s SO true unfortunately. :( but we have the power to change that!!
I graduated nursing school in December! You’ll do great. It goes by sooo fast. Everyone says that but you’re going to look back and be like “dang we’re did the last 4 years go” have fun!
nursing is something that i keep bouncing back and forth with wanting to do as a career - can you do a video on like pros and cons about nursing and the journey to becoming a nurse (obviously that you’ve experienced so far!)
Thank you so much for making this video! I start pre-nursing school in about a month and can't wait to start. I was thinking about getting either my CNA certification or my Phlebotomy license so I can work during nursing school and this video helped so much thank you! I also loved how positive you were about all of it and how passionate you seem about your job!
lancets! i’m diabetic lol and i LOVE your videos! i’m graduating high school this year and i’m so excited to begin nursing school! (even though that’s a couple years away!) and i just received my CNA certification this past summer! keep posting awesome content!
I'm a sophomore in college and I apply to nursing school this fall, and I'm excited but nervous! I love your videos, it gets me excited about nursing!! :)
New subscriber ❤️ you make me so excited and happy to go into the nursing field ! I’m starting cna of February 2020 then lvn and eventually do a lvn-rn bridge at my local college . You inspire me 👏🏻
Watching your videos just get me so excited to get into nursing school!! Currently doing all my pre-reqs so fingers crossed 🤞 You definitely look like you’re so happy doing this, I love seeing people working in medical professions actually loving what they do since sometimes they go into it for the wrong reasons. Congrats on all the subs girl, been here from the beginning so I’m proud of youuu 💞💞
Hi i'm getting ready for an interview for a pcna position at cleveland clinic and was wondering if you had any great tips for me! :) I'm super nervous but I really want to land this job because I want to work at cleveland!
This was so helpful!!! My high school offers a one school year pre-nursing school program which I will be attending this school year. I feel like this is preparing me what to expect when I work during my college years!! Thank you so so so much for not only this video but all the ones you upload.💛🥰
Aaaawww! This is a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing in so much detail. Very informative. You are very inspirational and so sweet! Keep up the awesome work! I am a first-semester nursing student. It is going swimmingly!
hey girl, i love your videos !! you are so inspiring & motivating! you are going to make an amazing nurse someday! :) i cant wait to watch more videos on your journey starting nursing school !
I would love to work as a CNA to gain experience in the nursing field. I'm currently a pre-nursing student, would you suggest me to work as a CNA while being a pre-nursing student? I would love to hear your suggestions and advices! ❤️
I just started watching your channel and I love your videos. I am a health care assistant here in Canada. Wanting to go back to school for nursing eventually
Can you do a video talking about your whole college experience thus far? Like how you became a CNA while doing your nursing pre-reqs and how that all worked at your school, what classes you took together, tips, etc.? I start my pre-reqs in August and I’d LOVE to learn more!!
Hi Madi! I've been following you for awhile and I'm currently in the process of switching careers into nursing, currently taking pre-reqs! I might be looking into PCNA jobs.... I was wondering if you got certified as an STNA first or did you just get trained on everything you need to know during your orientation? Also, how long was your orientation?
I’m really thinking about becoming a PCNA but I’m so anxious about it!! You seem so confident & make it look so easy. Would you say the transition was hard?? How long did it take before you felt comfortable doing your job? I feel like I might be overthinking it. I’ve already had my first clinical rotation & am somewhat familiar with working in a hospital. Love your videos & energy by the way. You’re going to be such a great nurse one day. 💛 Edit: I got a job as a PCNA on a heart and lung transplant floor :) If you’re thinking about doing it just go for it!!
I was so scared and anxious too but don’t be!! The transition was actually way easier than I thought it would be, they trained me so well so I was prepared and I worked with another PCNA for a month while I was training on the floor! You should be much better off than I was since you already have clinical experience! You’re going to be an amazing nurse 💗
You are so right about treating all staff with respect and kindness. There is a Janitor at my job and I always speak to him. What people don't know is that he is actually pretty well off. He owns several homes that he rents out and is only at the job for medical benefits . So never think low or too high of anyone. You never know who they really are or how they can help you😊
You are the DEFINITION of what a CNA/nurse should be!! This line of work takes HEART!! Not just skills. ❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much
I agree
I'm only 1:30 into the video and I already wanna give her a big hug and tell her shes awesome:)
omg mia youre so kind, giving you a biggg hug xoxo

I’m very interested in becoming a PCNA.
Thank you for the information you have provided.
Just what I needed!! Working as a PCA you’re so busy all the time you get tired and forget why you’re there!! Thank you for reminding me❤️
I love that you’re so humble. I was working as an CNA in a longterm care but you motivated me to go back to work in a hospital. Such a nice girl 😁😁💜

Wow you are amazing. Your patients are so blessed to have you as their nurse. You are a natural, nurses need your mentality to help with healing souls.
you are so sweet, thank you so so much for those kind words

i've been an stna/pcna for a year now and i love it. the hardest thing i've found is that some coworkers are not like you or i and as compassionate towards the residents. that to me is negative energy sucking away my positive energy. i am starting at a new facility this week and i pray that most of my coworkers are workable and campasionate. i hate seeing a nurses aide be lazy and not want to help.. why be an aide if u don't have a desire to help. anyways, we need for people like you and your positivity is radiating 😍🥰🤩💛🌻
you’re so sweet 💗🥰 it sounds like you are an amazing stna💜👩🏽⚕️
I start CNA classes next month and want to work in the hospital once I'm certified and this was helpful. Really appreciate how thorough you were.
aw good luck

You are soooo nice, I'm still in high school and I want to end up doing nursing and you only make me want to do it more, thank you for that!
I’ll hopefully follow your journey soon!
aw thank you sooo much liz
I’ve been watching you for a long time now but I’m very happy with this video. Madi, you’re going to make SUCH a great nurse. I mean this so sincerely. Keep doing great. Good luck when your program start next month. I can’t wait to see your nursing school haul
aw thank you sooo much

omg lucky that must mbe so amazing
I found it amazing that you documented your life when you were a Pre-nursing student since there are hardly any people who do that, its mostly until they are in nursing school! I am inspired to hopefully record my pre-nursing journey for I can look back and maybe help others, I am 17 years old, and have about 4 of the pre-reqs completed, when I go to college this fall I hope I can record my journey! Thank you for being an inspiration!
aw thank you
I love these kind of videos so much from you. I'm the exact same way you are with having compassion for people and making sure they are happy and comfortable. I'm a lifeguard and it is such a rewarding job getting to help people and I'm so excited to have even more hands on experience with people and helping them
aw thank you ally
You are such a sweet soul and the medical field needs more people like you! I'm also a CNA, but my hospital calls them PCTs. It's a tough job, but it's so rewarding. I'm in the process of getting my nursing degree too, and I know your videos will help out so much. ❤
aw thank you so so much meghan
Wow! I’ve been subscribed and watching your videos for awhile now and I wondered if you were a Christian because you’re so joyful and kind! I love that you stated in this video that you pray for some of your patients. You’re such an inspiration for me! (I’m 17 and want to become a nurse) God bless you and I’ll be praying for you and your nursing journey!😊
aw thank you so so much Danielle
We really love your channel 🥰🥰 Thank you I really love how you go into detail explaining I didn’t know what those things meant ether that was very helpful and also that gives you an edge because not everyone does that so that will make your channel more popular.

The needle for the Accu-Chek is called a lance.
omg yes thank you so much!
Can you do a video talking about your whole college experience thus far? Like how you became a CNA while doing your nursing pre-reqs and how that all worked at your school, what classes you took together, tips, etc.? I start my pre-reqs in August and I’d LOVE to learn more!!
yes I plan on filming that this week
Thank you for this! You are so lovely 😊 I hope I’m as good a CNA as you.
of course
I’m really thinking about becoming a PCNA but I’m so anxious about it!! You seem so confident & make it look so easy. Would you say the transition was hard?? How long did it take before you felt comfortable doing your job? I feel like I might be overthinking it. I’ve already had my first clinical rotation & am somewhat familiar with working in a hospital. Love your videos & energy by the way. You’re going to be such a great nurse one day. 💛
Edit: I got a job as a PCNA on a heart and lung transplant floor :) If you’re thinking about doing it just go for it!!
I was so scared and anxious too but don’t be!! The transition was actually way easier than I thought it would be, they trained me so well so I was prepared and I worked with another PCNA for a month while I was training on the floor! You should be much better off than I was since you already have clinical experience! You’re going to be an amazing nurse 💗
madi's nursing journey Omg I’m so glad you responded!! That makes me feel so much better. I think i’m going to start applying. Thanks girl :)
I just subscribed! Our nursing school journey starts at the same time, good luck to us both!
aw thank you
